• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I have bought 2 games so far and the Duke Nukem game did not count on the punchcard.

I've avoided the punchcards in the past cause I didn't want to force myself to hit a price threshold. My game was DB Fighterz for ~$17 and that would've hit $40 for me. Now I'm trying to find $15 of games just to get the $5 on principle and I don't think its worth it.

I’ve seen various people report different amounts of time since purchase before it showing up on the punchcard. I definitely was going to wait a few days to buy anything because I figured there might be issues with it. Ugh fix your patch bullshit Microsoft.  Modern Warfare patch for today is 66 GB on XBox, while it’s just over a gig on PS4 and PC.  Every patch lately feels like I’m redownloading the entire game (I’m looking at you, Bloodstained).

That’s a lot of games. I don’t have that many cds or dvds but I look at them and just think about all the space they have. Most of my games early in this gen were physical but quickly moved to digital. I just bought a physical game this week before the sale and it’s the first non-digital game in years. Still trying to decide whether to return it and buy the digital copy...

Digital is so much easier for lazy cheap asses like me that can't drive due to health problems, and the nearest store to me that sells games is a three mile walk with a crappy selection. The weekly sales on digital games, and websites having discounted video game gift cards all of the time, definitely doesn't hurt the choice to go all digital.

Just popped the final achievement in Forza Street. Posted back on the second that I thought I had a month of grinding left to build up cars. Helped that I could beat cars 20-25 PI higher than mine without too much trouble in the last batch of events.

For part 3 event 6 I have trouble with the Classic 605 so I would imagine I will have trouble with the final race a blue 607. My best car is now a Porsche 904 Carrer GTS Classic (Blue) with 580. Although I can beat a Classic 595 with it.

When they said it was being discontinued, I think they actually sold through the vast majority of stock. The One S All Digital is also not in stock.

Costs $250, probably a long turnaround with Covid, and no guarantee I'll get my same Scorpio back - however, it'd get a little warranty, and they would have to repair or replace it if anything else happened... perhaps a couple of years from now parts would be so scarce that they would upgrade a future repair to a Series X console instead?

If you're really dead set on keeping it and not wanting for the next gen, just replace the power supply yourself. Cheap and not too difficult. I had to replace the disc drive on my PS4 pro last year and didn't think twice about it. Just watch YouTube tutorials. No sense in spending hundreds of dollars on a discontinued console in my opinion.

A PI gap of 27 is pretty tough to overcome, even if you perfect the launch and corners. I needed to rerun some races if I was racing someone with a 20-25 PI advantage, or switch up my cars. The final event seems to be an exception, since I'm pretty sure I used the Lambo and Ford for a couple of the high 62x races. Though I had plenty of repair kits to rerun races if needed. Though I was prepared to give up and continue grinding. I tried it just to see how I stacked up, and was able to get through it.

Some cars are also better matchups than others, though I never really figured out how the stats worked. My car with a speed advantage gets passed by a non-boosted opponent. My car with a disadvantage in speed and acceleration, but better braking, handling and launch, can often win.

Wait to see the price of the series S/X. The S May very well be $299 in which case you’d only have to shell out $50 more for a next gen console.

I would go with the 40 dollar route and change the power supply if you are wanting it for just a back up to the series x. If you aren’t getting an a series x for a long while you may want to go with the official repair.

I had a lightning strike two years ago, replaced the power supply in my S it ran great until I sold it off. Sold it because I have a Scorpio and bought a cyberpunk console. It’s like a 10 min swap. Spent way longer getting the clips off. I am 100% for just replacing the power. Get it running sell it off later when you get a new one or keep it in a different room.

Borderlands is an RPG shooter and Doom and Bulletstorm are fast action shooters. I prefer RPG elements personally so for me, Borderlands is the superior choice of those 3 but it mostly depends what your into I suppose.

Alright with the fresh $5 in space bucks that Microsoft gave me I am looking at Borderlands, Doom, or Bulletstorm. Having never played any of them, what’s your advice on which to get or any other suggestions in the $5-$15 range that are on sale and will help me spend that money before I forget about it and lose it!

I personally found Doom's mechanics to be quite dated...as in 20 years dated.

I would go with Borderlands

Borderlands is a looter shooter. You like a funnier destiny or diablo, get this. I didn't get more than three hours.

Bullet storm is basically a funnier gears of war. I made it halfway through.

Doom is a faster-paced titanfall/cod. Pure FPS. It was hands down my fav of the three. One of top 10 FPS campaigns I have ever played. My recommendation w/o knowing your personal preferences.

EDIT borderlands will have most replay value, if you enjoy grinding boss fights for loot

While I like Borderlands, the first one feels bland compared to the Handsome Jack Collection. I haven’t played Doom or Bulletstorm enough to give a strong recommendation but the gameplay in Bulletstorm is incredibly fun.

Third vote for Borderlands.

Thinking back to the original on the 360, I never read the reviews just saw the scores and bought the GoTY Edition when it was on sale. I ended up playing the game 8 times, 2 times for each character. Farming for weapons was never so much fun. I bought the X1 version but haven't gotten around to playing it yet cuz I know I won't be able to play anything else for a while.

Doom 2016 is about skill. Bulletstorm is solid but fun. Borderlands is toilet humor and hunting loot. They each have their moments. Doom is more likely to go back on Gamepass, although the way BL3 is dropping out wouldn't shock me.

I wish Rock Band Blitz would go backwards compatible. Fun, under appreciated game. Also whoever mastered those songs for all the Rock Band games did a better job than the original producers.
