General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Info update from a previous post, and a new question:

First off, the Xbox Wireless Headset will work with Discord on a cell phone and a game on the system simultaneously. I know this was assumed, but all I ever read was music, so just letting people know that chatting and gaming works seamlessly (at least according to my partner, who absolutely loves it so far).

Second, anyone know if you can have an Xbox One console and an Xbox Series console both set as home systems? Or is it just one for the entire Xbox ecosystem? Might be in a house with more than my usual 2 soon and would love to game share all around if possible.

Thanks as always. Also, glad to hear people are loving Forza. I’m not die hard enough to get the extras yet but I’ll be playing it this week at some point.

I have the same local ad, but when I went in today for more they rang up without the discount. I checked the tag on the rack and it said one day only. I didn't want to make a stink with people waiting in line. Hopefully they'll have more for BF or Xmas, or I can make do with 15% off which pops up more frequently.

Second, anyone know if you can have an Xbox One console and an Xbox Series console both set as home systems? Or is it just one for the entire Xbox ecosystem? Might be in a house with more than my usual 2 soon and would love to game share all around if possible.

You might be able to use the Network Transfer option for this. If you go to Games & Apps it's in the Manage tab. From the wording it makes it seem like consoles plural on your Network can copy games and apps from your system if it is designated as the default console.

I feel like people have mentioned that unlike the Xbox 360 to One, the One to Series are not treated as two different consoles, so only one can be the Home console. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)
 
Horizon 5 is doing some weird things with rewards quests.

I’ve unlocked 13 achievements so far, and here’s what’s happened:

In the Rewards app, I’ve gotten credit for the daily 50 points for unlocking an achievement, and got credit for the 3 achievements in the monthly 2000 pointer.

Rewards quests have not given me credit for playing a game pass game (daily quest), unlocking an achievement in a game pass game (weekly) or for unlocking 3 achievements in Horizon 5 (monthly).

I’m wondering if the quests are tied to official launch day and not premium day yesterday.
 
I'm not sure about the Eliminatior in FH5. Just had someone in the same lvl 1 VW Bug challenge me and then beat me before I could blink. I thought he was racing a lvl 5 car

Just noticed this also, I contacted CS see what they say, but amazing how the forza games seems so bad at working with achievements. Loving the game though, amazing how you can spend so much mind numbing time just driving around looking at everything to just get all the roads.

Yes, a lot of us are thinking the same that it hasn't officially launched. Hopefully, the GP Quests will count all the cheevos I got and not require 3 more. I've already got over 20 cheevos.

 
It feels a little strange that the Elite v2 it's on a deeper sale down to $140. I haven't heard anything about v3 and the Halo version is coming soon. No sales now $60 off. I'd rather have non-rechargable so I can use my rechargeables, but I seem to recall everyone loving it minus things falling apart.

Tldr worth buying at this price? I wanted the Chief one but $60 for the paint job is a bit much. I'm interested in a status check for the things that do need repairs.

I was playing FH4 and went to the home menu and the screen went black. Console and controller still on. I have tried just turning it off. Holding down the power for 10 seconds. Holding the power and eject like this page suggests https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/display-sound/tv-or-monitor-screen-is-blank-while-connected

Unplugged it for 1 min, Tried different TV inputs, tried different HDMI cords but nothing is working. Console powers on and TV recognizes it but I have no picture or sound. Controller still vibrates when I hold the Xbox button down and I can still turn it off memory(all you do is hold the XBOX button down and push up and then A and it turns off). HELP!! I have googled this but nothing is working. Did my Series X just die?

**EDIT** It was my TV! Troubleshooting more, I tried other inputs and nothing was working. Unplugged the TV and sure enough, the Series X came on and was in 640x480 mode so I just put it back to 4k and now it's fine. That's a relief. No idea what happened with my TV but false alarm. I'll leave this post in case this might happen to you. Crisis averted :D

I had an issue after resume where it kept saying I was disconnected with an annoying popup at the top.  I had to exit and relaunch the game to get it to go away.

