• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

They aren't great, but you get used to it after a while.

It also sucks more early on because of how weak you are. Once you get powered up a few hours in you don't need to rely on it as often.

I think it’s because CashApp is considered a “prepaid” card. I’m hoping that the deal lasts until tomorrow as then it will be 10 days out exactly.

(Technically the CashApp boost is supposed to be good for 7 days but I’ve never seen 25% before so not sure if it was a mistake. It’s been 5% for probably months now).

To any more casual Destiny 2 players, I'd recommend logging in and doing the Synthweave introduction quest sometime this season. This is the new Transmog system that allows you the take any non-Exotic armor you've unlocked and turn it into a cosmetic item. This quest takes maybe an hour and gives you 10-11 consumables on each of your classes.

Someone calculated the time it takes to grind through the normal process and it's over a week of IRL playtime per season, not even including the final step that is minimum 1 hour times 30.

They should combine mass effect and halo into one universe. It would open more story options. The allaince versus the covant. Terrians verus elites. Master chief and shepard on one ship. They have pretty similar stories and could easily fit into the same universe.

Master chief comes back after being gone with the halo rings and now humans have found the first mass relay and are using the prometian technology found on mars in the mass effect story. Both stories talked about how the colony worlds were attacked by aliens. Reach could have beenvon one side of the galaxy and eden prime on the other. Hell you could even bring the flood back in and have one of the council worlds destroyed and they call up master chief for his experience. Chief could fight the reapers.

No, I agreed with you. Mass Effect is a far superior game with the story and narrative. Halo was a great game but it hasn't been the same since Bungie left. The last Halo game was very bad and so far Halo Infinite doesn't look too hot either. It seems they don't have no clue where to take the Halo story or who should be the antagonist now.

Halo needs a "what if" cross over with Metroid (Prime).  Some slipspace rupture mixes with a cosmic storm that tears a hole into the universe, corresponding to a similar event in the Metroid universe.  Covenant become fused with Metroid-esque embodiment, and Samus comes over to the Halo-side in her ship.  She and Master Chief join forces to correct the event, closing the portal and saving the universes.  

2 player cross play.  Nintendo consoles play as Samus, Xbox consoles play as Master Chief.*  In an unprecedented event, cross play is specific.  Play solo with an AI partner, or join 2-Player across brands to fight the space menace.  Master Chief is more blunt in his combat, being more physical and deadly.  Samus is more graceful in movement, using suit abilities in environments to solve puzzles and a host of beams to meet the ever increasing Covenant-Metroid threat.

Cross play competitive multiplayer, with Spartan vs Bounty Hunter, or Spartan vs Spartan and Bounty Hunter vs Bounty Hunter modes.

Samus Morph Ball rolling around Grunts, while Master Chief punches Metroids in their jellyfish-like bodies.  2 abrupt dialog leads to move the story along, yet inform the audience of what is happening.  Varied combat among situations and encounters, with boss fights that focus on teamwork to beat and outwit your opponents.

Won't happen, but I'd enjoy the idea of the two armored warriors joining forces but keeping their unique skills to meet the confrontations.

*Perhaps release an update or paid DLC that later allows swapping cross play options to the alternate character, or even playing as both with one type of system.  Nintendo would likely be a major hold out on this.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the Halo lore, story, and gameplay back then and I also loved those live action mini movie they made. Those movies were very well done, especially the Deliver Hope movie where Kat was running through the battlefield to deliver that nuke. I would download those live mini action movies on my 360 and watched them over and over again. Halo was definitely a special game back then but it just hasn't been the same since Bungie left. I think the way how 343 is handling the story and lore of Halo is really hurting the legacy of the franchise.

Halo and Mass Effect lore would take a lot of work to mesh together. Totally different science and technology, and the galactic cycle and Reapers don't fit well with Forerunner and Flood.

