• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Because GamePass hasn’t already had enough games added this week, Phoenix Point (from XCom creators) is up.

Superliminal is a puzzle game that plays similar to Portal but with different mechanics and a different story.

The artful escape is I guess classifiable as a 2.5d narrative driven platformer with some basic Simon says style rhythm mini games scattered throughout? It's weird kind of genrefying this one cus even though I think that's probably the best way to classify it, it doesn't really fit it well. It's a really psychedelic and kinda trippy game. It's very narrative heavy but I enjoyed it a ton. If you're a fan of classic rock music it'll be right up your alley it's clearly very inspired by David Bowie, Bob Dylan and other massive artists from the time

I downloaded both. Will try to get to them soon. I take it they aren't too long.

Almost, It's 125gb according to my download queue on my Series X.

When I click on the game card, it shows up to 164GB for a split second and then shows 125GB. That will be the biggest game I've ever downloaded I believe. I will wait for the inevitable punch card before downloading it. That studio really needs to study compression.

Does anyone still play on Games For Windows Live? I've been trying to re-download my marketplace purchases and it refuses to connect. I've read this has been reported numerous times over the years, but is everyone dropped from it? Can you eventually connect back to recover your purchases or downloadable content?

Got my Forza level up to 8 for the extra credits while they last.  I spent half an hour looking for the last road I was missing in Horizon 3 that wound up being the end of a dirt road that was missing less than half of a dash mark.  I’m still missing one road in Horizon 2.

Made it to act 3 of Dragon Quest 11.  I’ll probably just put it on hold and buy it cheap some day so I can spend time on the metric butt ton of other games that got dropped on GP.

Played about an hour of Avengers tonight.  The game is actually better than I expected, though Hulk and Iron Man seemed kind of weak compared to Thor and Captain America.  Definitely going to play all the single player content.  Also want to note that the game looks real good on the Series X.

Before the first revealed at E3, the rumor was the game will be exclusive, but during Square Enix E3 showcase it was found out that the demo was exclusive. The leaker got the demo and game exclusive mixed up. It was revealed at the end of the trailer that it was a multiplatform game during E3.

I returned one twice before getting a refund on the third because of the A button not working. It was tough to be sneaky in Hitman 3 when he wouldn't go sneaky and just stand in the grass. I've got the Halo one ordered though. I hope they worked out some issues by now.

I did the same. The game played was, but was definitely impressed with how it looked. I would actually buy it when they have the ultimate edition on digital for $15.

I recently got an Elite 2, upgraded from an Elite one which I've had since it came out. I like it a lot. The first one didn't wear out fast, but can't comment on 2 since I've only had it a month and mostly played Hades on it (which is great since that requires quick reflexes). The metal thumbstick on the 2 seems like it would be more durable though.

I guess it depends on how hard you are on your controllers. How fast have you worn out a regular controller, like for example how long before it drifts on you? That will give you an idea of whether it is worth it to invest in a premium controller. If you are hard on a controller, you might be better off with regular ones and just replace them as needed. But if you aren't (like me), it's great and you can really feel the upgraded quality in both Elites. The paddles are also cool, but I haven't really used them but can see how they would become indispensable to some.

Edit: the built in battery and magnetic charging base (which can be used in the case) is a fantastic upgrade from the first. The first one requires an additional battery purchase.

I didn't think about this before, but I had to confirm that it has a USB port to be charged using a cable, and it does (maybe it's a requirement for syncing and such). I charge most of my electronics with a USB cable that has interchangeable magnetic tips so a new controller that couldn't do that would be a deal cracker.

Re: XBL, the product page says it supports up to 3 player co-op. Could be pretty cool.

Exclusive marketing is pretty common these days, especially between Sony and Square-Enix's Japanese developed games, so I think they definitely downplayed / avoided acknowledging it wasn't a PS5 exclusive. People thought Star Wars Battlefront was exclusive because Sony had 100% of the marketing, for example. I'm honestly surprised it's also coming to PS4 / XBO but the trailer doesn't show anything we didn't see in FFXV, it's just more colorful.

It looks and plays fine, has some great moments, but after playing Spider-Man on PS4, I think my standards are a lot higher in the "feel like you're the hero" department. I still think Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is one of the best comic book games ever made, and if I can't bound up buildings and leap off them, or make metal boxing gloves out of smashed cars, I'm a little disappointed.

I agree with another post that Iron Man / Hulk feel a little weak compared to other characters. Also, "Avenger's Day" is silly and stealth missions in the sewers is not how I imagined the first hour of the game going. I'll probably stick with it though.

Digital Foundry has a new video from the last Halo flight and it's one of the few games I've seen that runs 120hz and does not run like at 108 the whole time. It says 120hz and goes from 1080-1440p.

