I think Destiny looks pretty cool. Although this is coming from someone who hasn't played Halo or Borderlands.

Timbo, if you would use any form of punctuation I would be more prone to listen to your opinions.

Still not sold on the X1 but I decided to go ahead and preorder it anyways just incase. I'm hoping that tonight Sony comes out and says not as strict DRM, no trade/borrow restrictions, no internet connection required and 399 or less price point. If thats the case I will be getting a PS4 instead at launch.
Well looks like I'm getting at launch now. Just preordered it on Amazon.

Holy crap - MS will have to do something now...
What can they do though, really?

The price point can't go down because of the Kinect. And will all the money they spent on that used game infrastructure, would they really kill it off?

The only thing I can see them do is change the 24 hour DRM check in requirement.

R.I.P. Microsoft Gaming Division 11/2001 - 11/2013

----

So Sony says... Used Games Allowed

So Sony says... Online not required

So Sony says... $100 less

That Coffin is now shut.

MS backpedaling in 3....2......1......?????
Haha yep.

Still interesting to see if there is any truth to the multiple SKU's rumor for PS4. Either way Sony smacked Microsoft in the face with that right now. Nobody will pay attention to "oh the version I want is a little more" later.

ign just confurmed mp is no longer free on ps4 you need plus to play online

this is just halo in dif skin
Yes but you can access things like Netflix and Hulu+ for free (in fact pretty much any media things) In order to do virtually anything on 360 online you need to pay.

i have been a xbox fan since xbox in 2001 my first next gen system is ps4
What a fickle piece of shit you are.
why im i a piece of shit because i refuse to pay 500 dollers for a system and need to be online every 24 hours? im sorry if i don't want to pay 500 bucks for syste
I like how you skipped over the word you couldn't define. All these weeks you've been suckling at the teat of MS, knowing full well what was coming with the XBox One. Sony has their event, and you immediately jump on the bandwagon. Have some fucking dignity and admit you've been full of shit for the past month.

too bad, I actually preferred MS's exclusives and overall presentation.

but online DRM/ used games is killer.

I'll be sticking to 360 and PC for the foreseeable future

Microsoft repeats the mistake of Sony's pre-PS3 arrogance, and now they will pay for it.

Sad that there is going to be a Halo game I won't buy on day 1 for the first time ever, but I'll live with it.

If nothing else, this will humble Microsoft and make them put a little more thought into their next console. If there is a next console.

I know people are saying "price drop in response" but not seeming likely. That Kinect probably ain't cheap.

all the junk out till this past friday was all rumors i said friday when that stuff came out i was really peeed off that 24 hour thing was true the used game i can deal with but price point i was thinking would be like 400 for xbox one no way is a system with that many istuf that sucks is worth 500 bucks. if xbox one was 400 i think i would get it over ps4.

Yeah, I've been paying for Gold for years like an idiot. I can see getting annoyed with it if you are currently playing online for free on PS3, but from my POV it's not a big deal.

$100 isn't too big of a difference to me, but is a lot to others it seems

to me when you throw in that $100 AND the DRM It's big trouble for MS.

I guess it depends on how much you value instant switching of games without inserting a disk.  the ability to play another game while waiting for match making is impossible without the diskless drm.

do you still want to insert game disc for every game you own forever?

Don't forget that the PS4 is supposedly more technically competent/powerful than the X1 as well.

My guess is that if the multiple PS4 SKUs rumor is correct the only differences will be bundled accessories/games and HDD size (which will be moot if they keep with the PS3 and let you use your own HDD).

Can't believe I;m saying this, but: maybe Microsoft should of featured kinect more in their presentation. $100 difference mainly comes there, and no real attraction to justify it.

Yes, and anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't spend their own money on their gaming habit.

microsoft still won e3 for me. Sony's conference was bad for the most part, and the two main things people liked were the no used games restrictions and price. Obviously the x1 was expected to be priced higher because it comes with kinect. Remember, forced kinect is a GOOD thing, even though we all might be annoyed with it at first.

Not sure what all the hype is with the used game stuff...microsoft wants developers to stay in business and make better games for us, sony doesn't? Thats how it works right...Sony essentially gives you the option to not support developers and thats why people are liking them better.

Well, I never thought they should have gone down the road of DRM like they did so I have no answer for them - they'll have to figure that out on their own. But they need to do something. Does the launch One come with the year of Live? That is at least something that makes the prices a little closer. But the problem is it would have to be the other way around (PS4 $500, Xbox One $400) to make up for the DRM issues...

windows 8 is not bad peple just hate it because thier start button is gone boo hoo
Eh, Windows 8 is OK. First thing I did, though, was put Classic Shell on it so I boot up in the Desktop and have the Start menu ;).

I feel the same way. The price isn't such a big deal to me, but it definitely gets more press/casual reaction than the rest of it does. As a result, I am expecting PS4's to be hard to come by for a while. I preordered at Amazon like 5 minutes after the conference ended and will be heading in to GS tomorrow to try to get one there (where I'd prefer to get it from - Amazon is my backup plan).

Yeah, that's what makes it all worth it...

Oh yes, THE HORRID INCONVENIENCE OF SWITCHING DISKS. And you are right, I can't play another game on that system while waiting for matchmaking. Good thing virtually every gaming household in the US has at least two things you can play games on. I can whip out my laptop, phone, tablet, 3ds, etc. How freaking long is matchmaking supposed to take anyways? You usually get one in under a minute.

Very valid point but I think you have to look at both presentation as a one the May and today's along with Sony's February conference and today's to truly see the full package and value.

I have preordered both and currently own both. I am more intrigued by X1 and will more than likely stay on that path.

The real decision will not come today but in the coming weeks when we learn more.

You can definitely tell that there truly wasn't a need for a new generation of gaming in 2013 when things are so similar between the two.
