• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.

  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Pretty odd but when I loaded up Tetris Effect, it gave me a pop up message saying my GamePass is going to expire soon. The odd thing is that yes it was going to expire but I added 2 years via that EA Play shopto codes. I checked the Xbox and GamePass apps and subscription management and all says I’m good till 2022. Hopefully the error message is just part of some weird things happening during this launch week that’ll get fixed.

Gears Tactics shut my One X down twice last night. Once before it was even done loading the opening mission, and again after halfway through the opening section.

I was going to buy Cold War, but the Modern Warfare battle pass has just completely exhausted me on COD.  It requires way too much grinding to complete.

The Apex Legends battle pass seems to have gone back to being as easy or easier to complete than before after the massive amount of complaining.  I hate the new map though.

Also side note, it's dawning on me that this game is ing looooong. Like they did not need to stretch this shit out with "supply run" unskippable side quests or unskippable "rescue these dumb ass holes you don't know."

The new map seems all about third partying. When I see another squad it seems like your more likely to win if you just hang back and wait til they engage another squad and then third party it. It seems like some of the legends really became bad too, I used to love caustic but he feels so slow on that massive map and they need to increase his gas damage. I’d also like to see the ring close faster and do more damage.

There is a quick-save, it’s just in an unexpected place. Point down on d pad, it’s there with raid and all those other icon options.
Of course we are looking for it in inventory where it used to be. This is actually quicker to get too, so good improvement.

I tried playing the Xbox One version on XSX and it crashed so hard the console forgot my profile (I'm not joking). Seems like decent amount of problems being reported to Activision for X1 version.

I love the game so don’t mind that it’s long. I’m playing on PC and absolutely love the style of game. Was playing this and Wasteland 3 back to back.

If you have a VR capable gaming pc you'll want to pick up Virtual Desktop. Check out this video to help get it up and running. It will allow you to stream Rift and Steam VR games which go on sale much more often than games in the quest store.

If you can play VR on your computer Humble Bundle has a hell of a VR Bundle at the moment. All are Steam VR games.

The games from the quest store I enjoy the most are Beat Saber, Super Hot, FitXR, Space Pirate Trainer, and The Climb.

The quest store hasn't had a sale since the quest 2 launch. Maybe they'll do something for Black Friday. I don't know of any way to get discounted credit for the store, please let me know if you find a way.

Haven’t had any issues here with my Series X but a bunch of the people posting crashes from Gears Tactics are saying it’s happening to them on a One X. And someone else posted about COD Cold War crashing their Xbox One S.

I actually stopped playing the DLC portion of it on the One X once I secured a Series X preorder cause I was sick of the slowdowns during battles and even more with the pause/menu/map slowdowns. Moved it to the internal on the Series X and tried it for a little bit, loading the game is actually way faster, I pulled up the menu OK, pulled up the Map OK, paused it and un-paused it and it just stutters for like half a second. I am yet to go into a big fight but regular gunfights and moving around seems greatly improved. I am pretty sure any kind of lag of any extra stuff will be gone once the Ultimate edition update comes in early 2021 but I am not about to pay $40 more for the full experience, lame they did not upgrade the people that owned the original game plus the DLC's. Funny thing is I installed Control on my son's Series S and it runs super good, no stutters and fast loading, of course is lower resolution.

Another one that runs super smooth is Fallen Order, might have to go for a second playthrough even though I fully completed it, but it was around release time so it might be time, maybe after Valhalla... or Cyberpunk, if it ever comes out...

Psa about having a external hard drive connected and performance.
So I saw on other forums that people were having slow loading or choppy games with a external hard drive plugged in. I confirmed this playing Alien Isolation which seems the most noticeable and several other games. I unplugged my external drive and Alien Isolation runs normally now and games seem to load quicker then before especially Forza Horizon 4. I wonder if there's a bug or power draw issues when using a external?

