General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I'm $11 away from the Summer Spotlight bonuses with nothing terribly interesting to buy from the list of games available. Outside of the $30+ games anyone have any recommendations? Already grabbed Destroy all Humans and its a pretty good remaster so far. Bug Fables looks cool but it wont count toward Spotlight sale so I'm going to wait for a little bigger discount on that.

Started No Man's Sky tonight. It is pretty decent. It is weirdly holding my hand through the game right now but I am assuming that it will soon just open up and allow me to explore. I did get 3 achievements which now set my total back on the 5 or 0 ending so now I have to decide which is more important  :razz: .

They could update FH3 still maybe... I run it at 1440p at 120hz on Windows 10 and can't go back to the console version really.

Weird, I thought FH3 was 4K/60 but Digital Foundry's old video says 4K/30. To me, I always thought FH3 seemed smoother than FH4's 4K/30 mode. It really looks great in 4K HDR. If anything, it may be worth picking up just for how different the locations are compared to the other 3 games.

Anyone know why if I go through the link from True Achievements I see the Fallout 3 DLC on sale for $1.99 each but if I go to buy it I would have to use my credit card. Yet when I go on my Xbox One X the DLC is showing full price at $4.99 each and I can use my Bing space bucks.

Fallout New Vegas DLC is also on sale at $2.49 each but at least that is showing on sale on my Xbox One X and can use my space bucks.

I mean the store has been super "glitchy" while they move over the 360 stuff to the Xbox One/Series store front. Why we've seen also these  miracle re-listings and weird things showing up free. I'd maybe wait it out a couple days and see if it corrects itself.

That's interesting with Forza Horizon 3 locked at 4k/30fps on console, means they would most likely have to do some actual work with it for a boost on the Series X and I'm leaning I'd doubt they are going to. I only have a few Hot Wheels achievements left anyway and I think I can officially retire that game around the 250 hour mark. 

That's still something MS hasn't come out and addressed really with the BC just kind of hinted at. There is supposedly a lot of graphical improvements with the BC program on series X, like some weird think they came up with to do HDR on older games. The 360 stuff that got the full treatment like AssCreed and Red Dead 1 looked really good on the Xbox One X.

I have just fully upgraded all weapons and accessories in Forager and have only just found out that you can move items around in your backpack by holding down the A button on the controller, on the item you want moved, then after a couple seconds you will be able to move it. Wish I knew that earlier lol.

Yes as I had put the DLC for Fallout 3 in my cart for now to see if it does correct itself over the next few days.

Worst case I will use credit card on website, I just rather use space bucks than real money.......it's the CAG way lol

 
So what’s the likelihood of Horizon 3 being games with gold next month or getting a steeper discount before delisting?

Horizon 3 is my favorite Forza and while I have it on disc I’d like to double dip and get the digital license before it’s too late.

I could be wrong, but i believe even the “ultimate edition” doesnt get you all DLC cars. It gives you something like the first 6 dlc packs. Any DLC car packs after that had to be purchased individually. Big mess and probably confuses people into thinking they own all available DLC when they dont. I have FH3 ultimate and never bought the additional car packs that are $6.99 each. Annoying that the Ultimate edition has such a big discount, but they wont put the last few DLC car packs on sale.

Gears Tactics and MS Flight Simulator should be. Anyone complaining about a consoles launch lineup must be new to gaming (while also not realizing we're in the middle of a global pandemic). X1/PS4 launch lineups were mediocre.

No need for anyone to panic, even if it's delisted, the servers should be up for a while yet. Look at Forza Motorsport 6, it was GwG a year ago and we can still dl paint jobs.

Also, if you're going to buy the DLC, wait for the All Downloads pack which will most likely go on sale until it is delisted. At least that's what happened with FH2 and FM6 unless I'm not remembering correctly.

I mean yes, but that is about the most barebones launch ever. Things like Cyberpunk weren't even gonna release until a few months later already. There is almost no reason for me to get the SX while I have my X1X currently.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make. You were going to buy an SX just for Halo? Even though you could play it on the 1X?

Phil was already out there months ago saying that nothing was delaying the console, and he would have no problem delaying Infinite. So none of this is surprising. I'm sure this was the exact plan hours after it got panned on their showcase, just let the heat die down a bit. For what it's worth, I thought it looked like Halo more than ever, but it did seem very much an oversight not to launch with Ray-Tracing, they can at least do that now.

 
More like Halo Infinite Delays, eh? EH?

This is definitely a bad look for the launch since everyone wants a killer app to show off the hardware, and Series X upgrades to games like Cyberpunk or Doom Eternal won't be out until next year. If the price is right I may still cash in the MS Rewards and upgrade, but it just won't be the same. 

I'd rather they delay it though, and put out the best game they can, rather than release it unfinished and patch it like ReCore or FFXV. That is by far my least favorite trend of this console generation.

I actually just told my wife, with the Halo delay, maybe I’ll pick up a PS5 this year and some of the PS4 games I never played and Ratchet and Clank. Then next year grab the new Xbox once Halo is out. I think I’ll have to wall mount my tv so I can fit that PS5 on my Tv stand.

I’ve never owned a PlayStation before but God of War and Spider-Man looked fun so if they are BC then that could work for me.

Honestly after the Halo news its seems even more like both of these consoles, PS5 and XSX, are being rushed out the door too soon.  PS5 is launching with a spiderman expansion and now xbox will limp out the door without its biggest reason to purchase.  Neither seem to like the price they have to charge for their respective consoles.  

Is it obvious i am disappointed by the halo delay?

If money is an object, there's enough to do on a PS4 that it may scratch the itch without buying a PS5. I've barely touched mine even though I have bought most of the exclusives I want on it, so maybe I'll just play my PS4 more while I wait on a new console...

I’ve thought about that but it seems worth the extra $200 or so to future proof.
