• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone here defending the company. All I’ve seen is people saying what experiences they have had. Those thoughts may help others decide whether they want to buy it as is or wait.

For me personally, I think it runs well and looks nice overall on my Series X with only one major bug (plenty of smaller ones) and not a single crash. I’m enjoying it. So maybe that will help others who have a XSX.

I'm assuming the Disney+ mention is the perk they offer. There's a 30 day free trial for new Disney+ members if you have GPU, so if you've already subscribed to D+ you can't get the perk. Unless there's another D+ offer to new GPU subscribers I don't know about.

My kids play Fort nite and I got them a battlepass. Got 2 free months of Disney+ for that and was already subscribed. So Fort nite finally was worth it lol.

Damn, that’s surprising. I had heard Take Two was buying Codemasters. Never even heard EA linked to Codies. Looks like EA outbid T2 by 30%.

I’m not sure I really like either option for Codies. Take Two’s recent sports franchise history shows F1 and Dirt would end up a micro transaction bloated pile of crap. Want to race for Mercedes in your F1 career? Gotta buy that contract for $10! As for EA, F1 Ultimate Team would likely be a thing, and they have a long history of kneecapping devs.

As much as I enjoy Codemasters’ big franchise, F1, Dirt and Grid are very much niche franchises. I could see either company trying to broaden the appeal of these games and succeeding only in alienating the franchises fans without drawing in anyone new.

My friend is playing the game on a VCR Xbox One and yes he’s had a few crashes and issues but he’s not letting it ruin his enjoyment of the game at all. He’s really enjoying it.

On another note I can’t help but laugh at the oh poor CD Projekt Red people working overtime, sometimes 6 days a week. For many of us that’s a normal thing.

You still believe in PR. That’s the problem. How old are you? I mean did people really honestly believe that such an ambitious game was really gonna run well on their 7 year old system?

I mean yes CDPR ed them people without a doubt. At the same time people should have waited or realized that a shit ton of less ambitious games run like shit on a base PS4 or Xbox.

Either way CDPR is offering refunds. Go get those refunds and move on. These are video games we’re talking about here. It’s not life or death.

This and other comments are good points. The thing I always think about when I hear about how tough the gaming industry work conditions are, is that there are plenty of developers that I've heard say they could be making more doing business software, etc. Most people in the gaming industry should not be there by force or situation and probably have lots of good options. They do it because that's what they want to be doing and, unless you're brand new at it, you should already know what sacrifices that involves. It's similar to being a small business owner. Plenty of small business owners could have an easier lifestyle and probably make similar or more money, but they choose to do it for other reasons.

EDIT: Also here's a list of perks from the CDPR job postings that appears for every job. I have a feeling these are above-average compared to most jobs and probably somewhat normal for the gaming industry:

A chance to work in a booming industry, within an international team.
Private health care (Enel Med, Medicover or Lux Med).
24/7 gym for CDPR employees with personal trainer on-site and a Multisport card.

Not worth it right now. Series S is $300 and the X sells for around $200ish used. I know the S doesn't have the horse power or 4k but its gonna play next gen games for a few years. I'd argue only get a X if you get one super cheap or hate digital games.

I guess the missing 4k dvd player is also another factor. Also some xbox one/360/og xbox games run on the old xbox one s profile so you'll probably get the highest frame rates but lower resolutions. I know people were saying Halo 5 doesn't look great on series S. Going forward games will have series s or x profile.

Totally agree. You may not feel like games are helpful right now or just have no interest in them but in a couple of weeks you might have totally different feeling. With a situation like you are in, my experience was similar, your emotions go through a constant roller coaster. Feeling numb to furious to a need for escapism. Seller’s remorse will only compound what you are feeling.

You can probably expect to get from $200-250 for an XBox One X (more for a limited/collector edition) in good condition.  Maybe $160-200 for a PS4 Pro by comparison.  The new consoles are out there, but I definitely got a lot of hits on mine before selling from parents looking to get their kids a better console, but not willing to spend the time or money on the next gen consoles.  I was sure to make sure the people that were buying it were aware of the next gen existing and these not being it because the last thing I wanted was someone to buy my X1X/PS4 for their kid only for them to find out later they were looking for a Series X/PS5, that's the kind of thing that can ruin Christmas.

After Christmas it will probably be less as there will not be the people looking to get gifts and those that held off will probably be wanting to wait to upgrade to next gen.

If you’re in a state where they split 50/50 in assets, you might be ok. In California, if you’re married for more than 10 years, financial support can be split 50/50 and/or the higher financial earner pays for spousal support at least temporarily. If the spouse financially supported you over the years, that spouse can’t just leave you hanging at least financially. That’s spousal abandonment. Get legal advice to see what options are available to you at your state.

I don't know your situation, but I probably wouldn't go sell a bunch of your stuff (or anything really) until you verify what you can do with an attorney. It seems likely that if you have "stuff" that your spouse doesn't care about, it'll probably be easier to keep than if you get money for said stuff and then your spouse will want half of the money. Of course, if you're only talking about one console and nothing else; no big deal.

I'd still not recommend making any unnecessary decisions right now for several reasons. Humans are terrible at separating emotions from rational and factual decisions and life and its choices will look a lot different in the future.

Some series X enhanced games work from external. Halo MCC is one of them and Rocket League I believe. It's not too difficult transferring titles between hard drives.

Some games XS enhanced games work from external. However, in most cases XS enhancements will not be enabled until you copy and run the game from SSD storage.

Guess we'll see how this goes tomorrow with the Best Buy thing. Seems like it's going to be a disaster with both consoles going on sale about the same time. I've had a SeX since launch but this is going to be a last ditch effort to get one for my friend's kid.

I sold my cyberpunk Edition with the Johnny figure for $400 on offer up.

Did you play Cyberpunk on it before you sold it? Curious how it played on a console it was 'bundled' with. An ex-coworker bought one of these bundles with extra controller and I think the external HD as well for his son back in like June. Hopefully it works well enough on that console.

Im not sure why people are getting refunds for cyber punk. When avengers came out it sucked pretty bad and there were no refunds given for that game.

The last couple years has made me realize. Dont buy a game at launch wait a year or two untill its actually finished instead of being a paying beta tester.

I'm playing on 1X. It plays fine most of the time but there are sporadic areas with bad frame drops. The recent patch deemed to kill many of the random crashes, I haven't had any since. General bugs are still there, but mostly visual. I'd recommend frequently saving, I had one mission where an NPC just bugged out and stopped moving so the mission wouldn't continue.

Visually it's still good, the lighting and some textures are the main downgrade compared to (high-end) PC.

No. I never redeemed it on my gamertag so it was included with the console.
