mgs 5 was a giant news not sure why no one is talking about it i was shocked when i seen it.

Agreed and its nowhere!

Any other year that would be everywhere. MGS is a huge Sony exclusive. To me that's like Sony taking Gears or Halo...

to be fair 360 did get a mgs game BUT that is not the same i would never think i would see the day snake would be in a game on 360

True but this is MGS V not a spin off like Rising was.

Pretty sure that XBOX Live 12-Months Gold is another package sold separately and NOT included with the XO Day One Console package.

There's a ton of missinformation going on like always...The package does not include DLC For games, but instead, there are Day One Editions of the games that include Day One DLC:

They need to clarify A LOT of things.

Man, some decent looking games (MGS V, Forza, Halo, Titanfall) but I just dont see anything in here thats worth a $500 price point for the system alone, plus Gold membership, plus $60+ pricetags for each game.

If Sony manages to come in with a $399 price point and some PS3 games being available for it as digital downloads, that would probably be enough to get me to switch over.  Going to be an interesting few days.

all i ask from sony tonight is answer some major questions and price and allow us to pre order the thing
Yea I want to know about the Plus membership, and everything you have downloaded from the 3.

If that's the case I can get rid of my 3 to my little brother, and clear up some space since I have to keep my 360 :censored:

I can't believe how many people are biting in that Pre-order thread. Giving a bad name to Cheapassgamer. $500 on top of horrible policies definitely isn't cheap.

I never said anything bad about Xbox 360. That console is great. But the Xbox One definitely is not.

Admittedly I tried watching on my laptop and couldn't get a good feed. It's pretty solid on my 360. That being said, I'm not paying $500 when I have a system that can already do that.

Moneysoft shot themselves in the foot here. If Sony wants to win this round of consoles they can set it at $400, or even if they price it the same at $500 but maintain free online along with any kind of used games system that isn't what Microsoft is trying to pull on people.

Price point wasn't really expected from this guy though. That's awfully high for a console that has a ton of asterisks on it anyway.

if you think about all thats in the system 500 dollers is not bad at all it would cost more to build a gaming pc which these new systems are

I'm happy about the removal of points. Calling them points instead of cash is pretty silly stuff. When does is put into effect, what will happen if you try to put in a code for points? Will it come up as invalid or be convert to cash right away?

I wish they spent more time on Xbox 360. I didn't find out until the EA conference that Plants vs. Zombies 2 will be available for it.

That Pet Rock game was ridiculous. They might as well stick with the mecha.

Microsoft seems to be saying that the used game restrictions are publisher pushed. I think Sony will do the same thing MS is doing other than the 24 hour check thing.

But you have to remember how much this console will cost going into the future. Xbox Live Gold and horrible used game policies. Things are definitely going to be more expensive.

I think adding the barriers to used gaming is an issue, but it's just "another" issue, not particularly the breaking point. When you have spy cameras and that high price point (it does a lot, sure, but $500 is expensive for most stuff, period) COUPLED with the used gaming issues, you get many unsatisfied potential customers.

The way I see it, the ball is in Sony's court.

i have been paying for live since 2002 it's 60 dollers a year most of the time you can get it for like 40 dollers a year and now seems like they are going to start giving you free games which is good. i know alot of people that never sell games once thye buy them and you will still get money for games.

The real barriers for me are that everything is still behind a paywall and the extremely vague and arbitrary 24-hour check in. I could actually suffer through most of the other shit because frankly the games lineup is pretty damn good.

That's fine, but many people depend on the used game market. And we can't forget that this is Cheapassgamer. A lot of the topics here live on used game deals. There's just nothing good about it. No lending or renting either.

just had a friend back home text me saying all 4 game stops in my city are all sold out of the 10 pre orders. thank god i got amazon that i can do while in l.a

most deals i see on this website is deals for cheap new games not used games

Paying full price for a potential rent of a game is not going to fly. You know how many bad games are avoided being purchased thanks to lending/renting? That's gone now, and people will not/are not happy about it. They're basically forcing people to blind buy, which is a line of action that nobody should follow.

P.S. I realize it may be based on how the publishers want to do it, but do you really think Bioware, EA, etc. etc. will take the less greedy path and leave used gaming as it is? Pfft, good luck with those hopes.

Existing Xbox Live Gold members will begin receiving two free games per month until the launch of the Xbox One in November. The first two games will be Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed II. Fable III was already made free to Gold subscribers earlier today.

They are only giving free games until the launch of Xbox One...

I fail to see how $500 is a lot of money for a gaming console. It really blows my mind that people think so..

I agree - it is all the other stuff that will or will not make it expensive. Of course Gold is a big expense that dwarfs the initial console cost over the long term (plus it is something I don't like paying for since I use it so little). But the big key is how much you can get games for via CAG-like deals. Will the inability to sell used games for the One mean new prices will stay higher and we'll see fewer (or smaller) deals? That is a bigger issue to me than the up front price. For the tech inside this system, the $500 is a more than fair price. Gamers were spoiled by MS subsidizing the 360 at launch. I still think the overall value of the system may not be worth it, but the upfront cost is only a small part of that equation.

people forget ps3 was 600 at launch for highest system
I am not really trying to compare other launch prices, but really, to me $500 isn't a lot of money. It's pretty much what I expected it to be. I expect Sony to be similar.

i can't wait till tommow to get my hands on these new systems and games. Thing is i wonder how many of these new system games wlll be playable on the floor so many of them have no gameplay showed today just cgi videos

game trailers has a pretty sweet e3 online coverage to bad it's not on tv like g4 did for so many years but happy they took over thanks to g4 going down the tubes

You know what I'm wondering about? If you get an X1 and you still want to use your 360, will the gold still be available throughout? I remember when the 360 came out, you basically couldn't use the original xbox  for live anymore, right? or am I thinking of something else?
