General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

The achievement grinds in the Horizon games have been getting steadily easier since FH2. Or maybe FH2 was the real outlier since it feels like such a slog (168 championships, always having to go back to the festival, 1 million credits from rivals). A lot fewer championships required in FH3. No requirement to win at all the routes in FH4. Been pacing myself in FH5 to help keep my daily achievement streak going. But aside from the Eliminator and Arcade ones, it doesn't seem like too difficult a list.

Checking my time played, FH2 is a bit over 93 hours. FH3 is 100% at 338 hours. FH4, with just Eliminator achievements left, is at 1,042. Probably will need to quadruple the FH2 time to finish it, maybe quintuple. If the servers come back.

They appear to have nerfed the Mosler from being the all around PR stunt beast it was in FH4. Speed is down with an AWD tune and loses handling with RWD. (Maybe it's just me, but I always fishtail like crazy with a RWD drive car. First thing I always do when tuning is go AWD.) Hoonigan RS200 still appears to be a solid car for speed and drift zones.

Mosler is apparently still a very fast car. Of course cars with RWD fishtale like crazy. That's why one of the key components to making a drift car is RWD. :cool:

Apparently the online servers for FH2 on X360 are still up. It's possible they moved the XONE servers for FH2 over to FH5 temporarily to help to help with the server load. Hopefully they do bring the FH2 servers back at some point.

On a personal note, kind of bummed to see that FH 1 has been delisted. Really wanted to add it to my collection and am shocked that I somehow never picked it up. Never platinumed FH2-FH5 so plenty to do there but still.

With the exception of a few bands/songs, I've never liked any of the soundtracks and find FH5's to be quite underwhelming. Generic pop and and trance just doesn't do it for me, I need at least one metal station.

Also, most of the music feels like it was designed to be background music and not to really enhance the experience. Compared to the Burnout games where the soundtracks really contributed to the sense of speed/adrenaline.

This is why I stick with the classical station in FH5, and in 4 as well. At least I can feel a sense of relaxation while avoiding traffic at 178 mph

EDIT: That being said, I preferred the classical music from 4 over 5. These ones just aren't the same.

Awhile back some digital codes for FH1 were listed on Eneba, which is how I got it. You may be able to find it on there periodically if more get posted.

My One X has been acting weird with my controllers for about 3 days now. I’ve been playing FH5 (solo) and River City Girls (co-op). Sometimes in RCG my (player 1) controller won’t respond to certain actions, like confining a menu choice, but the other (player 2) controller will. Sometimes in FH5 I cannot do anything at all. In RCG I’ve just been dealing with it. In FH5, like others have said, I’ve turned the controller off and back on again and it fixed the issue. Still can’t change the damn radio station though

Just had this happen to me again. Can confirm that turning the controller off and on works. Kind of annoying. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I get what you’re saying about background music, but there’s always been some good stuff to discover in the older Horizons. I discovered The Naked And The Famous from the first game, and loved the Epitaph station in 3. But nothing in 5 is attention grabbing, even on the classical station, which is surprising.

I ended up muting the music in-game and having the Spotify app in the background. It's not ideal since it doesn't function like a radio station, but it's all coming out of the soundbar. The Xbox OS also has a way to adjust volume (app vs game) so it's still pretty customizable.

Another vote for the FH5 soundtrack being the worst of the series.

I got the rest of my loyalty cars last night, except for the bugged McLaren that they're sending later.

I went ahead and bought Steam keys for the originals after seeing the new versions. Cost me $25.

Mods like this (https://www.definitive-edition-project.com/files) make them the real definitive versions.

I also have my original PS2 discs for the true OG experience.

I started listening to the Naked and the Famous because of FH. I’ve liked hearing old rap like Young MC and Slick Rick but I’ve hated they’ve never had a metal station. Several of the channels are way too similar. Ive tended stick to the classical channel for all the Horizon games both because I love classical music and the others just are overall underwhelming.

I have never been able to play FH4 as long as I have my usb dongle for my cheap tiny wireless keyboard/mouse combo plugged in, it overrides the controller even though the keyboard is powered off. I have to unplug it, close the game and open it again. So fucking annoying. FH5 hasn't done it yet, nor has 2 or 3, just 4.

 
FH5 Forzathon Daily Challenge - Crowd-Pleaser

Has anyone been able to complete this? I beat "On A Wing and a Prayer" on Highly Skilled but it hasn't completed.