The hard drive is a 8tb Western Digital and was plugged into the back USB port.

This is regarding Series x.

Also for whatever reason I think Diablo 3 doesn't run at 4k. Doesn't look as sharp as the Xbox one X version.

Spent a good amount of time this summer trying to get caught up on Destiny 2 but in the end I started to get burnt out so I made sure I finished as much of the 'vaulted" content as possible. Fired the game up tonight and I am already feeling like I am 10 steps behind. I really have no idea how they expect to attract new players to the game. The install base must still be a good size. One positive is the game loads a ton faster now that they cut it in half.

Played some Control on the Series X and, wow, what a difference. Runs buttery smooth and also looks much better IMO. Control was never a looker to me but the lighting effects especially seem to get a boost on the XSX. As one who isn’t going to pay for the new version, I’m quite happy with how it plays without the upgrade.

Not sure if you are talking about posters in this thread, but they were talking about Gears Tactics on the One X. Haven't seen much reports of crashing on the Series X. Personal experience everything has been fluid with the exception that New Lucky's Tale quick resumed to a blank screen, just had to go to the home screen force close it then launch it again and all was good.

I'm slightly confused. Nearly all screens that have HDR are 4k. What size do you want 24/27/32?

Here's a link to monitor sales as they're found, specs generally well listed. You will pay more for a 4k/120 monitor than your Series X.

On my Series X, I’ve had a couple occasions after I boot a game up from the internal or an external HDD and the screen goes blank. Turning it off and on fixes it but it’s only happened a couple of times. I put Disneyland Adventures and LEGO DC Villains on the internal drive. Disneyland’s load time was so much better. DC Lego villains was a bit better. Since I’ve mainly been playing Valhalla, I haven’t checked out enough of my other games. I have FIFA 20 on my external HDD and it loaded a bit faster than before through the One X. I wanted to give Destiny 2 another shot on the internal drive but I’ll probably pass after reading all the comments. Besides the load times, I didn’t like the hub and quest structure.
Maybe I’m imagining it, but even games without upgrades and are running on external drives pop more, look cleaner and on a few cases load a bit better. There are still some kinks to work out but so far it’s a been a good start for Xbox. If Valhalla is an early indication of what the console can do, I’m really looking forward to what will be comes out 3 years down the line.

Spoke to soon. I got out of the bed to take a pill before I go to sleep and in the living room my Series X light was blinking in short bursts, a delay, bursts again, delay, etc. Turned it off then back on again and it was fine. Not sure what was going on. I had some games move to a different drive at the time so just in case, I put it in power saving mode. Anyone else have this happen?

Am I the only one playing Gears Tactics on the One X with no problems? I'm nearly at ten hours in and haven't had the game crash on me or anything, only game that has really ever given my One X problems was the title screen of Creature in the Well.

Also side note, it's dawning on me that this game is ing looooong. Like they did not need to stretch this shit out with "supply run" unskippable side quests or unskippable "rescue these dumb ass holes you don't know."

I've played over 20 games, all of the ones mentioned, and the only problem i've had so far was in NBA2K21. I'm just assuming that's because the game is buggy. Guess i'm lucky.

Same thing happened to me (shut down before first mission, shut down after completing first mission).

Tried to play Cod Cold War on a X1S. Shut down my console first try. Second try got one minute into first mission, shut down again. Third try, story mode cinematics are stuttering and skipping, running like trash.

Anyone else getting the same stuff?

I tried playing the Xbox One version on XSX and it crashed so hard the console forgot my profile (I'm not joking). Seems like decent amount of problems being reported to Activision for X1 version.

Had my Series X shutdown while browsing the game store. Also tells my external drive are ready to use every time I turn it on. Definitely some bugs to be worked out.

Psa about having a external hard drive connected and performance.
So I saw on other forums that people were having slow loading or choppy games with a external hard drive plugged in. I confirmed this playing Alien Isolation which seems the most noticeable and several other games. I unplugged my external drive and Alien Isolation runs normally now and games seem to load quicker then before especially Forza Horizon 4. I wonder if there's a bug or power draw issues when using a external?

