Alright you guys. I just finished paying off my xbone today at GameStop. I know, I know. I'm an idiot for not preordering on Amazon. I just love big launches, and I couldn't resist just getting it at retail.

Dead Rising and Forza day one for me. I may wait for Ryse to drop a little. Don't think it'll be long before that happens.
 
Australia and New Zealand confirmed to get Fifa 14 with preorders of the Day One editions while supplies last. My guess every country is getting something.

Yeah... everyone except the good ole USA. Xbox sales have always been stagnant overseas. They need the boost more than the US.

Not true, US customers do get something, they get the cheapest price and in all honesty, I would take that over a bundled game every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

 
Nov 22nd is later then I would of liked but all in all it will be fine, there are plenty of games coming out between now and then to keep me busy. GTAV Alone is going to suck at all my free time, not to mention Pokemon and FF14 A Realm Reborn. At least now I can put in my vacation days ahead of time : D

 
My GameStop apparently started taking some pre-orders on Xbox One today, the Day One version too! I think I was one of the last few, though. The employee that took my pre-order turned to another employee and pointed to the screen (guessing it showed how many more pre-orders they could take) and said "you want one?"

 
Did anyone here pre order the day one edition from Walmart? Is there a card to get or do you just ask someone at the electronics counter? Does it say day one edition on the receipt when you get it? I just want to make sure I pre order the right one and don't get a regular edition

I pre ordered at walmart. the huge cardboard pre-order ad says Day One Edition, but nothing else says it. I just asked the eletronics and they sent me to layaway to pre order. I didnt get a card, however the tall ad promoting the pre orders for x1 or ps4 have little slips, i never did grab the slip i just asked where to pre order. There was no card, just a receipt. They also offered the 3 year warranty for a great $44 but i told um id buy that when i picked it up and they said it would be ok. Im guessing it is the day one version since the preorder ad did say day one edition.

I still have my pre order at toys r us from months ago as well but plan to cancel it, it had no indication of a day one version anywhere on the toys r us ads.

Your not really getting it for free, your getting a semi demo version with only 1 char unlocked. Thats no diffrent then sonys semi demo version of driveclub where alot of the tracks are locked to buy.

So just for giggles, i asked a best buy rep through online chat if I could apply a gc to my existing order after the fact and they mentioned that I could apply the GC at time of pickup. 

Does that make sense?

Well the makers of DriveClub said you will be able to get enough of the game for free to where you can even Platinum trophy it without spending extra. That's a very nice deal. At least KI picked the 1 character right IMO, either Jago or Glacius.

The Microsoft launch and '14 games lineup sold me on the Xbox One. It's a $100 more but we do buy these things at the end of the day to play games on right? Thats what sold me. The sony e3 presser left me cold, Killzone is pretty but the gameplay is meh, and Indy games will not sell me on a new console.

The biggest thing Microsoft has going for them that no one is talking about is Xbox Live. If you are already invested in that ecosystem with online leagues for sports games or a good group of friends to play coop or multiplayer FPS games with, why wouldn't you want to keep that going for the next gen. I have both this generation and the PS3 is used for exclusives and is my bluray machine. All online gaming for me and my son is on xbox live. That and that games lineup sold me.

 
I'm so happy with a late November release and that it's on a Friday.  I can actually enjoy it this way.  I have 12+ hour days Monday through Thursday this semester and it's going to be pretty much zero gaming for me besides GTA V until just before Thanksgiving.

I find it interesting that with preorders being reopened that no game bundle was announced alongside it. To me, it seems like MS is still debating whether they are going to even include a game or not. As others stated, NA is a region that Xbox doesn't need to try as hard to market itself compared to other markets so the incentive isn't going to be as great. I think they are going to see how the early preorder numbers catch up to Sony and if the ratio is still way out of whack, then I imagine they'll strongly consider throwing in a game to sweeten the deal.

Madden 25 doesn't make as much sense to me since that title is already part of the big trade up offer MS is pushing with the big game retailers (GS, Amazon, and Best Buy). Customers just need to pay another $10 to upgrade already so throwing it in as a free game doesn't seem right. The gamers that it's supposed to entice would already have the current gen version for a full 3 months ... eh I dunno. Madden will probably be a bad port anyway. My guess is there won't be a game bundle but something like an XBL incentive if preorders stay far behind. If they did go the free game route, then a game like Ryse would be a more logical choice. A game that would help show off the Kinect ability and make consumers feel better about their gaming investment.

 
Does Best Buy charge any sort of pre-order price if you do it on their website or in-store, or is it like Amazon where you get billed the day it releases?

Billed the day it releases/ships as far as I know.

I've done pre ordering via the website, but for in-store pickup. They didn't charge me until I actually acquired the item, in-person, at the store. I did that for the 3DS XL last year.

