Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

They made a mistake - Lego Batman is free on the 360 marketplace LEGO Batman (xbox.com), whereas Lego Batman 2 is free on the new marketplace LEGO® Batman™ 2 | Xbox.

I was going to submit a ticket but "they are experiencing heavy call and chat volumes" and it won't let me go further. The message was there all day yesterday and again today. I think they're having issues with their cs system.

You can claim the Lego Batman 2 on the new marketplace and still download it to your 360. That's what I did yesterday.

Have to say my kid and I are enjoying the GWG Lego Batman 2. Hoping these new BC titles start populating future GWG.

I'm slightly worried that 360 GWG will dry up before too much longer. I think between this final batch of BC and the servers of more games going down is what's doing it. Hopefully not.

At this point I own just about every playable game I would want so I guess I wouldn't be devastated.

I'm seeing some conflicting information. When on the Xbox 360, I don't see that I own LEGO Batman 2 and I am given the option to buy it for $19.99. When in the "My games and apps" app on Xbox One, the game shows up under the "All owned games section" with all the previous GwG games and not the "Games with Gold" section with all the other GwG games. Outpost Kaloki X and Cloning Clyde, both purchased for free from a few days ago, show up in the same spot in "My games and apps" app but also show as owned ("Download Again") on the Xbox 360 console.

EDIT - Weird, it now shows "Download Again" for LEGO Batman 2 in the store on the Xbox 360.

Thanks, didn't know FP was available through the perks. I haven't used it much yet. I did finish all the weekly and daily quests but they don't give you enough to get the cars let alone all the items in the shop. It was much easier earning FP from FH4 Forzathon Live.

Lol. I was 2 days into 2042 and Halo dropped. Had to play that. I started Guardians of the Galaxy for a reward quest. Outriders, Valhalla, and Far Cry 6 all got DLC achievements. I hope Flight Sim fixes some achievements in tomorrows update. I'm busy!

If the code is newer it can probably only be redeemed at the Movies Anywhere site (assuming it's MA), but if it's an older code for an MA movie, the best place to redeem it is on iTunes where it would get an automatic 4K upgrade and then filter back to MA and any other connected streaming sites.

But when in doubt, try to redeem the code at MA's website while not signed in.

The whole point of a beta is to work out issues with the game, and get feedback from the participants so the game can be made better. Progression has been a big part of Halo since 3 whether some people care about it or not. If you don’t care, then enjoy your game and don’t worry about other’s opinions. Go to Reddit and tell 343 you think the game is great as is.

If the code is newer it can probably only be redeemed at the Movies Anywhere site (assuming it's MA), but if it's an older code for an MA movie, the best place to redeem it is on iTunes where it would get an automatic 4K upgrade and then filter back to MA and any other connected streaming sites.

But when in doubt, try to redeem the code at MA's website while not signed in.

I have an itunes account with my music. That will work for movies too? What do you mean by older movie? What does not signing in with your MA account do? Does the code not count unless it gets redeemed on an account? So I put the code when NOT logged into my MA and it will tell me if it's 4K or not? If it says no, like I think Mission Impossible: Fallout is not on MA, I put that code on itunes and EVERY code will then be 4K and I can connect that to my MA account? I am kind of new to all this. I only have Vudu and MA accounts for movies.

  Yes, the iTunes account you use for music can also be used for movies. You can connect your iTunes account and your MA account by following these steps here. Make sure to do this on a computer that has iTunes installed because the process will try to open a link in iTunes.

• Codes for older movies (that are MA compatible) used to be redeemable directly into the various retailers, like Vudu or iTunes. The advantage to redeeming such codes into iTunes directly is that iTunes will automatically upgrade the movie to 4K (if the 4K quality is available on iTunes), and if the movie is MA then it will flow to your MA collection in 4K and then onto your other connected services in 4K (if they have that quality available). This also works with codes for movies that are not MA compatible, but then the movie would just be stuck in iTunes. You can tell if a movie's code is "older" or not by whether the code slip has the MA logo on it or not. If yes - newer, if no - older.

• Mission Impossible (any of those movies) are not MA compatible because they are distributed by Paramount and Paramount is not a member of MA, and as such if you try to redeem a code for this movie or any other Parramount movie (or MGM, or Lionsgate, or one of any of the smaller studios) the webpage would give an error. If you redeem the code directly into iTunes, it would indeed give you the 4K quality in iTunes but since the movie isn't MA compatible the movie would be stuck in iTunes.

This movie is not on MA, but you can watch all iTunes movies on the apple tv app.

I just picked up "A Short Hike" - it's a pretty fun, relaxing cheap ($7.99) game. Just came to Xbox yesterday, but I guess it's been on Switch for a year or so. It reviewed well too.

I finally played some Halo Infinite. I really like it. I didn't think I was going to play multiplayer, but they have player vs bot matches which are great for getting into the swing of things.  Once I got comfortable kicking ass against bots, I eased right into PvP.

Don't worry Branni, the Black Friday deals will kick in this afternoon and we'll all go back to complaining about how it's the same Ubisoft games at overpriced sale prices ad nauseum. Someone will remind everyone not to buy things immediately because there'll be a punch card that hasn't gone live yet, someone else will say "!" because they already bought a bunch of stuff, and then another person won't have access to the sales because it's locked behind Gold and/or Ultimate and the sale will be public on Monday.

The forced bundle includes 1 choice of MSRP games, some of which are pretty old, and 1 choice of a second controller at MSRP.
Disappointed that even MS is participating in this shit. When I was selected for the PS5 last year, it was just the console.