The charging case is pretty useless to me because it still needs to be connected I always thought it was wireless like a power bank…but you still have to put ur controller inside the case then connect the case to the cable…same as just connecting ur controller to cable to me

Got my elite 2 from Taco Bell so I think it’s going on 2 years now. It has some issues like a squeaky right trigger. And lately when I was playing 2k when I press rb im thinking it’s getting stuck as well but I’m not 100% positive it’s not just me or the game. But for sure my trigger squeaks.

For me now I would the best thing about is the battery life and weight but is that worth $150+ idk.

I have had 3 Elite ones. All had different issues. Had 1 Elite 2 and immediatly went back to an Elite one. Built in batteries are the worst thing ever. Nothing like throwing a prefectly good controller away because i't wont keep a charge more than 5 minutes. I looking directly at you PS4 and my 3 useless controllers.

Weird, I took the charging block out of the case and put it on the shelf next to my PS5 charge base. The case is put away, I don't use it - the charge block pulls right out (I don't even think it is connected to the case). It's small and takes up little space, and the magnetic way the controller clicks in is nice. Might be a change with newer versions of it to make it removable, but I dunno.

The battery life is at least as good as the official Play and Charge battery I put in my Elite 1. But, it is only a month old so beyond that I cannot comment. Of course I also have PS4 and PS5 controllers, so it seems pretty great compared to the dismal battery life in those things. Neither compares to the amazing battery life of Nintendo's Pro controller. I'd say I get 20-25 hours out of XBox Elite 2, similar for a XB1 Play and charge in my Elite 1, 10 for PS4, maybe 12 for PS5 and well over 30 for Nintendo. Very rough estimate, as I have never timed it. But I know after a couple nights of playing Playstation, the controller is going to run out if I try a third without charging. XBox goes maybe a week of evening play.

Ive been playing more of the shorter games the last couple of months. I now look up how long they are to beat before starting a game. Even if the game wasn’t that great, I enjoy the shorter experiences more than a 40 or more hour game. Maybe it’s because they don’t feel so bloated but they feel more satisfying. I finally got around to Battletoads and loved the whole game and want a sequel badly. Just started the Medium and it’s okay so far.

Okay, I've had some time to test out Dolby Vision with a few more games and it seems to be extremely helpful for old 6-Series TCL TVs. Mine is a 2018 model and with the old HDR 10 output of Xbox, setting the TV to Dark HDR is somewhat washed out looking and the peak brightness of the HDR is too low. Switching to the Normal HDR setting brings the peak brightness up to an impactful level, but it blows out some of the whites and has too much contrast. The Normal HDR setting also has colors that are way off, with purple-ish tones in light blue skys, and bright pink in the clouds of dust behind the car in Forza Horizon 3 (yes, even with calibration).

Right now, it seems like the Dark Dolby Vision setting has a much brighter HDR peak brightness on the TCL 6-Series without losing image quality or blowing out the whites. Sunsets and lights look beautiful and very bright, all while retaining proper color tones and darkness. I kind of feel like I'm seeing actual HDR for the first time on my TV. The old HDR settings on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X were tone mapping with a much lower peak brightness. Now I want a Dolby Vision Blu-ray app so my movies look this good.

Those of you that have better TVs probably won't see such a big difference because the HDR was already displaying quite well on your models.

I have seen that Dolby Vision may have some slight issues when running in 120fps mode on LG OLED TVs, something that will probably be fixed with a patch.

Okay, I've had some time to test out Dolby Vision with a few more games and it seems to be extremely helpful for old 6-Series TCL TVs. Mine is a 2018 model and with the old HDR 10 output of Xbox, setting the TV to Dark HDR is somewhat washed out looking and the peak brightness of the HDR is too low. Switching to the Normal HDR setting brings the peak brightness up to an impactful level, but it blows out some of the whites and has too much contrast. The Normal HDR setting also has colors that are way off, with purple-ish tones in light blue skys, and bright pink in the clouds of dust behind the car in Forza Horizon 3 (yes, even with calibration).

Right now, it seems like the Dark Dolby Vision setting has a much brighter HDR peak brightness on the TCL 6-Series without losing image quality or blowing out the whites. Sunsets and lights look beautiful and very bright, all while retaining proper color tones and darkness. I kind of feel like I'm seeing actual HDR for the first time on my TV. The old HDR settings on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X were tone mapping with a much lower peak brightness. Now I want a Dolby Vision Blu-ray app so my movies look this good.

Those of you that have better TVs probably won't see such a big difference because the HDR was already displaying quite well on your models.

I have an LG CX OLED. I haven't messed with any DV stuff. Just got done playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Will research it.