Horizon Open - Gotta Go Fast - Reach 140 mph

Can be completed without racing. On the screen where the game was awarding the prizes, I was waiting for the first race to start and was driving around and reached 140 mph. The game seemed to be stuck on the "awarding the prize" screen" so I exited to solo player to start again. As soon as I was on solo player the message "Completed  Gotta Go Fast" message came up. 

 
Played the FanFest Trivia, got $35. Not bad. Some of the questions were really tough.

Yes, my Wife and I were having that problem with the $99 wireless headsets. We had to turn the mic sensitivity ALL THE WAY down.

Watched Shang-Chi tonight and I really liked it. Yeah it devolved into a CGI-fest like all Marvel movies but it was the most I have enjoyed a MCU movie in awhile. Was not a big fan of  Awkwafina but she does a good job in it. Makes the Black Widow movie look like poo.

Been mostly FH5, with some Gears 5 and Tetris Effect Connected thrown in. Hopefully I can hold out for the whole thing. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a FH5 arcade event that can be finished. Actually got halfway through the requirements for the 3rd task in a wreckage event earlier. They really need to rebalance that thing, or not have the tasks spread so far apart from each other. More participants would also be nice, but not sure if that's the players' fault or the servers.

Yeah, a RWD Mosler is still fast, but with AWD the speed rating is only in the mid 5s. I haven't actually tried it with that, though, to see if it's a display bug. I never tinkered with tuning, but based on maxing out with race upgrades, it seems like a RWD Mosler tops out around 270 mph. I hit 270.6 on the western speed trap on the freeway and 270.1 on the eastern one. Numerous Koenigsegg Jesko runs sit at the top of both traps above 300. Between the CAG group and my friends, the Jesko is the only car above my Mosler on the danger sign near the east freeway trap, and 6 Jeskos and somehow an S1 892 Supra are the only things ahead of me on the runway danger sign. Despite being the fastest car in FH4, I don't recall seeing any Ferrari 599XX on any of the FH5 stunt leaderboards.

While I accept the notion that you'll get the best drifting results with a RWD, I got 3 stars on nearly all the drift zones in FH3 and FH4 with an AWD. I just have trouble keeping the cars from going all the way around, so I prefer the better control with an AWD. In FH4, I think I used the Formula Drift Viper for my best score on a lot of the drift zones (particularly the S-Bends one on the hill above Ambleside, that one was the toughest in the game for me), with the Mosler and the Hoonigan RS200 also posting some results.

I saw people on TA thinking that the FH2 server outage was related to allocating resources for FH5. Possible, but I have doubts. It's all in house at Microsoft with Playground Games and Azure, so it's not like they would have had to fork out more money to build out servers for FH5 while keeping FH2 up. Though maybe if MS was prepping for both FH5 and the Halo Infinite MP drop, maybe they'd be shifting resources, but again I doubt it. It looks like FM6 online achievements have been having problems again for the past month, but there doesn't appear to be any problems with MP racing in FM5 (just the regular issues with the paint / tune achievements). The daily login achievement for Forza Street appears to stopped working around the same time FM6 and FH2 started having problems. Any word of other first party franchises having trouble?

 
Good luck. It's been a while since I've stayed up for 24 hours and I said I'd never do it again. 

As far as FH5 Arcade, I think most players have given up on it since it seems unattainable at this point. They're probably seeing how many show up and then not bother if it's 5 or less. I also think they have to rebalance it. At least give us the original 15 mins to start. 

 
I am going to recommend you play The Gardens Between before it leaves Game Pass in I think a couple of days. It's a game where you use time mechanics fast forward and rewind to get a light/lantern to the top. The story is 2 kids and one of them is moving so they are going through their memories. It's way too short and I wanted more. I was never stuck for more than a couple of minutes. You get some achievements by just playing but it looks like I missed a lot so going to go back and find them.

*EDIT* Okay so most of the achievements are at the end of the world in the memory scenes and you need to rewind time until an object starts shaking and then wait for the secret to pop out and you'll get the achievement. You can select the levels but still need to progress again up until the part you missed.

Staying up for 24 hours used to be a regular thing for me for work from Monday into Tuesday. Should be able to do it, though the worry is the follow up impact it will have.

I think there were only 3 of us in that wreckage event I did. If there wasn't 2+ miles traveling between the different tasks (wreckage skills, piñatas, wreckage skills), I think we would've made it. But that was something they never fixed in FH4 Forzathon Live - adjusting the requirments based on the number of participants.

