Rofl....Why do people even ask these questions. Its up to your 360. I use to travel between my parents houses every weekend. I have flown to vegas about 6 times. I have flown to Iowa and back to Florida and my launch console is fine. My friend has never moved his 360 and he has had to replace it 3 times
Has anybody seen the "official" HDMI cable from Microsoft that includes an audio adapter so you can still use optical out? My question is if there is any other place to get this audio adapter, or if you have to get this specific cable to get it. Here is the link for it:

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=802758
Any HDMI cable will work, the trouble is, if you want audio out other than HDMI, the proprietary adapter that comes with the official cable is pretty much all there is at the moment... I'm sure there'll be some third party ones in the near future... since before this, the Elite was the only HDMI capable machine, and it had the cables with it...

Like VGA adapters and the like, this cable will most likely hit 3rd party prices Real Soon Now. :)

Just a quick question. If my 360 gets a RROD (and it probably will) and I send it back for repairs, can I request a free copy of Kameo or Perfect Dark Zero? Or do they not care anymore because of the sheer volume of failed 360's.

ok everytime i turn on my 360 the screen doesnt show up so i have to adjust the cable or hold it in a certain spot
so im thinking the hdmi cable is faulty though ive tested component and it worked fine yesterday yet today i tested and the screen color is all off but the guide and stuff are working correctly when i move around the blades compared to hdmi where the screen is frozen but the 360 works but the picture on the tv isnt working

Are you sure you've got your component cables plugged in the proper places? If you mix up the RGB cables, you'll get the wrong colors.

I'm going to be getting a 360 this week, either a core one or a premium. What do you look for to get one of the newer, HDMI, extra heatsink systems?

Also do you think it'd be worth it to wait for the 360 arcade pack thats supposed to happen, or just get a premium and sell the hard drive? I already have a hard drive, btw. Core systems almost aren't an option around here.. nobody has them in stock.

they aren't mixed up but the main problem ive been having is getting hdmi to work properly
ive been able to adjust it so i can play w/o it doing anything but now i can even do anything without holding the cable in a certain spot
before it would sometimes work when i turned on my 360 but now its moving the cable after the 360 is on

Hi, I bought my 360 last week and just recently bought the original Xbox 54mbps wireless networking adapter. I hooked it up to my xbox 360 today and popped in the setup disk into my xbox 360, and of course it's not compatible. When I do my wireless connection test it recognises it as a wireless bridge but then on the second step it says it's not connected to the wireless network:bomb: . Is there any way i can get this to work? Please help me out here.

I had the same problem with the pack-in HDMI cable... I used my Monoprice $7 one and have 0 problems.

I think the pack-in's not all that sturdy... because I tried it on my upscaling DVD player (that supplied the monoprice cable) and it went all green or at the worst, had no picture at all.

*shrug* I am not concerned about pack-in quality... since the cables are $5-$7... if they were $30+, I might consider returning it.

It's compatible. I'm using it now. It works like any other bridge. You don't need the disk. Unfortunately I don't know why it's not working for you. I'd check all your setting in the system tab and on your router. Maybe unplug the bridge and plug it back in...

^but which cables should i get?
link perhaps? :)

btw i did order like 6.92 wii component cables from monoprice and the picture was completely wrong checked sd thread where i found the deal and they were having the same probs so im hoping the hdmi cables aren't faulty as well

Anyone know how to set static IP addresses? Sometimes my internet will "hang" and I'll have to reboot the router/modem. Makes it so my 360 NAT settings have to be reset again, which is a bit annoying. I'm not too familiar with router mechanics/software, so I'd appreciate the help. It's a Linksys WRT54G v2.

I was wondering would it be possible to split the points off of a 4000 point card into two different Xbox Live accounts? Also if you have two gold accounts on one xbox is possible to share the DLC from one account to another? I mean if I download a map pack for a game would my little bro be able to use the map pack on his live account playing from the same xbox? Also the same question as before except with arcade games, is it possible to share them?

Thanks ahead of time for answering my probably stupid questions.

1) You cannot split points from one card between account.

2) Purchased content is authorized for both the gamertag and the Xbox purchased from. The gamertag that bought it can always play it no matter where you take the tag, and the box you bought it on can always play it no matter who is signed in to the box.

I'm quite certain there's new firmware out for it, but I remember reading somewhere that the v2 Linksys WRT54G routers had the least problems. The later revisions and firmwares had some problems with something or other. Guess I'll have to research and see what that was all about again.

The past two have made XBL on the 360 and my OG Xbox painless.

