• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

The hell? What a weird thing to say. Hogwarts Legacy is gonna be huge. It’s already setting sales records, but okay, the almighty Gamepass won’t carry it so it’ll fail.

Yup. It’s been the number one in sales on Steam and PlayStation for about a month now and Xbox in the past week. It could still fail to live up to the hype. WB has been much more transparent with game and technical details probably because of what happened with Gotham Knights. My biggest worry is any kind of Cyberpunk launch problem. I’ve been very skeptical and tried to keep a level head in my expectations but damn it looks good. I can’t wait for Tuesday.

Its been a hot minute since I played L4D2, but I did play a ton of it back when.

If you are really planning on playing a lot of it, then basically you would want all the DLC. Its tells a story over the various DLC and the maps add a lot of variety.

But I would really consider just getting it on PC at this point. I'm sure its way cheaper. Or play Back 4 Blood on game pass. Its like the same idea, but maybe lacking the charm of L4D.

Personally I think the Passing DLC as worth puchasing since it added a couple more things..as for the Sacrifice...it was a bit dumb that both Games essentially got the same DLC however it didn't jinder me to get and play both...

And for the Orange Box, it might be hard t find any matchs in TF2 these days at least on Xbox. So since you already have Portal it comes down to how interested are you in the Half Life Games? Many people might slaughter me for this but personally I only though of them as "okay" since I had way more fun with TF2 and Portal anyway...

Have you already played Half-Life 2? If you have, then probably not. If you have not, the full game and the 2 additional episodes are a good length and have great gameplay. Episode 2 has an exciting ending battle.

As for Team Fortress, you likely will not find games, or they will be hacked lobbies that may or may not be fun. There is an issue with Team Fortress where if you enter a hacked lobby it saves the mods to your hard drive until you shut down the game, so if you host a match you will carry forward those mods from a prior match.

They're fun games if you have not played them, and are great value. But if you have already played them, you likely will not go back to them.

I Liked AI waaaaaaaay more than Danganronpa. There's no gift giving and hanging out so much as there's a linear story with multiple path's and ending's that you have to go through all of to get the true ending. Gameplay wise it isn't too different as there's still allot of point and click and talk to people and find evidence to find a murderer (with some QTE's and some free movement mystery solving), but the overall presentation in AI is much better and I way preferred the writing as well over Danganronpa.

Beat Death's Door and got all but one achievement (the beat the game using only the umbrella because that noise). Very satisfying game, bosses were tough, but no where near impossible, especially if you got enough upgrades, but mostly just the simple joys of watch that pattern and exploit that pattern style of gameplay. Very good Game Pass get and glad I got to take my time with it (game is under 20 hours).

I've heard there is still some kind of audience for TEam Fortress 2 on console because it's essentially the pristine launch version, it never had any updates.

For Left 4 Dead 2, the L4D1 campaign is actually split across two separate DLC packs. The Passing includes just the first level from 1, and the rest of 1 is included with Cold Stream. The 360 version is totally fine to play, the only negative is that it never received an FPS boost so it's only at 30.

If you have any toaster PC though, that is the one to get. The game gets as low as $1-2 on sale, includes all the DLC we had for free, one more major community made update we never got, and has extensive Steam Workshop support. The easy to install mods can add full new campaigns, and pretty fun total overhauls like a Halo Reach one, or dinosaurs. They also had an official crossover with Resident Evil, adding skins of the humans and Special Infected/BOWs.

Dead Space 1 is still a VERY solid game. I would still recommend you play it in the same way Resident Evil 4 is still a classic all these years.

I hope you managed to claim the Dead Space Upgrade Bundle that was a GPU perk for January. If not, that’s ok but it’ll make the game easier.

I’m expecting Dead Space remake to hit Game Pass in a year or possibly Halloween this year. Depending on how well the game sells and the type of game, some titles can come as early as 6 months after release (Star Wars Squadrons), 8 months (Mass Effect Legendary Edition), or a year (Jedi Fallen Order). For a heavy hitter like Dead Space, I’m expecting a year because I suspect they want to capitalize on holiday sales.

