• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Those prices are at that level because those M.2 SSD are at a much higher read and write speed than the M.2 SSD that are available.

The prices for the drives are absurd but in line with what they cost.

I just don't understand Sonys train of thought getting a faster ssd when most games have been only a few seconds faster on PS5. Raw power is still important to me till we get next gen where DLSS becomes standard.

Sony has always been early adopters of new tech and pushed it through consoles. The PS2's DVD player was a huge deal in ~2002 when DVD players alone were $300. Same thing with blu-ray disc drives in the PS3, and HDMI as standard in 2006 when a lot of people still had analog televisions. I wouldn't put these ultra-fast SSDs in quite the same category, but it's consistent with their history, they help create consumer demand for for high end technology and in 5 years costs will come down.

I assume a game like Ratchet could be optimized for a slightly slower SSD. As more games that rely on the SSD go multi-platform (The Medium is coming to PS5 soon) we may start to see if there are significant differences, but the way PC development scales for the literal infinite number of hardware configurations, the Series X and PS5 have too much in common for games to be only possible on one or the other.

I got through the first two worlds of Omno and it’s charming, in the same way Journey was. The one negative I’d give it is that the camera movement or frame rate is not smooth, which is just enough to put a little bit of a damper on the experience. I’d say it’s still worth a look for sure though!

Looking forward to this one. Journey-like sounds interesting, so I’m excited to check out something on the more chill end of the spectrum.

Side note, since people here tend to be more informed than most everywhere else on the web: Might need a Windows PC soon (not sure yet), currently have an iPad and a 2012 MacBook Pro that I use sporadically so I’m kinda out of the game as far as brands and specs. Anything major to avoid? Not looking for anything killer, probably sub-$500 if I can manage, but I know I want ~8GB RAM so I can play Destiny on it if I feel so inclined. Otherwise it’d just be for work and low-key gaming. Thanks in advance, peeps!

SSD on PS5 will indeed need a heatsink for the higher end high end models. Does Xbox actually have a plan for SSD other than the card? I know we all theorized, but I don't recall there actually being a statement in any interviews.

You can always use the xbox app on your phone to stream your actual xbox to your phone, and then do it that way with a controller. I've done that on occasion, and it works great.

I played about 45 minutes of The Ascent so far, and I’m absolutely loving it so far. Maybe things change further into it, but if you like exploration and the cyberpunk setting, there’s no reason you won’t like it. Again, ignore review scores and just try it out yourself…

That flight Simulator tutorial video truly helped so thank you for whoever posted that. Was able to see Christ the Redeemer and fly my plane back to the airport and land it successfully.

I’ve downloaded all of the world packs and the premium content and I’m still seeing major highways and interstates look like dirt roads.

Either way still a breathtaking and amazing game, no regrets on this one.

The worst thing so far has been trying to figure out how to invert y axis. Got it sorted via multiple Bing searches but basically have to remap the buttons yourself (for each view) in order to do so. A simple check box would have been preferred.

I got super frustrated and immediatly deleted the game. that noise. Of all of the stupid games to forget invert Y... a FLIGHT SIM?!?!!?

The codes are goodwill for those that have been playing it on Gamepass and bought DLC and will lose access once it delists from Gamepass.

I have successfully used the xbox app on my phone to remote into my console and access the app while away. I think you would need a controller with you though.

If they were going to do that it would have been this month. The previous Forza games that went to GWG did it the month before they were delisted.

Been doing it all summer, use the MS Rewards app on your phone. Then open xbox gamepass app to login daily, then just play any touchscreen games works great. There are even a few that are really easy achievements just for opening the game or playing for a few minutes, save me on the achievement streak.

In regards to the Forza 7 delisting: I bought the Hoonigan DLC that added the cars to both Forza Horizon 3 and FM7. I wonder if that will count for the free token to outright own FM7? If not, I'm sure some bing points will convert into the Ultimate edition easy enough.

Side note, since people here tend to be more informed than most everywhere else on the web: Might need a Windows PC soon (not sure yet), currently have an iPad and a 2012 MacBook Pro that I use sporadically so I’m kinda out of the game as far as brands and specs. Anything major to avoid? Not looking for anything killer, probably sub-$500 if I can manage, but I know I want ~8GB RAM so I can play Destiny on it if I feel so inclined. Otherwise it’d just be for work and low-key gaming. Thanks in advance, peeps!

I have been using a Dell XPS13 for about 6 months now and it is by far one of the nicest laptops I have ever had. It's about double your price range but coming from a Mac it might be worth a look. I was looking for a Windows laptop comparable to my spouse's MacAir and the Dell delivered for me. I was going between the Dell XPS and Microsoft Surface, decided on the Dell since they had an option to build a non-touch screen version. It is not going to be your best "bang for buck" on the performance side but the premium build quality is probably going to feel a lot more like that Mac if you care.

I'm not seeing it. Only game that might not have been able to run on Xbox is maybe Ratchet? Hell flight simulator runs on series s. I'm just arm chair analyst here but I think Sony made the wrong move. Luckily we have 7 years to find out if I'm wrong. Both consoles are close either way. I stayed Xbox this generation because of gamepass and their backwards compatibility program.

Probably won't notice or see the difference until later on. Most games are still design to run on the old hardwares too. The developer actually have to design their game to utilize it. A simple port is not going to unlock the benefit unless they went back and redesign their game.