 
In FH5 s there some weird issue with custom tunes for cars?  I want to apply a specific tune but it just doesn't work.  First the car is originally a class A car.  I was able to apply an S1 tune to it.  In the menus it still shows as class A.  but on the map it shows class S1.   That seems confusing ASF.

I was able to buy the S1 tune and paid some credits for it.  But the S2 tune I want supposedly allows me to download it, make it a favorite but it never asks me to pay nor does it put it in the my tunes section.  

Is it no longer for sale or something?   I don't remember having this much confusing trying to download and apply a specific tune.

JFC I wasn't sure if I was having bad luck or what. I can't get the 3 point season activity done because of this. Every single time it pops up it's drift and I'm doing it alone, so I said fuck it. Knocked out the DeLorean but doubt I'll get the last 9 or so points I need for the other car that isn't even legendary. What's annoying is 15 points are locked behind sweaty races that a new player has literally zero chance of winning. I tried a few times and there's always 2-3 people in there level 100+ that just crush any hope you have of winning.

That aside, I ended up getting the Premium package unexpectedly because the game is the closest to a NFS Rivals sequel I'm going to get at this point, sans cops. I've lost the last 1.5 days to the game, unlocking so much stuff it's crazy. Funny how if you just make a game FUN to play and rewarding without a forced grind, people are responsive to it. WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT?

The arcade has two that pop up at the same time drift and regular. Drift will say drift on the map. Avoid that one as it’s impossible right now. Even the standard arcade is near impossible. It was better in early access and even then it took about 10 or more tires to get one fully compete.

I am a big fan of Forza but not a multiplayer person. It’s gotten much better the only multiplayer thing you need to win is the trial. The other team in the trial are driveaters not real people so feel free to crash them out. Monthly rivals you just need a clean lap. That should be easy unless all your friends are posting super fast times. You can lose in the games and horizon tour and it still counts.

The eliminator you only need to place 30th. Just stay near the boarder and when you see a player drive away. As soon as your 30th or under drive out and disqualify yourself. That is if your not into the multiplayer.

Also the weekly of complete a showcase sadly can’t be done unless you haven’t done them yet. Doing it over again is bugged. So mine as well skip it if you have all 4 done already till the patch next week.

Edit: I forgot to add levels don’t really matter in this game. All high levels mean is a person plays a lot or glitches. It doesn’t mean they are good. Lots of people are doing the barrel roll skill point glitch right now or afking races. This levels you up quick.

The problem with the drivatars is they're set to highly skilled and you can't lower it, so for that they tend to just zip away in the opener and I can never catch them because the car I'm forced to use is shit and once I'm in last place it's over immediately; no clue how I'm supposed to win that. And that explains why doing wing and a prayer over didn't work for the showcase, so now I just need to unlock another one to get it done; thanks.

Yeah the non multiplayer seasonal races can be a challenge. If you have the credits it’s best to buy tunes made for it. You just need to stay in the correct class for the race. The Forza Reddit has posts where people recommend the ones to use. It makes it so much easier but I spent 1 mil on cars and parts for this week so it’s a credit sink. I usually just search tunes and pick ones that say seasonal. Also switch from RWD to AWD when you change tunes to make things easier.

Staying right on the line can help as it can block the driveatars path to pass you. If your close enough at the turns you can stay off the break. Crash into the driveatars and then drive off. Picking a tune with high acceleration is good for this. It really does make things a lot easier.

If you unlocked fast travel, have you tried using it in Arcade? I used it a lot in FH4 but haven't unlocked it for FH5.

I'm assuming you're referring to the 3 seasonal championships. Don't worry about the avatars' driver level, it's not an indication of how well they drive but how much they've done in the game. What you need to do is get a tune for your car that gives you a high launch, speed, and acceleration rating, usually 8 or higher but staying within the requirements of the race. This will hopefully move you up 4 spots or more at the start of the race. As for the race itself, you're not racing live against other players, so cut the turns and try to use the avatars as your guardrails to stay on course and block them if they try to pass you. Use rewind if you mess up.

edit - sorry, for the lower class cars you won't be able to get the launch, speed, or acceleration to 8 or higher but get them as high as you can. Check the tunes available and see what set-up looks good.

For yesterday's daily showcase, if you haven't tried it and have an unlock available, under Horizon Adventure, Horizon Wilds, choose Flood, Sweat, and Gears (third choice) this is a showcase.
