There's a full list on the FAQ in the welcome message. Not sure if it's OK to post for everyone but if you got in, you can see the detailed list. Quite a bit more than I thought.

Nice I got in. Got my email just a second ago. (It is pretty much the same as you see on the site when you click Xbox LIVE Update Preview). Good times.

Preview Program Emails are being sent out

We’re in the process of sending notification emails out to the first group of people for the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program. Please check your email (and spam folder…just in case) to see if you were selected. If we stay on schedule, those selected should receive a prompt to accept the update later today/tonight.

We’ll be sending another wave of notifications later this week, but we are holding registration open a bit longer to make sure everyone has a chance to participate. If you signed up but did not receive a mail yet, please head over to the connect site and review your information to make sure it is correct. I am being told that there are quite a few people did not properly complete the survey. If this is the first you are reading about the Preview Program, go ahead and sign up and you may be chosen to participate before the update is released on August 11th.

Thats from major nelsons site....however i didnt get an email yet. :(

I got in as well. I'll be writing my general impressions on my site (UltimateRockGods.com) once it gets rolling. And yes, its a music site haha
I got an email, but it just says the same thing that the site shows when it says ive been accepted. Is this the same email you other people got?
Yeah, that is the e-mail that is being sent out to everyone that got in on "Wave 1" of the update.
I'm not seeing the Preview forum. Anyone else find it?
On xbox.com, not here that is.
It's on the Connect.Microsoft site. On the congratulations page, scroll to the bottom there's a link there.

EDIT: NVM.
So now what? How do we get the update?
The beta will be pushed to your xbox sometime tonight according to Major Nelson.

I just turned it on and didn't get a prompt for it.

EDIT: Scratch that I suppose. I tried the Kodu Game Lab trial, and it failed to launch because I had a second controller plugged in (WTH?) and when I got back to the dashboard, it prompted me for an update. :S

Update is done. Xbox Preview slots...with BLUE windows! TAKE THAT Mountain Dew Green! And it tells you what features there are, too.

EDIT:
Ratings - You can rate...almost everything. DLC, games, not trials.
Games of Demand - Nothing but old stuff right now.

For those of you people who are getting the update right now, did you get 2 emails?
One from x-box live Connect first just letting you know you are "in", and then a second one letting you know you are IN on this first wave?

No, I just got one email.

Also, I got the first rating in for Tales of Vesperia, Sonic 2006 and Unleashed :p You can also rate games that aren't already out...that's...not...cool. So...in any case, abusing the system will happen, and has already happened...
by me :D
.

About Dashboard Speediness:
It seems like the dashboard is much faster now, but it is also more sluggish. Instead of holding up for a few seconds in most cases, it'll now bring up the next menu in a stuttering fashion.

I changed my shirt for my avatar to the xbox 360 on light, with white. Yeah that seems to be the only clothing you can change the color of for now. No Gears suits yet on avatar marketplace. :(

Are there any avatar awards that can be won yet?

Does anyone have a Gold Veteran number more than 6? I beta tested Xbox Live and never let my gold membership lapse so I am curious if 6 is the highest you can have.

Mine says 1. In September I will be a Gold Member for 2 years. I read somewhere that a person has been a Gold Member since October 09 so...it's kinda broken.

Let me say this: The dashboard update improves the quickness by about 15-30 seconds depending on what you're looking at. Some stuff still takes a while to load, but the blades are much faster, although I haven't loaded up the blades from in-game yet.

The Achievement tracking thing under My Profile is kind of useless. While it tells you your GS, your achievement total and the number of games you've completed, it gives you up to 12 icons. Here's the problem: You can't expand it.

EDIT: Take one thing back about the snappiness part. When you go from Game to dash, it takes 5-10 seconds now. It used to take 1-3.

STEALTH FEATURE: You can now eject games from the disc tray via the dashboard.

I'm at 6, but I didn't do the beta. I did sign up day one though and have never lapsed as well.

Ejecting games from the dash is definitely a feature that should've been in there for a long time. Now when the disc try malfunctions, your head can be sliced off or you can stand clear of possible injuries.

I just have to wonder why they waited so long to fix this dashboard.

Apparently ratings don't show up until multiple people rate it :\

To those who got the email, but haven't seen an update yet, you have to start try starting one of your games first. Then the screen will pop up asking you to allow the update.

Also, I agree with Kingbroly. The dashboard is faster, but there seems to be a stuttering effect. Not a big deal though. At least it's finally faster.

So far there are no new games in the "games on demand" area.

I think the dashboard may have messed with Tales of Vesperia a bit. I set the controls up so A is normal attack and B is artes, but when I press A it comes out as an Arte. On the menu it says what I just mentioned too, so...that's messed up.

EDIT: Wait...might have figured out why. Apparently my fightpad and 360 pad got switched. I'll check it out when I fight the next boss.

EDIT 2: Everyone go rate 1 star on every piece of DLC from Namco games. Why? Why not!
