• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I think, to my understanding, that bloober is working on a Silent Hill 2 remake - which if that's true god help them cus I still think the original Silent Hill 2 (and the original Xbox port - Restless Dreams) are a perfect game and hold up incredibly well even today. Bloober really needs to truly understand what made that game perfect to even have a chance at remaking it effectively and I just don't think they have it in them. My fingers are crossed on the other SH projects though. I still hold hope that KojiPro is somehow involved in one of them.

I will say that you're totally right, and I totally forgot about Slitterhead. I hope there's news about it soon. When it first got announced I was so hyped it looks so up my alley. I have every certainty that it will be better than whatever bloober puts out

I believe it was from Steph Sterling I heard Bloober essentially was reigned in to only do the remake because they couldn't get tone right. This was an episode of Podquisition I can't remember which. Essentially they tried, failed, and Konami said "no, just do this". The non-remake stuff is the curiosity and yeah I'm expecting disappointment.

Anyone know how long it takes for the Game Pass app to update your console's storage status?

Jumped through hoops this week for that NHL 22 quest.  Went to my library, EA Play, NHL 22, download.  Start game, quest doesn't pop.  ???  Exit, restart, still no pop.  Do some looking, the quest only works with the One version, not the Series version.  Tried to queue the One version from the GP app, but didn't have enough room on my internal, and since the app doesn't interact with any other drives, I only had the option to uninstall something.  Shifted stuff around on console, but the app didn't update for the extra space.  Even tried restarting both the app and console, no go.  So I searched through the store for the One version to download.  Quest popped after the download was ready to start.

Also, wasn't the recent library revamp in Games and Apps supposed to flag downloaded games that you don't have a license for anymore, like former Game Pass games or GwG with a lapsed sub?  Or is that still just something in the Insider program?

There’s nothing appropriate about Frosk’s rant in that video even if she heard sexist crap online. It’s the internet, it’s been full of shit people since the 90s. Not only does she demean the majority of their audience but downplays Olivia Munn and Morgan Webb. Her anger seemed legit but the rant didn’t pop up organically in the conversation so it always came across as contrived. I think they thought it would generate some good press but it backfired. Then when the layoffs started happening, Frosk bragged on Twitter about still having her job. I feel bad for the non-personality staff who lost their jobs. I don’t feel sorry for Frosk and whoever else decided to do the stunt and went along with it, because you crapped on the original show people enjoyed and cost people their jobs.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who feels that way about Sessler. Whenever I saw him on TechTV back in the day, I always thought “how is this guy on tv?”

As for TechTV in general, Leo Laporte was the man. I used to listen to his This Week in Tech Podcast for years. I stopped listening just because I couldn’t commit two-plus hours a week to the show.

Between Indiana Black’s sexism rants and Adam Sessler’s political rants, I’m shocked no one wanted to watch the new G4TV. /s

It’s almost like some of us just play video games to step away from hearing about the worlds problems and just to find some happiness in a team of artists work of fiction.

In all reality though, regardless of rants, between Twitch and YouTube giving people content they can search through and find specific to the game or personality they want to listen to, I don't think any sort of large scale gaming TV network can work anymore.

it's a really basic game, the fun is finding out the truth and the truth changes based on your actions. there lot different endings and technically it a very short game can beat in 30 min or less.

i don't regret buying it day one but just know what your buying so no buyer remorse, it a game that can make you think and a game that you got want to explore to find things.

I'm not good either, especially if I have to keep avoiding the same people over and over again because they keep moving. Luckily in A Plague's Tale Innocence you have a decent supply of rocks, I was quite aggressive and killed most of the guards instead of avoiding them. Only thought I'd run out of rocks at one point, but never did. Had to restart a lot of checkpoints though, many times I couldn't hit them before they got me, the aiming could have been better.

The fighting game genre can't grow because the biggest name, SF, is a 6-button fighter compared to most other fighting games which are only 4. It's unwieldy to have the Hard attack buttons mapped to trigger or shoulder buttons. Instead, the genre relies on auto-combo or simple controls to appeal to newcomers, which do nothing to grow the genre.

I don't know, one of the biggest "fighting' games overall is Smash and that has simple controls. Riot's big fighter Project L is also supposed to only use simple inputs. The simple stuff just needs to actually feel fun, not babies first training wheels like auto-combo usually does.

Street Fighter isn't really the biggest fighter either. It's the foundation, well respected, and highly played, but both Mortal Kombat and Tekken usually outsell it.

Also does anyone know the cheapest way to get a movies anywhere account to be screen pass qualified? I have one or two old abandoned Vudu accounts that I used up extra promo codes on when my main accounts maxed their usage. They don't have my main movies but might have some random junk people might be interested in. I've set up MA accounts and linked to those Vudu, but they can't screen pass since they haven't bought anything in years. Can I redeem a MA code from a Blu or possibly do a Vudu disc to digital to get them active?

I don't know about D2D, but redeeming a code will absolutely make the account Screen Pass eligible.

Does the code need to specifically redeem through movies anywhere or do you know if a Vudu codes that ports to movies anywhere works? Need to redeem some Blu ray codes and trying to figure out which ones might do it.

The Forgotten City leaving this month. It always looked a little interesting, but I never got around to it. Any thoughts? Completable in the time left? Worth trying?

TA says 8-10 hours, probably with walkthrough. I'm definitely going to give it a look before it leaves.

But if you have a code for an MA movie that redeems on Vudu, it most likely will also redeem on MA so might as well just redeem it directly on MA to be safe.

That's a game I've been meaning to get around to as well, but just never did. You probably can finish it before it leaves, but it would ruin the experience to crunch a game in a little less than two weeks. One of the biggest pluses for PS Plus that I wouldn't have known before subscribing to both services is that you get a second chance to play Game Pass games. That's where I'm going to finish The Artful Escape, Dragon Quest Builders, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and others.