I think Dead Space 1 is a top 5 game of Xbox 360, but I'd almost say not to play it if you're just going to play the new version at some point. It's close enough to the original that I would just enjoy the new quality of life it offers. It's interesting that Resident Evil 4 remake looks the same way to me. The RE 2 and 3 remake projects were so different from their originals, that I'd say yeah play the old games. Dead Space Remake and RE4make remind me of the first time they did RE1 on Gamecube.

I just finished the Operation Catalyst campaign for CrossfireX in about 2 hours and 48 minutes (based on Xbox gaming tracking)
 
Like I said before, it's very mediocre. I was curious how much the game changes after the first hour and it doesn't change at all. Storytelling is wack and actually reminiscent of Remedy's past titles (of course) with lots of strange visions/flashbacks. Gunplay is a mixed bag; gun handling and shooting feels nice and 'juicy' with the 'Combat Breaker' (bullet time) ability but shooting at enemies does not feel good at all (actually reminds me of the Uncharted games where the shooting sucks ass).
 
Something I like about the shooting is that the bullet time ability is a bit different than your average slo-mo shootout. It does this thing where the action "speeds up" and "slows down" based on whether or not you are currently shooting; when you aren't shooting, the world moves in slow motion but when you are, it's like the world speeds up to show the immediate effect of your shooting so there's this amplified and exaggerated effect of enemies reacting strongly to your shots. I think there is also a bit of "aim assist" while you're in this mode because I've noticed that my gun snaps directly to the nearest enemy in my view once I kill the enemy I was shooting. So there's this kind of "staccato" rhythm to the kills while in bullet time that feels nice. Maybe a closer analogy is watching a film sequence with every other frame removed so that it feels faster and more frenetic (see the opening of Mad Max Fury Road do this). Thankfully, the bullet time ability recharges fairly quickly so you can try to spend most of your time in this mode. If you do get really hurt though, your health actually regenerates quite fast. I think I've only died like once in this game and that was because I tried to go Rambo into a large group of enemies; it's still very possible to pull off and survive and I think that might be the best way to play it knowing that you can heal fairly quickly and use bullet time frequently.
 
Other than this bullet time ability, the game is just bland. Run of the mill run and gun military shooter with limited weapons and not much varied gameplay (there are sequences where you snipe people from a distance like an escort mission to spice things). If you are curious how Remedy does an FPS with limited resources, then check it out. Just set your expectations very low.

It took Jedi Fallen Order a year to come to EA Play. So I’d expect Dead Space to take at least six months.

For people getting Hogwarts Legacy, you can go to https://www.wizardingworld.com/ and make an account, do some quizzes and it’ll put you in a house and select your wand. Then connect that to your WB account and it can carry over to the game. You don’t have to keep your house or wand(you can do the normal sorting and wand in game) but you do unlock cool looking house robes for each of the houses. You’ll get all four for if or when you do another playthrough in another house.

I finally went through all 46 NA games (47 are listed because I can't tell which Prince of Persia is getting delisted) looking for DLC. Here's what I found. Some are free so you might as well grab those. Don't have that free DLC fully documented. Some have season passes but not enough time to document what those all encompass. One thing I did notice is that the AC3 SP looks useless. You have to activate the actual DLC in game, but Ubisoft disabled the in-game store back in October 2022. That's really nice. Sword and Fairy and Xuan-Yuan Sword are two of the longest-running JRPG series from China. I'm glad more people will get the chance to play them. I'm sure there are many PC games from China that can be ported to console and secured for Game Pass cheaper than Japanese games would cost.

On another note, my Xbox 360 is starting to have 'hiccups.' Last year the WiFi connection quit working (error code 80151901). I deleted my profile, cleared the cache, and re-downloaded my profile yesterday. Now it's showing that there's an issue with my profile (error code 8007065B). I can still connect to XBL via Ethernet. Should I consider getting it repaired or look into buying another? I've had it for several years and it's been running great until recently.

Edit: It's an Xbox 360 S (4GB) w/ official 320GB internal drive installed and 2TB external HDD.