I actually had an Amazon pre order (that I still need to cancel), but since Best Buy opened pre orders for the Day One edition, I opted to pre-order (via the website)for in store pickup.

Cool, I was just curious. I don't want to get charged all that right now! Did you have any problems with the BB website? I added the system to my cart (the COD Ghosts bundle) and when I go to checkout it keeps giving me a internal service error and the page keeps refreshing.

If you order through the BB site you won't be "charged" until it releases, however it'll have a hold for the full amount repeatedly and continuously until that point is what has been reported so far.

No issues but I ordered the console and not any bundles. Also, Maskim provided good clarification on the matter of a "hold" appearing on your CC. Not quite a charge, but like a temp authorization.
 
That kinda sucks. I've never dealt with that before. Is it good or bad?

I keep trying to pre order the COD Ghost bundle and it simply won't work. I have no problems going through the screens with the regular Day One version. Anyone else having this problem? Any time I make a change to the order (do in store pick up, change payment card, etc) it refreshes to the default selection so I can't finalize the pre-order.

I don't know about in-store but if you order online they do put hold on the CC every week till the system is shipped.
 
Just go to Gamestop and put some money down. It is much easier than Best Buy and you can continually go in and put more money towards it up until release if you want.

 
I have both consoles pre-ordered and paid off at Gamestop and I'm actually very excited for Killzone.  It looks awesome, and if I'm correct it's the only exclusive FPS with an actual campaign.  I have no interest in Titanfall for that reason.  So there's my FPS.  I have DR3 pre-ordered and paid off for the XBOX 1, so there's my 3rd person sandbox-esque game.  I'm not going to get crazy and buy up everything at once for $60, but I would like to get one of the racing games, but like many others who use wheels, I'm stuck and waiting out an annoucement right now.

If it turns out the PS3 wheels will be compatible with PS4, then I'll probably give Drive Club a go.  If not, I might finally invest in an XBOX wheel (maybe the Mad Catz XBOX 1 wheel that looks like it'll be between $200 - $250) so I can play Forza.  And then in a couple months I'll get NFS Rivals for whichever system I made my primary driving system.

Once I finish Dead Rising 3, I'll pick up Watch Dogs for whatever system I end up feeling the most comfortable on with the controller.  Same for COD Ghosts once that goes on sale for around $40.

In the meantime, I'll definitely be giving Killer Instinct a try even though I'm not a huge fighting game fan, but it does look awesome.

Knack for PS4 is on my radar, as well.

 
anyone notice that xbox one doesnt have a limit of 1 at bb like the pS4? Only reason I noticed is that I want to reorder using some GC credit I had and didnt want to risk it going OOS if i cancel current order.

FYI for anyone in the South Jersey area, i was at a few targets and they all still had plenty of Xbox One Pre-order cards if anyone is looking. 4-5 left per store I went too.

 
some reason bestbuy is not updating release dates for xbox one orders mine is doing hte annoying release date is what ever date is the next day you look.

And if you do want a coop multiplayer TPS, give Warframe a shot on PS4. It is free and available at launch. I'm not sure what the hook is (in terms of microtransactions/DLC) but there's no risk giving it a try. I played the demo at PAX and it was actually pretty fun. Like you I'm not an online shooter player but I did enjoy the Mass Effect 3 MP and this is similar.

All this "free" stuff for both systems is an interesting change from last gen launch. At the very least, it provides you with more content than static demos so maybe you can ride out a price drop on some other games.

 
Man, it just hit me. I really want an xbone, but I am struggling to rationalize the purchase with only two games I'm currently interested in (Killer Instinct and Dead Rising 3) at launch. I'm figuring, any multiplatform game I'm better off getting on the ps4 thanks to vita streaming.

Tough pill to swallow, especially after the whole wii u launch drought (yeah I am a sad day 1 owner). My mind tells me no but my body tells me yes!

 
I'm still waffling between the two, but leaning XB1. It's tough tho, as I have credit to pay off a PS4 bundle and an extra game, or a game an the XB1. Don't have a Day one XB1 though after amazon screwed up my order. Think I would feel easier committing to the XB1 if I got upgraded to Day one. Last gen was so much easier to deal with. 

 
anyone htat has bestbuy pre orders have any of your release dates on order status change to 11/22? mine still does that annoying day by day advancment starting to think i don't have a legit order in place it's a in store pick up.

 
Thanks for posting that today was the last day for GameStop preorders on the XB1.  I stopped by and put some money down on one.  I feel kind of ridiculous because I already have a PS4 preorder at Amazon and I swore I was not going to get both systems at launch.

At least now I have the choice to get one or both (or neither), and two more months to make my interminable mind up.

I will say, though, that there are more launch games on the Xbox platform that interest me.  I'm a huge Forza fan and I like the look of DR3 -- I remember getting the original DR when it came out on my 360 and spending a lot of time with it. The PS4 doesn't yet have any exclusives that grab me.
