• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Speaking of saving money,between discounted space bux and MS Rewards, I'm $46 away from a Series S if I want one. That will be hard to say no to.

I had enough saved already saved but had to use the money for new tires. I’ve got just enough houses to clean before launch to pay for the Series X. It will feel nice not having to dip into my actual monthly budget for it.

I couldn’t care less what others think. They’re not buying the console for me.

I was always going to get an Xbox over a PlayStation, so Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is my launch title like Gears Tactics is yours.

In fairness, it's not like having "shows" exactly worked out for MS this summer. They seemed to get burned for something almost every single one. Wow, Microsoft sure is coming out swinging for next gen. As a budget minded parent I can certainly see the appeal of what they are doing with the Series S. $299 + $15/mo (or $90 a year on sale) gets you a next gen console and Gamepass AND EA play?? That's incredible value. Don't wanna put out $300? That's ok just pay $25 a month and you get the system and Gamepass and ea play! And then when you kick the kids off the TV so you can watch football they can keep playing Gamepass games on their phone or tablet for no additional cost? Parents are quickly going to see going xbox is going to save them a ton of money this next gen. Meanwhile Sony has Spiderman and a $10000 gold plated PS5 blowing up the news.

If I was a one console household parent planning on buying this holiday season, the Series S would absolutely be my choice. $300+$180 (or less) for game pass with hundreds of games on the console and PC for a year vs $400 + a $60 spider man game and a $20 last gen title? I mean can Sony really compete with that in the long run?

No surprise xbox dropped this news today - it's a big middle finger to Sonys Spotlight today. Sony has announced that they aren't sharing any new PS5 news today as part of it... No release date, no preorder info, and most importantly no price updates. Is the $499/$399 rumor sticking around? It does put them in a tight spot. Can the possibly $399 digital version compete with the $299 Series S? Sure is interesting to think about. A $399 digital ps5 vs a $299 digital series S probably loses. But a $299 head to head digital console battle? Sony probably wins all day long but at a significant $$ loss. Props to M$ for putting the squeeze on Sony, since as consumers we are the ones who end up winning.

Personally I have the 1X and PS4 Pro and I'm likely not jumping in to next gen quite yet. And that's kind of the issue. With no new must buy launch titles, does buying a next gen console now even make sense if you already have the top of the line current consoles? Right now I only fire up my PS4 for exclusives and VR (can't wait to see Minecraft in VR). Which means 95% of my gaming is xbox and pc. I don't see Sony doing enough to change that with the PS5, at least at this point.

That's why I am not bothered by the Halo delay and would much rather they fix the game before releasing it. Between Gears Tactics, Cold War, AC Valhalla, Destiny 2, and Watch Dogs, I'm set for launch titles. Not to mention Madden and NBA that I already have, plus Cyberpunk (definitely won't be able to wait for the SX update). For me, this is miles better than the X1/PS4 launch lineups.

All the way at the bottom there's a FAQ. The code is built into the system settings and can be redeemed onto any profile that's on the console.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol and a q-tip? My launch VCR controller was having problems and I just doused a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and crammed it all the nooks and crannies as best I could and going strong still after that.

Getting EA games now with Gamepass is just awesome. GP has really become what MS is all about. They now essentially have the most budget friendly next gen system, the most powerful next gen system and the most consumer friendly game service. 

I really do love Sony's exclusives but the writing may be on the wall.  The PS4 has sold 120 million systems but their exclusives sell at best 15-18 million. I guess there may be people buying only one or two exclusives to cover that huge install base but it would seem there is a large group of people that don't care. I think MS could definitely get some of them to switch this generation. Plus Sony now seems even more willing to put their games on PC.

I'm curious as to how 1440 is going to work; TVs with that setting are few and far between. With the 4k adoption rate ~50% of households that means most everybody else is on 1080. Does an S on a 1080 TV downscale? Look fuzzy on a 4k TV? Details MS!

My current 4k 60hz tv is less than a year old and you come along and remind me I can get a 120hz tv now that I can get a Series X on a monthly installment for the same price as one of my monthly steelbook purchases...You shouldn't have done that!

And with 2 years of GPU, I can spend my points on other things! At least for a little while.

The dollar conversion was always advertised as a limited-time thing, so once our memberships expire, will there still be deals for it? There used to be 6-month GPU codes sold for $30 on sale, which have already dried up, just like how XBL Gold codes for $40 used to be extremely common. Now the deals for GPU typically run $22-25 for 3 months. Maybe those will dry up too with MS having to secure more content.

I don't have to buy a console on installment, but I can't afford to drop $1.5k on a new console and TV. Pushing that $500 console down to $28/mo oop (assuming 20% off credit) is really making a $650 TCL or $1000 qled something I could afford and have the hardware to see the benefits of.

As long as M$ offers All-Access by superbowl TV sale time, I think monthly xbox sub and a new TV will be the way to go. Otherwise, I'll just use spacebucks and bing credit to buy the XSX outright and wait another year to upgrade TV.

Looks like EA play rounds up and converts to GPU at a 3:1 ratio:

I’m super excited for a Series X.

As long as it doesn’t mess up my game sharing with my best friend it’s pretty much a day one purchase for me. It’s my understanding that shouldn’t change considering it’s all part of the Xbox One infrastructure

Super curious to see the comparisons between the Series S and the One X. Was going to give my 8 year old son my One X, but If I could get him to be as committed to rewards as I am, he could almost make enough in points to cover the $25 monthly fee.  Then he could have a Series S and his own game pass sub rather than using mine, especially if the One X gets a great trade in price.

I do want the Series X but for me I can I wait for some exclusive games from Microsoft like Halo Infinite to come out.

That being said if Gamestop offered a great trade in amount for my Xbox One X towards a Series X, then I might jump sooner rater than later. Xbox One X prices will slowly drop as time goes on (as it should).
