General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

But Xbox does have single player experiences such as Tomb Raider like you mentioned, Jedi Fallen Order, A Plague's Tale, Senua's Sacrifice, just to name a few I thought were all fantastic single player experiences. Who cares if they're not all exclusives? Xbox has been focused more on multiplayer games for a long time. Sony Playstation doesn't have a Halo, Gears of War or Sea of Thieves type multiplayer experience. Do you want to immerse yourself in a single player experience or hop online and play with your friends. Both consoles target different demographics and both consoles complement each other in that regard. That's why as a true gamer, it isn't xbox vs playstation. A true gamer will own both.

With Eneba, yes. Reseller gonna mess up eventually on volume alone if not shadiness.

The opposite sides are the more games for everyone vs more games for Whichever Company, right? It would be nice if all games were on all platforms but sometimes it doesn't happen that way. Fighting games are done with Xbox.

 
Most of the studios MS bought in the last year are generally single-player focused with some dabbling into multiplayer. Bethesda as a whole made a bad shift toward MP (76, Youngblood) but overall make solo games. It presumably will mean we'll see way more variety.

Though a lot of Sony's biggest games are all kind of the same third-person action adventure genre now, and I wouldn't say any of the MS studios are know for this aside from Ninja Theory to a lesser degree.

I've had GP since it launched a few years ago and i've paid 3 times for a $1 sub and have been redeeming 3 months GP codes with MS points.

Not free but it almost feels like it.

 
Thinking about the Microsoft showing yesterday I am reminded that I much prefer this over a packed auditorium with people yelling and applause breaks.

 
I was looking to pick up some game pass ultimate cards as a graduation gift today and was surprised to find out they do not have 6 month cards available. I can only find one month and three month cards online at Best Buy, Amazon, Target etc.

I was planning on getting two 6 month cards.

Amazon seems to have the best deal at $39.99 for 3 months so they win.
Xbox should have 6 months cards available.

Depending on the price, I'd love to have one of those to store my water bottles and veggie snacks.

Sorta odd request but does anyone here use a portable Air Conditioner? My room is pretty small and it is at that point of the season will it soon get unbearably hot. I have AC in my apartment but it doesn't reach my gameroom like the others and I cannot put an AC in the window.

Agreed, I always hated when you’re trying to watch the trailer and the camera pans out to show the audience watching the trailer. It’s also nice that now the companies just give us all the info so I don’t have to worry about going to IGN or Gamespot to see the news from any press only events.

I'm here for the games not a live reaction video. I Just think of things like those Bethesda presentations where people are kissing Todd Howard's ass and I'm very much glad they're gone. That or I don't need a reveal of a real life car on a stage and I don't need celebrities acting like they're normal people like us who play video games. I Like you Keanu Reeves, but you ain't ever know the struggle of carrying a Gamecube with a GBA player and a small TV to a friend's house because you ain't got a GBA, but want to play Crystal Chronicles.

I don't know a lot about them (so I can't recommend a brand/model), but I do know that a big thing you need to think about it where it's going to vent to. You need a place for the hot air to go, so if you're saying you can't put an AC in the window because of space reasons or safety or whatever (but you HAVE a window that you can open and put the exhaust hose in) then that'll work. If you're saying you can't put an AC in because there's no window you can open... then that's tough.

I haven't had one personally, but back when I worked at a store that sold them, the review from people that had them was "they're not as good as a window unit, but they're a hell of a lot better than sweating"

The one downside is the major cut to the meme factor. The only funny thing sticking out so far is CHAOS from the Square Enix show.

We used one in an old apartment that had outswing windows that wouldn't allow for a standard air conditioner the one we bought had a piece of hose that attached to it then the hose attached to a plastic piece that expanded to fit into most any window, we even got it to work in the outswing windows after a little jerry rigging. As far as performance it didn't cool nearly as well as a regular window air conditioner but it worked well enough, it took the humidity out of the air and it was noticeably cooler, cool enough that it was comfortable to sleep.

Edit: This isn't the exact one we had but this is very similar Rosewill Portable Air Conditioner Fan & Dehumidifier, 3-in-1 Cool / Fan / Dehumidify, 7000 BTU Quiet Energy Saving AC Unit - RHPA-18001 - Newegg.com

Just thought of something. Nintendo’s press conference is tomorrow. Maybe the GamePass news isn’t additional games but that it’s coming to Switch? Long shot but it’s been rumored for a while, especially with one sitting on Phil’s shelf.

Or it could just be that iOS streaming will be live for everyone.

Thanks for that link. I'll look into it. My room gets stupidly hot in the summer and it's something that becomes an issue as I get older and dehydrated more easily.

 
What's the contradiction here? I was pointing out in the first instance that a 'true' gamer is literally a logical fallacy, a no true scotsman to be precise.

The second part was me getting frustrated for being called out on how a sequel to a game made in the 80's can certainly take inspiration from a more modern game when it so obviously was.

I noticed my order history missing recent items I purchased as well. I am sure it is another glitch in the MS store. I am surpised how many issues MS has of late. Not the best quality control going on with their software.

LRG has started doing Xbox stuff, but they also said a lot of what they'll be doing at first is printing older games they missed the first time around. Still surprising to see no Xbox titles included in their announcements.

I just received this on Saturday and installed/used it last night since my room is the last in a hallway and only one A/C installed in the living room, have a side sliding window so a standard window A/C was not an option. I have a regular sized room and in about 3 hrs running it got pretty cold, installation is very easy and it runs pretty quiet, comparable to the noise of a regular window A/C. it just has to be installed close to a window to install the exhaust.

Man, I think this might be the worst E3 since they become accessible live.

This Capcom conference was worthless. A text announcement of RE8 DLC, a one month roadmap for Monster Hunter, and footage for games that are out within weeks. Then a second half dedicated to esports of SFV, not even the next DLC character or anything.

I didn't realize I was watching LRG stream when I posted that, I'm back in the office starting today so was audio only.

Seconded. The Capcom panel was the biggest disappointment yet. Hopefully Nintendo pulls a rabbit out of the hat but I’m thinking the pandemic woes have killed this E3 and maybe next year’s as well.