What's the best way to get a replacement AC adapter/Power Brick? I bought a Red Ring core system for $80 on ebay. I figure I can wait it out for the repair at that price, but it doesn't come with a power cable..

My dog recently chewed up my 360 power cord that goes from the AC Adapter to the wall. I cannot find a replacement anywhere.

I can find replacement AC adapters, but I only need the cord that goes to the outlet. Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement cord?

Thanks

Well...

I need you to check the powerbrick you have, as there are two slightly different ones out in the wild.

The older 360 powerbrick has three prongs that the wall outlet cord plugs into.

The newer ones just have two prongs.

If it is one of the newer ones, you can simply take a computer powersupply wall outlet cable (VOLEX cable) and plug it in. The ground will not have a prong to plug into, but it will work just fine.

The older powerbrick cables have a kind of... slot on them that a plastic ridge in the powerbrick slips into. You CAN use a standard computer powersupply wall outlet cable on this, but you would have to modify the tip...

Or you could go the Ebay route.

Lastly, if you call Microsoft, I'm sure they can charge you for a new cable.

Hoping you have one of the newer bricks.

Wow thanks alot... I have the newer one. I actually thought hey that looks like a computer power cord, but the one less prong threw me off. Thanks, this just saved me a lot of trouble.

Hi everyone, I just got my X Box live going and I was playing some games online and I noticed that my headset seems to be giving a lot of feedback/echo to other players, are there any ways to remedy this problem, or is my headset broken? Thanks a lot!

I get this every so often. I find a lot of problems can be fixed by unplugging and replugging in your headset. Also make sure your voice isn't heard through the TV, you could get echo that way too.

they do sell these at gamestop (3rd party, tho')... don't know the quality of them, or if it'll work for either type, but they do sell them. it's like, $80, iirc

... That's the price for the brick /and/ the cord.

The topic poster only needs the cord that goes from the wall outlet to the brick.

One to three of the ring lights flash red from time to time. When this happens I just turn it off and then reboot the system and it works alright. I have noticed some slow down when playing Madden 08, NCAA 08, and sometimes BioShock. Am I heading towards the red ring of death?

Thanks to the media, I'm paranoid about my 360 having overheating issues. (I've had it for over a year, but its been neglected due to WoW wich I just quit). I have a intercooler, but just recently read that intercoolers can cause more damage than anything, and will void your warentee. People have mentioned that laptop coolers are a good idea, so could anyone recommend a decent one? thanks!

You have a couple options:

1. Take your 360 out of your oven.
2. Turn off your oven.

If either of these rules are strictly followed, you're doing just fine.

you're right. my mind was elsewhere

Turned on my 360 last night and all I got was a screen w/a bunch of pink and black lines and sound (no red rings). After a couple of times turning it off and on, the regular screen finally came on, but after awhile red lines started to form and BAM! back to the pink and black (I have a HD DLP).
This morning, I moved the 360 to my other TV, a Philips 32" HDTV set. This time there was no picture, but there was sound. Called customer service and they suggested I try to borrow my friends AV cables.
I truly believe it is the AV cables.
Now, my question is, anyone ever have a better picture w/other component cables. Such as Monster or Psyclone. Would appreciate all opinions and help. Thanks.

Just got my 360 refurb from Microcenter the other day. it's a 6/06 model.

Anyways this is my set up and the location of the 360

Noticed that I kept my ps2 slim and cube AWAY from the 360 :)

after a few minutes, the hot air definitely heats up the wood just below the exhaust vents.

I put in a fan yesterday but it seemed too big for me to have it standing up right, so I need to go back and put in a smaller one.

Now is it a good idea to point the fan from the side hitting the heated exhaust air coming out or just blowing air to the 360 it self from the side?

OR blowing air from the back of the 360 from a distance while the 360 shoots out the hot air? would that push the hot air back into the 360 and causing problems or what?
What is shown in those pictures looks like an electrical fire just waiting to happen.
you know your probably right.

Considering it is wood, and the stuff above and to the right of it (off frame) is my computer equipment, I am just asking for a big fire... I know the 360 is going to cause it lol :)

I picked one of these up and didn't read the instructions before throwing out the box... what do I need to do to synch it with the controllers?... I'm holding down a button near four lights and they just blink in order and then nothing happens... I'm wondering if it's broken or I'm just not doing it right... thanks in advance.

1. turn on ur 360 boot to dash. (make sure your controller is on)
2. Hold down the sync button on the console(green rol spins)
3. turn on your 360 wireless headset
4. hold the sync button on your wireless headset(it should now sync to channel 1)

And lastly are you using the "L" large earpiece attachement, I only have the medium but have large ears..
