• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

And assuming that $5 credit will expire soon, by not buying a brand new console you are basically just setting that money on fire and watching it burn. That is not a very cheap ass thing to do. Now get out there and buy those full price consoles.

If you can get a launch day one for retail price that is about a 50-80% discount from the scalper prices which can be considered the true fair market value.

I'm excited for these next gen systems, but realistically there's little reason to jump on a pre-order right this minute. Even if they are sold out through the holidays, the only new release I'm excited enough to buy at release is Cyberpunk and it's $60 with a free upgrade for next gen. Knowing my gaming habits, I'll probably be bored of a massive open world game after a few weeks, so getting a new console a couple months later will give me a reason to boot it back up and check out the fancy lights.

They will when they find out that the harddrive has less than 500gb of space that they can use for game downloads. After getting 1tb as standard in the consoles from the previous generation.

Do yourself a favor and buy a 2-8 terrabyte mechanical drive. They are dirt cheap now. Use it to store your Xbox One and Series X games and just keep your 10-20 most played games on the internal drive. At least until those SSDs come down in price.

You do not need to activate. Been using a friend’s old Note 5 on WiFi, and just bought a cheap prepaid with USB-C so I can use my new Kishi controller.

I paid $8.50/mo this morning on GPU to get it back to a year sub. $1 off per month isn't cutting it even close.

I’m not concerned about the storage yet. Unless I’m wrong, the consensus about playing older games on the X series is that they’ll play as they would on the X1X from an external HDD. If I’m wrong about that, please let me know. There are probably 3 next gen games I’ll pick up in the coming year so as long as the X Series will play this gen off an external HDD fine, then I will wait for the SSD drives to go down in price.

Unless I'm wrong as well, that's the impression I've got. Any BC games will play off an external and series x games need to be on the internal to play. You can store series x games on an external (don't know if it can be the same external as BC games) but they need to be transferred to the internal in order to be played.

I am leaning towards Far Cry 4, I believe it has a slightly different gameplay when compared Far Cry 5. I will take a look at Primal as well!

I picked up a couple of these. Seems to be working well, I filled it about half way and that went pretty quick. I'll update here I have any issues.

I bought two of them and they’re tiny. Someone said they run pretty hot, but so far that hasn’t been an issue.

I got to wonder how much work SmartDelivery is going to be for devs. Supposedly games on Series S will be smaller because 4K assets are only going to be installed/downloaded if you have a Series X. We already have games that play in 1080 or 4K depending on which console you play it on with no difference in file size which means some devs might not even bother having separate assets.

Of course the other benefit of SD is the ability to only install single player or multiplayer (or select games in a collection like with MCC) but can you imagine Call of Duty doing this? They already have so few people playing the campaign that they decided against including one with Black Ops 4. This might lead to even more games going multiplayer only.
