General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

The Evil Within 2 has a really early 5 pointer that you can get if you can skip through some cut scenes. Not quite a press start, but I don't think you do anything "real" before it pops. Might get you into the game, I'm not saying it's Titanfall 2 levels of sneaky good, but if you're only experience is Evil Within 1 it's like a totally different game like Titnafall 1 is to Titanfall 2. I got 100% of the achieves loved the game.

Beat Call of the Sea. Even though it has problems like unnecessarily slow movement and wonky ass quick saving (if you save in the middle of something happening the next time you return the game just leaves you stuck), I still enjoyed it. Great Game Pass game where there isn't much replay, but good short game to play through once and move on.

Have you tried posting about this on any Reddit pages? I believe I've seen some Microsoft representatives respond and help people when their Support Team is useless. I'm not sure which I would try posting it to; Xbox, Windows, Microsoft... I'd recommend the fallout one I just did it

just skip past/accept everything and follow the cardboard cut out dudes pointing until you reach the exit

took me 3 minutes and I didn't research how to do it first

I believe I had a similar problem waaaaaaay back when Fallout 3 Broken Steel came out. I purchased Broken Steel on a 360 console and it took my 800 points but said I didn't own the DLC. I called support for a couple of weeks and was pretty sure every rep thought I was trying to steal from them. Eventually I got a rep who actually went into my account, was able to verifiy on my history that is says I purchased the item from the store but it was still trying to charge me. After a couple of days, it was refunded and I was able to buy it with no problem.

It sucks and it's annoying but you may just have to keep calling until you get the right rep and ask for a supervisor if you can.

 
I got it (with bing rebate money lol) and it shows as owned on the app but the standard edition does not on the EA website. So we'll see. At worst im out pretty much nothing.

I’ve been meaning to play it since it came out. Maybe it’ll be a good change of pace from Control which fun at times but can be infuriating too. I haven’t been so close to throwing my controller during the Anchor boss fight since the NES days.

Nice, I'd like to get to Dragon Quest XI this year. I've never played any of the Dragon Quest games but, oddly enough, Yakuza Like a Dragon's constant fanboy-ing over the series made me more interested.

I'm just about done with Resident Evil 8 but I was completely sidetracked by Cadence of Hyrule being on sale for $20 and didn't expect to like it so much


Oh yeah, I forgot to give you all a health update:

As of now, both me and my 88 year old grandfather appear to be cancer free!

We still have to check again in a few months and it is something to continue monitoring, but still! I'm slowly regaining some optimism. This has been the first week since radiation that I've felt energy and like myself again. Today we celebrated my grandpa's birthday :) His chemo did some damage to his lungs, but he is up and about living life

Anyone having issues getting on a Forza Horizon 4 Life Session? It was intermittent since since 05/15, then seemed to be ok, for a few hours Thursday morning but since noon on Thursday I haven't been able to get on a session. I've already deleted and reinstalled my profile and the game and rebooted my internet and modem but still no joy.

Update - Called support and was informed 2 other people are having the same issue. The rep also stated it will take at least 100 people to report in today before they start looking at the issue on their end so if you are having issues please contact them.

ok, so I'm thinking this is to promote Bethesda being part of GP but two of the games, The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2, are not currently on GP. I was going to play Wolfenstein 2 to get an easy cheevo but that's not possible now.

 
Prey has a really easy achievement you can get in the first two minutes of the game by chopping your character's head off in the helicopter blades. :)
 
So I ordered biomutant from that Newegg link for $50 . Never done a digital pre-order from Newegg before. How does it work? Do they email me the code launch day?
 
I've put two hours into Rage 2 so far and I gotta ask, why do people dislike Rage 2? It's got double jump and any game with double jump abilities is a great game in my book.

or

I completely understood everything that happened in Genesis Noir.

That game is a little bit buggy.

I liked it enough to beat it. The story didn’t do much for me but the the controls were solid and the combat was fun
 
I got every trophy for Fallout 4 (including the DLC) on PS4, and just started it on Xbox for the achievement quest.  I had 100% forgotten the FMV intro video for the game, probably because it's so tonally different from the rest of the game.

I have all the achievements for it but only half the story makes sense. It should have stuck completely with a clear and simple noir investigation of the Big Bang until the universe dies. It tried too hard to be artsy.
 
Finished Resident Evil Village. Loved it and now firmly have it ranked 2nd in my RE rankings. There’s some parts of the game that deserve to be remembered in gaming history. The Beneviento House was unbelievably well done.

I think Village might be my favorite in the series, I won't know for sure until I do multiple playthroughs. Resident Evil 1 is an amazing game but I honestly felt all the sequels were just.....not very good. I never played 7 though, I gotta get around to it eventually.

Well, in all honesty I haven’t finished 7 yet. I know it’s a good game and some people adored it but I guess it still feels like an offshoot of RE to me (even though there are direct ties to Village in it). I need to get back to finishing it.

Just finished Genesis Noir. That's another 1000G in the pocket. The story actually made sense... until it didn't lol.

Also really enjoying The Gardens Between as I work through games with quick achievements. Hopefully the ending to this one makes a little bit more sense.

at one point I thought it was going to go on some gender social message thing but the random flashes to the jessica rabbit character with a kardashian ass ruled that one out eventually

especially after I chose to go with her even though I never figured out who framed roger rabbit

RE7 definitely feels like an off-shoot until the last 90 minutes of the game, then it all kind of comes together. I really appreciate the game as a reboot for the series where you can enjoy it with zero knowledge of previous games (new characters, locations, and seemingly zero connection to the other games at first).

I was initially concerned about RE8 being more combat-heavy since I really disliked the emphasis on over-the-top action which started in RE5, but RE8 manages to keep the tone and sense of dread / survivability pretty consistent. I'll probably finish the story today or tomorrow.

More than anything, I'm surprised Capcom was able to make first-person RE games that still maintain what makes the series great, Metroid Prime is the only other series which has managed to do that without it feeling like a mistake. I do hope we get another entry which is more traditional ala RE2/3 remakes though.

 
There are now rumor swirling from a couple sources that there is a Final Fantasy spin-off being made by Team Ninja, whose closest relevant games would be Ninja Gaiden and Ni-oh. Souls inspired, and believed to be the revealed next month, which probably would mean it is the exclusive we were talking about.
