  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I'm not in the market for a handheld PC but Steam Deck does make the new Switch model look even worse IMO.  The cost of the ancient Switch tech should be going down, not up.

I have never understood Valve's business model when it comes to releasing its own consumer products. I own an Alienware Alpha i3 which was one of the Steam machines that are no longer being manufactured. I also own a Steam controller, and those are no longer being manufactured either. But I don't regret owning either of those devices because I have gotten hundreds of hours of fun from using both.

I think Valve is counting on the fact that it has a near strangle-hold on the PC gaming market and will possibly get people who have traditionally been console gamers to migrate to PC gaming with this new handheld device. And the games will certainly be cheaper on PC.

But the reality is that you can get multiple Steam keys in bundles for pennies on the dollar as long as you buy them anywhere other than on the Steam store (i.e. Fanatical, Humble Store, etc.). And this thing will probably play Game Pass games if you can side-load Windows 10 onto it.

So, it's a game changer.

I have that Alienware Alpha i3 too. If you upgrade the HDD to SSD and put more RAM in there, it's a pretty decent machine considering it's a decade old. I wouldn't try running newer games, though. I'm still considering upgrading the network card so it can utilize 5ghz wifi. Did you do any upgrades?

The cheap ass in me just looks at the PSN sales and feel constantly disappointed and their unnecessary censorship and so I'm kinda ready to use this as a weeb, trashy and "cultured" video game console. I'll still get a PS5 waaaaay down the line, but this kinda scratches a bunch of itches I have. For me it's a good way to dip my toes into PC gaming without having to figure a million things out or have a gigantic tower taking up valuable space.

Sonic is a plus, but I'll end up getting both lol. For $9 I get so much more, even if I don't touch the Sonic emulations (I will because of debug mode lol)

 
When I use my Xbox controller on PC, any time rumble kicks in it rumbles at maximum velocity. It rumbles so hard it disconnects and I have to open the options menu via keyboard to stop my character from just running straight ahead and dying.

Therefore, I've gotten used to going into game options to disable rumble immediately on opening any new game. Now I'm used to my controller staying still and I like it.

Legit don't even remember what Riders Republic is. I Think the problem with Ubisoft (besides being ran by awful people) is unless it's a major near annual franchise I don't remember any of their releases.

Nope. It won't start up anymore. Unfortunately, I got the yellow light of death a few months back which would suggest that it either needs a new CMOS battery or it's dead, but I've owned it for at least 8 years.

Over the past few months, I received a few Lenovo desktop PCs from my employer for free because he was going to upgrade the PCs where I work, so I've just been using one of those to play my Steam library.

They were all i5s running at least 6 GB of RAM which is enough to run most low-end games. Some mid-tier games work on it. I just wiped all the work clutter that was on it, upgraded it from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and it works pretty well for games with no upgrades thus far. I tried to use Linux on another one that he gave me, but it was too complicated, so I gave up.

A free desktop PC is cheaper than an $8 CMOS battery any day of the week. But I might still upgrade the Alpha at some point.

Lots of good memories playing Altered Beast from the Sega Classics pack that is on sale right now. Back to my grounded adventures, its so hard to find feathers. Today is day 2 of looking for a feather. Let me know if you found one and where haha. I believe they had a delay turning on Midway Arcade classics (games for gold title for today) I think they turned it on maybe an hour or 2. I can’t wait to try out Joust again.

But the desktops you got from your employer don't have graphics cards, right? The Alienware Alpha does. After upgrading the RAM and hard drive, it runs Street Fighter V better than on PS4. It boots up in 2 seconds. My upgraded Alpha is roughly on par with PS4/Xbox One in terms of performance except load times, which are much faster on the Alpha.

I'm broke as a joke right now. But I can play Spelunky on the job desktop at the moment, so that's enough. But I might be able to repair and upgrade the Alpha sooner or later. Plus, there's that darn Xbox that I can't seem to get rid of.

But I'm glad to hear that yours is still surviving and thriving.

They fall from the crow. They pretty much fall randomly anywhere it flies. Look at the sky when you hear it land or takeoff, you might see them fall.

It's kind of cliche to call something ah Metroid/Vania 2D Dark Souls at this point since there have been a few efforts, but I was roll dodging for awhile and now just got an upgrade to "parry" also it's very hard so far. Like the difficulty doesn't match up with the art style if that makes any sense at all. 

 
I've been playing The Survivalists as a part of the Free Play Days weekend, and it's a very fun game that's a lot like Don't Starve without all of the creepy imagery.  I also popped two achievements in less than 10 minutes.

Hadn't heard of this game, very much reminds me of salt and sanctuary which I enjoyed, picking this up for sure. Thanks for mentioning it
 
I’m trying to free up some space on my HD. First I cleared out all the game pass games I could find that were expired. Man, I really wish they would do something to indicate that the game is expired other than me just having to figure out what I own vs what has left the service.

I also decided to play Battlefield 1 since it was a huge game sitting on my drive. The campaign has been surprisingly really fun so far. I’ve done the first 2 of 5 stories and it’s obviously pretty short.
 
Ugh I’ve wanted to play the touryst and undermine. Not sure I have the time to power through them. But I did recently finish Unto the end. It’s about a 4-5hr completion and an easy 1000gs with a guide.

Like others have said, The Touryst is a quick and easy 1000gs. Definitely worth a play through.

Undermine is a cool rogue lite game but seems like there are better roguelite games out there especially on game pass so I'd check those out first if you haven't already.

 
I'm with team Touryst. Fun, light-hearted puzzle game which makes its 5 or so hours just fly.

If you use groups at all, the best thing I have found for GP games is to simply make a group for GP and add any games you download to that group. If the game is still on GP the icon will be on the game. Once the game leaves GP the icon will disappear and you’ll know you can delete it. Not sure why the icons can’t just show up under the all games downloaded screen but they don’t. Either way use a group.

I also use Groups for things like this. I have Groups like Unfinished Game Pass Games (for the ones I've started but not finished or removed for space), another for Unfinished Gold Games, things like System Link, even Xbox Classic and Xbox 360 Games (that are downloads to not worry about duplicating on my 360 E). It helps if I have people over and they want to know what games are multiplayer and I can show them in a catalog, especially if they're small downloads that I can have ready in a few minutes.

Since I still use an original Xbox One with a 500 GB hard drive, I have to remove a lot of things to download big games like Gears of War and Halo, so keeping a record of what I'd like to start or finish is great since I can add or delete things from a Group as I need.

Do you guys think RE Village will go on sale in the next couple months on XBL? I've got some credit laying around there and I've got an XSS so disc isn't an option.

Is there a reason you don't have an external drive to complement the internal drive? I'd hate managing that small of space. I have a 1tb SSD plugged into my Series X for extra space for games I might play, and two 8 TB drives that I turn on when I need to transfer to/from them. One has almost every game I own or have access to via Game Pass, the other for every game I no longer can play, mostly games that left GP, as well as any game I downloaded during a free play weekend. Limited bandwidth means I don't delete anything unless I absolutely have to.