Going less broad I'm not sure how well the Covenant would do against the combined forces of the Citadel space either. While I would say the UNSC is the more competent force, ME technology is way ahead of Halo stuff aside from on-board Slipspace drives, MJOLNIR/Spartans, and Smart AI. All the railgun based weapons would wreck shit in both small and large scale combat, plus Biotics.

As far as in game stories go, I do think it's kind of unfair to directly compare a series of full blown RPGs to what has always been pretty linear FPS. Though yeah, it could definitely be better even with the constraints. Bungie Halo always had massive stakes but only focused on a handful of characters that are always in a warzone, and they've always been better at background lore stuff and text dumps, going back to Marathon. 343 Halo story is just a mess in game.

I would actually take the "borrow elements from each other" in a different direction. If you took the expanded universe of the Halo books and actual used it, you could do some cool stuff in a Bioware style RPG, though you'd probably want to place it before the AI uprising from Halo 5. Decent amount of factions around, plus the Forerunner stuff. I don't think Bioware would do well with a linear Halo style story though, judging from Anthem.

I’m just glad Halo Infinite will be on GamePass day one. I hope it’s fun. And I’m late to the party but I’m having fun with Outriders. I’m only like World 7 and Tier 4 Expedition. I mainly play Solo and only played a few times with randoms. Wish the loot drop for solo players on Expeditions are better though. I get the same amount of loot farming the Hunt at the Dunes. I guess it’s best to get to World 15 and then play Expeditions. We shall see.

To any more casual Destiny 2 players, I'd recommend logging in and doing the Synthweave introduction quest sometime this season. This is the new Transmog system that allows you the take any non-Exotic armor you've unlocked and turn it into a cosmetic item. This quest takes maybe an hour and gives you 10-11 consumables on each of your classes.

Someone calculated the time it takes to grind through the normal process and it's over a week of IRL playtime per season, not even including the final step that is minimum 1 hour times 30.

While I agree that trying to unlock all of the Synthesis whatevers for each class is very grindy (after the freebies you mentioned), the outrage in the community (or at least on DTG) is WAY overblown. They are so sensitive about any monetization of cosmetics in the game...

Wait, just confirming, regarding the rebate. If I click through the rebate link on Edge, then purchase ME through the MS/Xbox store with the punchcard clicked and logged into my account with GPU, all three (rebate, EA discount and punchcard) will stack, right?

I'm not particularly bothered by the grind itself, more that the material is time gated (2 min per single drop) rather then based on kills as they said or even activity completions, as well as the arbitrary limit of 10 items per class per season rather than just 30 per account.

There are a lot of other things that helped rile up the community, like Eververse shaders going up 650% percent due to a nonsensical reason, Raid shaders that you unlock the "privalege" of purchasing from the store, the current Raid being semi-obsolete already with no warning, and so on.

The Transmog just struck a nerve as it's been a highly request feature for going on 7 years now, and they made it as obtuse and limited as possible to drive people to spending real money. It'd be one thing if the game was structured with an actual F2P model, but most regular players are paying for every Season and Expansion.

Halo Infinite needs to go back to it's roots and just be Crazy Taxi in space. You do nothing but drop off grunts at their destinations in the Warthog... and for some reason Master Chief listens to Offspring and Bad Religion the whole time.

I also have a Pixel 4a. It's great for what I use it for but xCloud is not part of that. It was fine early on but every time I've loaded the GamePass app the past few months it usually freezes soon after loading the menu. Seems to be a common problem judging from my troubleshooting searches.

I don't really game on it much. Fortnite runs but at the lowest visual settings at 30 FPS, most other stuff is fine. Pre-registered for Nier Re: incarnation so I might put some time in there.

Achievements earned in Xbox 360 games will count toward the May Gamerscore Challenge and the Rewards Weekly Set but not the daily.  That's asinine, but I might actually be able to complete the Gamerscore Challenge now, so it is what it is.

360 achievements do count for the daily's. It's what I've been doing. I just finished up the FH2 Fast and Furious cheevos. I was playing on my 360 if that makes a difference.