The hard drive is a 8tb Western Digital and was plugged into the back USB port.

This is regarding Series x.

Also for whatever reason I think Diablo 3 doesn't run at 4k. Doesn't look as sharp as the Xbox one X version.

Spent a good amount of time this summer trying to get caught up on Destiny 2 but in the end I started to get burnt out so I made sure I finished as much of the 'vaulted" content as possible. Fired the game up tonight and I am already feeling like I am 10 steps behind. I really have no idea how they expect to attract new players to the game. The install base must still be a good size. One positive is the game loads a ton faster now that they cut it in half.

I don't really understand why they keep making half-assed attempts to cater to new players. They put in slightly more effort with the Cosmodrome this time from what I can tell, but then new players just jump into the story at whatever expansion they bought? One of the new patrols mentions "former Vanguard commander", clearly referring to Cayde-6, but this really shatters immersion when said to a veteran players, or if the new players then buys the earliest available expansion where Cayde is still alive.

They should make a team focus in making a great experience for new players that just never gets vaulted, if they don't then they just shouldn't bother at all like WarFrame.

I'm not really a fan of how the Cosmodrome came out of the vault either. While there are some story references to it being current, the landscape itself is from Vanilla D1 and shows no signs of the events of Rise of Iron.

I'm slightly confused. Nearly all screens that have HDR are 4k. What size do you want 24/27/32?

Here's a link to monitor sales as they're found, specs generally well listed. You will pay more for a 4k/120 monitor than your Series X.

I bought a monitor a few months ago and it said it's 'HDR Ready', which apparently means I can't use HDR in most of the games I have (i.e. Hitman 2 I can turn on HDR but I can't use HDR in Watchdogs Legion).

Yeah this was FanFest it was a private meet and greet so you won't see it uploaded. You have to take my word for it sadly. I did get myself put up on the live stream via cheering virtual fans.

I think that was me for alien Isolation!


Anyone who has cold war issues make sure you downloaded the series X version not the Xbox one version.

Glad I don't have cold war or assassins creed yet as those seem like they have the most issues. Especially cold war.

I only have the X1 version and was going to pay to upgrade to XSX but that option doesn't exist yet. My son also played a bit on X1 and it crashed during Zombies on there too.

Haven’t had any issues with AC Valhalla on the Series X. What kinds of problems are people having? I’m about three hours in. Great game. Think it’s my favorite of the three new style AC games.

Has anyone else been using remote play with the Series X? I was playing Destiny 2 on my iPhone tonight with hardly any lag and crystal clear picture. The controller works without even being paired with Bluetooth. Pretty impressed with that!

I tried it last night to an iPad. Played fifa and mafia. Lag free. Worked great

Agree, lots of screen tearing in AC. I hate screen tearing. Otherwise the game is gorgeous and I'm enjoying it immensely.

These early reports of bricked consoles are worrying (both PS5 and XSX). Sorry you have to deal with that, hopefully they get it repaired and back to you quickly.

I tried it last night to an iPad. Played fifa and mafia. Lag free. Worked great

I was using remote play from my One X almost daily but took that console down when my Series X came in. Problem is, when I try to remote play from the app, it only shows the One X I don’t have hooked up anymore and not the Series X (even though I used the app to set up the console). I think I need to plug the One X in and deselect the remote play connection on the console but I haven’t had time to try it yet. I’m excited to try remote play on the SX.. eventually.

I've been playing through the campaign offline, and it works just fine. I have the Xbox one version downloaded because I only have a X1S.

The cinematic cutscenes still run like garbage though. Like 10-20 fps with lots of frozen frames.

Campaign pretty good so far, too bad about the shutting down consoles bit.

Do you have an external drive plugged in? I read that video stuttering could be related.
