General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Not counting pc most other devices (phone, xbox, smart tv, etc) remember your login so they auto-log you back in.

Sometimes when the app gets updated you'll have to log in the 1st time then it will go back to remembering you.

Extractors require power to produce resources. On the Junk tab of the pipboy, pressing RB will display all the types of scrap that junk items can be broken down to even if you don't have any junk on you at the moment. Oh yeah duh now I remember. I did build a generator but it was a small one and it required more power and I didn't have the materials to make one so I just scrapped both and left. It looks like the minor drop a lot of stuff I need for the suit so I'll just find a good place with minors and get most of what I need from them.

I was expecting more from Point Pleasant but it was still a cool little place to visit.
 
SSD prices are going back down, but if you're going next gen this year I wouldn't get one because I don't think you can play next gen games off them, only store them.

You didn't have enough resources to make more generators? Did you build a lot of other things? It depends on the workshop but I can usually build at least six medium generators before it uses my own resources. When you build at a workshop, the workshop has some junk you can use before it uses your own junk. If the junk required is green, that means the workshop has enough, if it is white, it does not and will use yours. I honestly don't know what it looks like when you don't have enough, I've got so much junk I'll never run out. I'm not positive but I think it produces ore not scrap, so you would need to smelt it at the chemistry station with acid. There are lots of Mole Miners at several places in the Ash Heap, and they won't be too high level. There are always level 40 glowing ones at Blackwater Mine right next to Whitesprings, if the Uranium Fever event is running you can get several dozen to spawn.

 
I would be very surprised if there is only a $50 difference between the PS5 and PS5 digital. I know the future is digital but having the option for 4K blu-ray or buying a disk seems worth the $50. It seems like the digital version is there to take the criticism away from a $500+ system (if that is the actual case).

The digital version of the PS5 at that price compared to the standard just seems ridiculous. If that’s going to be the price, either there are going to be a lot unsold units or people buying it just because they can’t find the standard. The prices for the PS4s look overpriced to me.
 
What if the digital version costs more, because it has a much larger harddrive? The Standard PS5 is said to only have an 825gb harddrive. So, if the digital version has a 1.5gb or a 2gb harddrive. I would expect it to cost way more than the disc version.
 
Not sure why people would be surprised at only a $50 difference between the PS5 and the PS5 digital. Blu ray drives don't cost that much in bulk. The price difference between the regular Xbox One S and the Xbox One S all digital was sadly only about $50. The way the PS5 is setup to use it's SSD it can't really change the actual storage size to make a lower cost one with a lower capacity SSD.

I don't think it is a matter of the actual $50 for the drive. That is where I think it works against Sony at that price point. If you are willing to spend $500 on a system then $550 for the drive seems like not a big leap as it is about 10% more. The Xbox One S digital was $250 vs $300. That is a 20% bump. On top of that you are looking to get someone in as low as possible with the S digital and get them hooked on GamePass. $500 with no drive would seem like a huge stretch for me. But again all of this is speculation on pricing and is only my personal take on it.

I am probably just talking out my ass here, but wasn't MS pushing that payment plan with GP bundle through Amazon just pre-COVID and inventory went nuts? Maybe the point of an All Digital version was geared more toward a subscription bundled hardware option to hit the $19.99/mo price point and not so much the up-front cost difference? I am relatively new to the XB1 scene, so my observation window is narrow on this...just seems like that monthly sub is where MS is pushing hard.

 
I Played more Ooblets than I anticipated this weekend. Also I'm grateful I picked up Forza Horizon: Fast and Furious when it was free to help maintain my daily achievements while I perform fetch quests and other tasks in Ooblets.

 
I wasted a good portion of this weekend playing Forager. What a great game and another gem on game pass.

This person predicts Microsoft will undercut Sony at every sku level?? Sorry, I don't think that is happening. I believe Sony and Microsoft will match at the top end as well as last gen hardware and Microsoft will undercut the PS5 digital version with the Series S.

I think Sony discontinues the Pro just like Microsoft is doing to the One X.

The new fancy hard drives ensure that the digital version won't be any larger due to the cost. They'll rely on selling upgraded HDDs and, at least for MS, 'smart delivery' features to only install the parts you want (SP vs MP, individual campaigns like in MCC) to minimize the storage footprints.

I hear enough people comment that they own so few disc based games this gen (myself included) that I think the market is finally ready for an all-digital console, but I agree that having all-options-available is preferable. I now own quite a few 4k movies on disc, but I'm so used to digital games not needing discs that it's annoying to have to swap them out.

