• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I’ve been playing a group from TA the last couple weeks, and one of the things we were talking about was nostalgia for long dormant series that were killed by competition. We were talking about how in 2004, NFL 2K5 was regarded as the best NFL game ever, and many still feel that way. But if you boot it up today, it feels dated. Even it’s spiritual sequel, All Pro Football 2K8, felt like a shadow of 2K5.

As much as I’d love to play another AKI developed wrestling game after so many good memories from the N64 WCW/WWF games and Def Jam on the PS2, I’m curious how well it would hold up today. Has AKI developed any games since the days of Def Jam?

I have faith it will work considering the talent involved. Kenny collaborated on Fire Pro recently and plays fighters competitively. He won't let them put out trash and I imagine they would self publish or Devolver so no time pressure.

At least slightly on topic, I got an email from NewEgg earlier reminding me about the discounted 3-month GPU codes.  Figuring $23 for 3-months is a lot better than $15/month, I went ahead and ordered 3 cards.  Didn't get an email about my order, so I went back out to NewEgg and my codes were waiting for me in my account.  First code I went to redeem, i got a message about "needing to convert my account"... which is odd, because I already had GPU and had downloaded games on PC.  But it did it's thing, showed I'd added another 3-months correctly, and now the additional 2 codes have redeemed for another 6 months no problem.

So I dunno why I had so much trouble with the codes from CDKeys, but in the end I think I got more months of GPU by waiting and getting the NewEgg digital codes.  The MILLION dollar question is, if I go back and try to place another order for 3 more codes... given the 3 code limit, will it take the order?  I'm guessing not, and I've got GPU through the end of March next year now... so I'm pretty happy after all the trouble I'd had previously.

Going off topic for a second, cause lots of other people are... is Altered Carbon Season 2 not as good as Season 1?  Or is it just me?

They haven't noticed it yet on the Xbox One. And I wasn't a Gold member during the Oman Wars of the 360 days, but I've heard about people's accounts getting shut down back in the day when they changed regions to claim games. But I went ahead and claimed both of the Kemco games that had been offered because I actually wanted to try them for myself to see how good or bad they really were.

Think there's a memory leak in the UX module(s) somewhere. At least for me, it starts off ok but gets slow as the time goes on. More so if I'm idling than when I'm playing.

I haven't hit any crazy bugs *knocks on wood* but my achievements stopped popping since the last update. I have to come back to the homescreen to know if I got the cheevo.