It's all jacked up. I've had no cars show on the map and challenge me and Times I was visibly in first and won and was still eliminated. I took a break from it yesterday and finished FC6. Not a bad game at all, but didn't blow me away either. It was just fine as more Far Cry. Instead of going all in on Forza while it's still kind of odd and pre-launch, I think I'll start Guardian of the Galaxy. Also it has 3 days left on the punch card for 250 points.

I used my points to work down the Forza premium dlc and the monthly punch card gave me enough points for the treasure map.

 
Deleted previous because I'm going to buy the Elite v2. Can I buy the extended warranty from MS if I buy the controller elsewhere?

Bummed to lose a 33-week streak, if so.

You have til end of day Monday, new rewards always show up on Tuesday. So today and tomorrow should count unless today was the day you got the first of three.

You can also try launching after midnight, possibly wait until 1AM due to the time change, and then launch again after noon the same day. Sometimes it'll count as two different launches for the same day.

Also, don't launch on the same device. Launch after midnight on your mobile and then launch on your console at noon.

How can you launch the Rewards on Xbox app on a mobile device?
 
I wouldn’t mind getting that GPU from Amazon at that price but I can’t add another 3 months until December. I’ll wait until Black Friday and hope it’s the same or cheaper.

$38? I feel like somewhere will do a BOGO on the 3 months cards as usual, redeem one in Dec and hold onto the other until March.
 
Eliminator in FH5 seems to run smoother tonight.  I just got to a level 10 hooni and even after hitting a couple of trees mid jump, I got my achievement.  No more of that mess!

I got all the festival things checked off for the week.  Some were pretty buggy and had to buy/upgrade several cars because some would not count for some reason.

Found all the boards, barn finds (missing one that's locked), and roads.  Currently saving up for the 5million house.

That’s a good idea but I know I’d forget about the other code. That’s why I’ll wait until closer to the end of November because id probably forget about the one from Amazon.

I have had 20 achievements in 3 days and not one unlocked on game pass app yet.

 
I never would have thought that Intergalactic (by the Beastie Boys) would have to be so heavily edited.  Guess you can’t say Uranus.

lol. I just noticed this too.

They censored the word "crop" in Intergalactic, even though, there is no reference to which type of crop it is, no reference to drug use. But I guess since it's the Beastie Boys it's safe to just assume.

It drove me crazy when they over-censored all of those songs in FH4 because I was already used to them uncensored after playing so many hours.

 
I posted this over on the PS thread…I’ve never had an issue like this with my Xbox. Lost everything on the internal storage…

Has anyone experienced the blue lights of death on PS5? The power to my house flickered for a brief second yesterday, and this morning my PS5 showed the PS logo but then went to a black screen. The lights on the console were also flashing blue.

I ended up having to boot into Safe Mode and tried restarting, changed output, cleared cache, rebuilt database…nothing worked except resetting the system, which wiped all local data including games. What a mess.
 
Boy did Microsoft miss an opportunity with the release of Forza Horizon 5 (Mexico) with the F1 series in Mexico this weekend, could hve been EPIC....

Bring Me The Horizon's "Teardrops" has some obvious words to censor, but one line is really weird. "Let it hurt till it stops," the second line of the chorus, is just fully muted. I guess you could REALLY stretch it and say it's promoting self harm?

To defend myself even knowing this song at all, the EP they put out last year was partially produced by Mick Gordon.

The song Deathwish has the line "even the devil can find love" and they censored devil. That's the only one I really noticed. I had 4 on classical music most of the time. The classical channel is kinda poop in 5. 3 had my one drive connected to it. That's when I was using Windows Phone. The best phone!

On another note: I keep getting hold charges form the MS store for the Halo elite controller and Forza controller but nothing has shipped yet. Nothing from Walmart about the Halo console, amazon for another Forza controller, or Gamestop for the 20th anniversary controller. That's a lot of controllers :(
