• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

whats with all these xbox 360 game updates??

Patching them to run on Xbox Series X and S, I assume. Since the enhancements on those consoles are somehow different from the Xbox One X enhancements that they got this generation.

When you grab Armed & Dangerous get it from the old Xbox 360 marketplace site, not the new Xbox One site. If you get it from the new site it will treat it like an Xbox One GWG game and it will not be permanently added to your account.

Maybe within that time the rumored new model will be out. I don’t know that I believe a 4K version is coming but a bump in specs to get to a consistent 1080 60.

Maybe within that time the rumored new model will be out. I don’t know that I believe a 4K version is coming but a bump in specs to get to a consistent 1080 60.

Nintendo and 4K gaming makes as much sense to me as Nintendo and stable online play. Though I believe 1080 console is doable.

When you grab Armed & Dangerous get it from the old Xbox 360 marketplace site, not the new Xbox One site. If you get it from the new site it will treat it like an Xbox One GWG game and it will not be permanently added to your account.

The last article I read said that Sony was upping their shipping game, spending more to ensure a decent supply at launch. Will still be interesting to see how they handle first party preorders, which is something new.

It’s a good game, similar to Dark Souls in some ways. The Deluxe Edition isn’t worth it imo, they made some of the saber skins free and you don’t get additional story content or anything.

It’s fun and has an entertaining story, but I guarantee you it will be cheaper on BF. Most likely $20-25 at Walmart/BB/Target. You might consider a used copy or CDkeys to save a few dollars.

Definitely not. It's not very good at all. If you think the combat looks good, go play Sekiro. If you think the overall gameplay/look looks fun, go play Tomb Raider (2013). Both far better games.

Tomb Raider was good for it’s time, but that was 2013. Sekiro is a different beast and overly difficult for most players.

Jedi Fallen Order has 81% on metacritic and while it has some flaws, it’s the best Star Wars game in the last 2-3 years. As a Souls-like game, it lacks the depth of something like Old Republic but the graphics are impressive, decent length and has me looking forward to a more polished sequel. And they added free dlc that lets you build challenge rooms and compete against pre-built challenges after you finish the main game.

Just my two cents, but worth at least $20-25.

If you like Star Wars then Jedi Fallen Order is a no-brainer.  I could do without the Dark Souls combat myself. That's why there is an easy setting in the game thank god!

Also, there is running on walls a lot because it is a Respawn developed game. They must really love that game play mechanic. I don't remember seeing Jedi running on walls in any of the movies.  Respawn is like "We need to make wall running a force power! Yeah, that will be awesome!"

And ordering directly from Sony is where i think a majority of their allocation is going to go. It sounds like retail is already backing off any kind of "Black Friday" push in physical stores, with Walmart actually closing on Thanksgiving. I wonder how they will handle the launches of both Xbox and PS5, haha those lines looked long before they needed to space people 6ft apart.

I was already going to keep my X1X and that promotion doesn’t even come close to tempting me to trade it in. Unless someone is truly scrounging for pennies to get the new system, I can’t see how this would be an enticing deal.
I live in North Carolina and we still have a lot of lockdown measures in place so let me know if it’s different for you but the GameStops closest to me have been almost empty anytime I’ve gone in. They are in good locations and previously had good foot traffic but now I’m usually the only customer and if I’m not, there is only one other.
That’s part of the reason I’m gonna pre-order that morning at the store.

Project Xcloud open beta game streaming on Android smartphones starts today. Apparently it can be done through the GamePass app, as long as you have a GamePass Ultimate subscription. When I was a closed Alpha tester, we had to download a separate app. 150 games should be available to try starting sometime today.

Yeah the prices have been pretty crazy but since covid-19 hit a lot of people have been looking for game systems and the Xbox x has been discontinued. I believe only the normal s will be available this holiday and those are probably winding down in production with the series s out. You can basically sell your Xbox One X at this point and fund a series S or spend around $200 more for the series X.

Really fun classic platformer, but I played them on PS1 growing up so I can't claim to be unbiased. The remaster is really well done. I bought it for $32 at launch I think with GCU, and traded it in within a month for about $25/30. I don't know if I would have bought it to own, unless you have MS funny money to blow.

FYI looks like the Xcloud Game Pass Mobile Sorta Beta Full Release is rolling out. Downloaded the update on my old Note 5, didn’t get to try it out yet though. I think what a lot of people are saying is they could sell their old consoles to an individual for more than trading in. This may be true since I see those comments a lot and there are apparently some bad decision makers out there who will pay you $250 for your used stuff that they could purchase new for $300, etc.

Personally, as much as I don't like Gamestop, I appreciate that they offer a way to offload my stuff without having to arrange a meeting at the local police station so I don't get shot when selling someone my Xbox to a stranger. The ease of use Gamestop offers is worth saving the hassle of Craigslist, etc. even if the trade value is "low."

I'm in a different dilemma, I have the Gears 5 X and a 500 Million Pro. They both seem to sell for more going by ebay prices. Depending on the PS5 price I may just keep the 500 Million Pro. you have to trade it in during the promotion, when you preorder. So you will be without that console from 9/22 or whenever you preorder until November 10th.

I kind of agree that GS is definitely painless and easier to use than Ebay, they obviously charge for that convenience. I am kind of in the same boat as well. I hate dealing with randos on craigs list or other market sites, but I also think a One X should get at least $250, but I get it that they then take the risk on of having to be able to resell it.

Same, except it's a X1S that'll be traded and the only issue is the headphone port doesn't seem to work. I'm sure they'll try to boot up a disc when you trade it in, and I know they test input on controllers, but I doubt they'll test the headphone port.

I've been selling on ebay since 2008, only time I had a problem was when I sold a digital code, someone filed a charge back. When the 500 million PS4 Pro came out I ordered 2 and decided to keep the headset bundle from Gamestop and sold the extra for $1000 on ebay. Also sold a Spider-man Pro and God of War Pro, Vader PS4 and 2 Nintendo DS. Just get insurance on big items, take lots of pictures and have the buyer sign for the package.

Did just sell some Rambo 4k movies and had a guy not pay but that isn't bad because I can relist.

If I could get one for $200, I might consider an X1X instead of Serie S or X. Gamestop sells them for over $350, local used store is in the $300 range, and it's hard to justify paying more than $250 when a Series S is $300. MS did a good job not over-producing them and selling through their stock, I was recently in Target and didn't even see any One S systems there. 

I may just wait until November to see what kind of deals happen for gaming laptops or PCs. With Game Pass and a neglected Steam account, I'd get a lot of use out of one. This generation I waited until the first hardware revision and caught up on my 360 backlog, and that is also tempting to do, especially with a similarly neglected PS4.

With lacking launch games on both consoles and significantly better gpu's releasing this month, conditions (for me, at least) are perfect to focus on pc gaming for a time (+handheld on ) and then consider the inevitable console revisions when they're announced.

It took three years for the XBox One S revision to come out so I guess that maybe how long I'll be sitting out this next gen for the next revision with bigger SSD unless there's some crazy bonkers glitch (same with PS5). Besides that, looking at my legit backlog and not BS Game Pass backlog and holy shit, I barely put a dent in it, especially compared to previous gen.