 
I spent this weekend mopping up the last few Triumphs to unlock the Shadow title in D2, a very productive weekend!

I am somewhat surprised they are not doing some kind of external BD drive option to push more to the digital consoles. I do not know the logistics of using external drives but seems like a good way to reduce form factor/cost/sku...

Yeah, I paid $60 for it last October and that was a deal, $30 for the game and the season pass made me want to double dip on PS4. The DLC has been pretty good, too.

Thanks! I've wanted that title since I saw it but I didn't have a crew and my desire to LFG waxes and wanes regularly. Bungie vaulting the Leviathan for an unknown amount of time (plus remember how much I love that armor) kicked me in the ass and I got it done. That Flawless raid was intense, but the randos that I did it with were pretty damn great.

I think my pin just recently shipped, but who knows. I had it shipped to my office and by now I would be surprised if I how to drive to work. Maybe one day I'll go back and I'll have a package waiting for me.

I think I'll work on Blacksmith next, but I'm pretty burnt out on LFG so I might lay low for a few days.

I live close enough to Gearbox's HQ that I participate in discussion and play-testing panels and before the world shut down they were bugging me at least once a week to visit them about BL3. I didn't want to do it because they required having prior experience with the game and now that I own it I might actually play it so I can participate (if they ever have those panels again).

Off topic, I love Nintendo and all their games and such, but man they have legit the most trash ass fan base. The expectations that people have from a ten minute Nintendo Direct (or any Direct or announcement) and how upset they get when Nintendo somehow doesn't fulfill all their dreams is just embarrassing. Nobody bitches more about Nintendo than Nintendo fanboys.

I guarantee people will be upset after Thursday too. It’s never enough, even if Microsoft were to have a Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable, Splinter Cell exclusive, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, and Battletoads and 3 new IPs, ppl would still find something to complain about that they thought was missing.

Not sure why so many people keep predicting $400 for the digital version. It's already been said that the PS5 costs at least $450 to make just in materials. Sony can't afford to take a loss on each one sold like Microsoft can.

Indeed, you are right. I would be one of those people lol. Only game I have interest in out of those would be Fable, and I've never even played any of the Fables before, I just love RPGs. Perfect Dark could also be interesting if they go a Deus Ex route with it. Other than that, they can keep all those games. Those weren't good enough 10 years ago, they definitely would not be good enough now to put MS at an equal level with Sony (not including if they were to do 3 new IPs, which isn't happening).

I can see Sony not having a choice if the digital series S is $400.

It’s all speculation at this point. Sony/MS could drop the X/PS5 at $750 for all we know at this point..
I am betting MS will undercut Sony though, even if it’s $0.01 lol.

I hit level 20 before I finished episode 2. Currently at level 24. I generally worked through the daily events to build up my cars, with some progress toward the story. When the McLaren event was winding down, I focused on the story to build up some gold, and was able to auto-race at least one route through most events. So I guess I did some proactive grinding. Currently have 100% complete for the first 2 episodes, the first part of episode 3 and 4/6 in part 2.

But I hit a wall with the final race in episode 3, part 2 - Street Classic opponent at 577 PI. Tried with a 549 PI 1973 Ford Capri. Was able to get by the 572 at the start of that event, but no go with the "boss". Made numerous attempts, but my car has a very touchy trigger at the race start, and I couldn't match the opponent's boost. While I should be able to level it up to get a little ahead the opponent's PI, it's currently a 3 star car, so if I leveled it enough to win that race, I'd have it near maxed out and it might be outclassed if it's needed later. I already have a 4 star Street Classic that could be leveled higher, so I'll need to research which one would be the better one to level up.

 
I have 1 achievement left in Forza Street.  It's called Forza Street because there's one street in the game, and you're going to see it a LOT.

It's comical seeing how little the progress bar moves when you get a duplicate for a 4 star car.  I guess that comes along with almost every gacha/lootbox game being exactly the same.

Ha! I am stuck on the exact same part! I think my Street Classic is 530? I have a long way to go.

But I hit a wall with the final race in episode 3, part 2 - Street Classic opponent at 577 PI. Tried with a 549 PI 1973 Ford Capri. Was able to get by the 572 at the start of that event, but no go with the "boss". Made numerous attempts, but my car has a very touchy trigger at the race start, and I couldn't match the opponent's boost. While I should be able to level it up to get a little ahead the opponent's PI, it's currently a 3 star car, so if I leveled it enough to win that race, I'd have it near maxed out and it might be outclassed if it's needed later. I already have a 4 star Street Classic that could be leveled higher, so I'll need to research which one would be the better one to level up.
