Xbox Live Compensation - Undertow Was Free 1/23-1/27

Well it's sorta new, so that's good.
I don't have it, that's good.
It's pretty surprising too that it's an 800 point game.

But, we'll see. I have to download it. I don't think I even downloaded the demo.
 
Undertow? Nice.

I actually was on the fence about getting it when it came out, then forgot completely about it.

Well I definitely wouldn't have purchased this for 800 points after playing the demo, but for FREE I'm all in. Get ready to hear why everyone loves/hates the choice. That said, I'm just glad they finally announced the game.
 
Yeah I wanted it and already bought it, fuck. I guess I'll be calling. Hopefully I can just get 800 points for something else.

EDIT: And is it just me or is Live still not working as well as it should? It's definitely improved, but still not 100% when I've used it. And IMO gold member should still get their sub extended by a month plus the free game that everybody gets.

I dl'ed a few rockband songs last night and they took FOREVER. (Like 20 minutes each) I know it's not my connection either. So, yeah.... somethings stil not right.


And I dunno about the game. I haven't tried the demo, but then again, I usually steer clear of XBLA games. I'd much rather have the points.
 
Glad to hear it. I doubt many people have Undertow, so most people will be happy about this.

Not a game I ever would have spent money on, but I'm very happy to get it.

Agreed. Free is free, so I'll be getting this next week.
 
The game is fun if you like a king of the hill type thing. The demo gave the impression that all you're doing is basically defending bases from the enemies and I'm sure the multiplayer with some friends would prove to be quite fun.
 
haha... looks like damn near everyone passed on it after playing the demo. it wasn't bad, but i didnt buy it. nice to hear that its free. i was bummed when carcassonne went free and i already had it.

Yeah, it's still having problems, just not as bad. Dashboards still slow as balls, others have said there are still sometimes having problems getting in CoD4 games, downloads are slow.

MS just isn't giving any more updates on problems with Live etc., due to the lawsuit--per Major Nelson's last podcast.
 
score! I'm just so happy it's not crap. I was barely affected by the XBL thing anyway since I haven't been gaming online much. I think I had a hard time getting into Halo 3 once. I'll take undertow for that ;)

I wonder how it would work with having two paid accounts in the same household? Both of our accounts were affected and it's pointless to download it twice. May have to send out an email.
 
thats good to know. Sucks for the people that wont be able to get on live them days. They should just e-mail everyone with a gold account a code to get it for free that never runs out. That way you have time to get it.

Major said to call customer support during the time it is free and they will take care of you, so I'm going to assume you will be able to get 800 points free or something like that.

Will that work with all games they give free? I have robotron and got a thing for it and joust free. I just have not called to see if I can get 800 points or another game free.

Interesting. Thanks for the tip. I already have Undertow, so getting something else would be sweet. Of course, not sure how motivated I am to call India -- I mean Xbox customer support -- to get it.

C'mon, Carcosonne is good too. Nobody was playing it until they made it free, now it's easy to find a match.

I liked the Undertow demo, and had considered buying it, so I'm thrilled by the announcement. Sucks for "early adopters", though.
 
This is sweet. I almost downloaded it at release but it was a big concern that not too many people will get it and the online would suck. But now everyone wlll have it!

I'll try calling then, Major and gamerscoreblog just said to call, didn't say when. I called today and they said no dice; there was no other option than undertow.

That definitely was the problem. Great multiplayer but very few people on.

I actually liked the demo for this game. I am happy. While I wish I could just get the 800 points, I am happy with a fun game I like.
 
They couldn't have picked a better game, because this is the single biggest game that needs a population boost on XBLA. Can't wait to see some of you cag's on for some matches.
