General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Has the goddamn Ghost Recon Wildlands server worked at all since going on Game Pass? Every time me and my friend's try and get a game going the server's are ALWAYS down and it's been that way for over a month now.

Just start your game and then invite your friend, it should end up working. I finished the whole game with a friend and we had that msg everytime we'd boot it.

Currently you can only set a default location for everything. The upcoming changes allow you to set a default location for XB1/BC games (I use a USB SSD to save internal/expansion space), Series games, apps, and captures. This is similar to what you can do on PS5 right now.

Yeah, i just have everything go to my standalone attached HD and the X only games on internal. Seemed to make way more sense since there's less than a dozen games i actually play with X upgrades.

 
If you log into Avengers this month (until 10/1 from what I read) you get 3 free MCU outfits (Captain America Avengers, Iron Man 2, and Thor).  You can use the cloud version.

I just recently hooked up my old black Sega Sports Dreamcast to test it out and played some Crazy Taxi 2 on it.

Lucky I had my old AV cables because my S-Video cables don't work anymore. I may get one of those Hyperlink HDMI cables for it soon.

I've been hooking up and testing out my old consoles recently.
I had to buy a Hyperlink HDMI cables for my old OG Xbox because my old component cables didn't work anymore and the picture has horrible using AV cables for the OG Xbox.

I still have a bunch of VMUs. I tested one that had a battery and it worked fine. I'm sure my others ones need new batteries. I have a blue, green, red and grey one. I also have this one with no screen but has a button for four slots of memory.

That new one looks great but cost is way too much.
I have been considering picking up some of the new dreamcast releases from VGNYsoft since my console is working.

 
Just out of curiousity, does anyone know if there is a way to find the purchase history on a Xbox 360?  I have an old one I bought locally a while ago, and am curious to find if there is any previously purchased content on there I could gain access to

Downloading Dreamlight Valley on the switch for this weekend.  Since the $30 version is free on GP, I figured I'd use some amazon balance to get the Ultimate edition there.  Everything should carry over with cross-saves.

Mini-HDMI port for the DCDigital board.  Replaceable clock battery, self resetting controller port fuse, and Noctua fan upgrades.  1 TB SSD and SD card for optical drive emulator (ODE).

I don't think so for the scenario you are describing. Unless the old games that the console has licenses for are still installed you would need an account logged in that owns them to re-download them anyways. Actual purchase history also needs a logged in account.

As far as literally checking the licenses associated with a console, nothing is Gerard shit. Maybe some third-party or hacked solution.

Had the Black Sports Dreamcast too! Sold it to a collector for a $500 about 10 years back. No dealing with cables vmus etc anymore,, I got Retroarch on my series S. So nice having all my games on one console now! Enjoying reliving the Dreamcast memories.

I am currently in the process of setting up a retro game room in my basement.

So far I have hooked up my OG PS3 with BC, Gamecube with Gameboy player, Dreamcast, OG Xbox, Xbox 360 and a Wii U. I also have a SNES and N64 I need to hook up and test out. It's been a fun project and I'm glad my 12 year old LCD 1080P TV still works because it has so many inputs and they don't make them like that anymore.

I still have mine along with the broken kiosk Dreamcast that they gave me when I stopped working at Kay-Bee Toys.

Those were the days. :oldman:

 
I don't even remember which Dreamcast systems I have. I remember I bought a few for $50/each from TRU during Black Friday one year. Made a bee-line to the video game area when they opened and was the first in line. They were ready and had the DCs stacked behind the counter to sell.

It's the best FF out there so I agree.

On another note olaying through "The Artful Escape" now since it's also leaving Game Pass. It's a colourful game about finding oneself. Liking the visuals. And while the music isn't bad it get's a bit repetetive after some time. The world you wander through whilst playing it is making up for it though.

Also how many drugs were taken before making this?

Really enjoyed Artful Escape, but it benefited from being played an hour at a time off and on over a couple of weeks. If I'd tried to rush through it, I don't think I'd have liked it as much due to relative absence of mechanics.

Visuals are top tier, though, and I really liked the ending.

Didn’t pick Street fighter, but I was watching Creepshow for the first time on AMCPlus and it vanished from the service when I was halfway through it. So now I get to watch it without pirating it. Thanks!
 
I just went through a few steelbooks I've not opened.  I have 25 digital codes that are not movies anywhere and 40 that are. still got a few to open.

 
New tiles for almost all of the Assassin’s Creed games.  Would be nice if they had patched Black Flag and Syndicate.

Used the first one for JoJo Rabbit. It wouldn't let me redeem it at first. Told me I had to add a movie code or buy one before I could watch it. Made me get off my butt and finally open Gattaca and added the code. I have movies still sitting there unopened just waiting for me to redeem and watch them. I think the best thing to do is add one every month to ensure I can SP and redeem SP from others here. I will have to google the most efficient way to do it.

Been playing the Disney game. It’s super grindy and needs some QoL/control updates. Not sure if I’ll stick with it long enough to 100% the achievements. I used the free currency to buy the premium pass. The rewards seem a bit underwhelming. I unlocked the best reward - the Mrs. Incredible outfit that shows off my dump truck badonkadonk.

Yeah I’m probably going to wait on the Disney game until some QoL stuff comes out. The achievements seem like a long-term grind as well (catch 1800 fish?).

I was excited yet a bit cautious in my expectations for it. It looked like a Disney replacement for Animal Crossing but has much more of a grind than AC, especially after you’ve gotten a bit further in the game. The only game i know this developer has done was an extremely micro transaction based mobile game called Disney Magic Kingdoms. The micro transactions don’t seem as heavy so far but it the grind and repetitiveness is as prevalent. I agree the premium pass doesn’t have good enough rewards. There’s only maybe 3 items I’d like but it’s not worth unlocking the pass. It’s probably great if you don’t have a huge backlog, have Gamepass or like to or want to play other games. Dreamlight Valley is a huge time sink and since it’s release I felt like I’ve fallen behind on things I’ve wanted to be playing.
