XNA Community Games Thread--Check out OP for January's Games, Top 10, & Master List
There are some good community games, but they are swimming in a sea of shit.

I really think the answer to all this is for Microsoft to implement a user rating system like Netflix has.
Exactly the problem. Exactly the solution.

Please check out an XNA MVP's own solution to the problem at http://xblcg.info/. It's listings default to a sorting by rating. Anyone with a Windows Live ID account (hotmail, etc.) can log in and rate the games up or down. It's very well done and I hope Microsoft takes the next step and puts this sort of thing in their website and Xbox Dashboard.

I used to download about every community game to at least try out but have become crushed by the amount of mediocre to bad stuff. Yeah the ratings are a great idea.

Have you checked out http://xblcg.info/ yet? It's really the best way to find the great games. The problem now is to get the site out to the gamers, so you don't just have developers voting on it. Plus, for finding great games, I love the http://xnaroundup.com/ podcast (which I advertise my own game on). The full video reviews are better than anything else. They show you beyond what the trial shows in some cases.

I have tried halfbrick echoes. I love that it is back to the basics. Pure arcade action. It's exactly the type of gameplay I have been missing. I want to plug my upcoming game, as we follow that same philosophy. Where the game is just the gameplay, the movement of the character, the quick-reflex skill. Check it out:
anyone try halfbrick echoes?
I really like it too. These Halfbrick games are really fun so far. I'm looking forward to the others they are working on.
is duality still on track for this month? :bouncy:
Duality ZF has had it's fair share of failing to meet release dates, so don't quote us on the May 2009 date, but it will be out really soon. The next time I play this game, I will be far less specific with the release dates to cover the pitfalls (and there's tons of them) with doing a game *right*.

Now Community Games are rebrended as Indie Games. There are many news the most exciting is that prices are lower than before.

I tried and bought Bricks4ever a good little bricks breaker. Now it costs only 80mp. perfect for spear mps. As Arkanoid but it costs 15 times less lol :whistle2:D

Now I'm searcing others good & cheap games
Those prices are alot better. Will take a second look at the indie games tab.
Now I know you are a CAG but I feel bad for the poor developer making 75 cents, at most, off of each game. Hope it didn't take him more than a day to make.

The 80 points price option kind of sucks, as it means that I'd have to buy another four games just to get back to a X00 point total. It's a bit much to be roped into buying five games because of it.

I'm confused. There is no requirement to have your points end with #00. Between XBLA games and Rock Band DLC I don't think my points remaining has been even like that in months.

I do that so I don't have an awkward amount left that leaves me unable to buy anything. I don't have Rock Band on the Xbox 360 nor have I bought anything that's awkwardly-priced, so I try to stick with XBLA games or whatever that doesn't mess with that balance.

hey guys, I saw this video about Bricks4ever and its dual stick game mode Bipolar. I played it and it's really great trying to juggle with two paddles. It's really challenging and funny.

Here the video:

Giving this old boy a bump.Wondering if anyone here at CAG ever messed with XNA themselves? Maybe you can hit me up in PM or send me an email. Have a bunch of questions

Same here. When I have a $10, I never just buy a soft drink, because then I'd have all this change. So I carefully plan my purchases and buy a meal that comes with a drink and costs exactly $10 after tax whenever I'm thirsty. Also, I'm crazy.
Here's some new Duality ZF footage, showcasing 8 fighters at once using G-MODE, where you control two linked fighters that have multidirectional fire:
So when is this supposed to be released? How much?

Matthew Doucette, bring those games to Steam with the proper features (Achievements, Cloud, and controller support) and I'll be all over 'em.

But yeah, very good looking for Indie games.

Expect to see both Duality ZF and Decimation X on Steam. We have met with Valve and they are interested in a shmup compilation from Xona Games. We may put out one more shmup first, to make it a 3-pack. This is not set in stone, of course. If Duality ZF hits XBLA, it'll more than likely hit Steam by itself first. We appreciate your interest! :)

Long-time CAG here, and I've been working on an audio game for the Indie Games service. The key word is "audio"... logos are the only visuals in the game. It's essentially a radio drama about heroes and villains, with rhythm gameplay during the action scenes. It won't be ready for sale til Spring of next year, but I submitted a demo to the Independent Games Festival 2011. Here's a video, and you can read more about it on the YouTube page.

I realize I'm bringing this thread back from the dead, but I figured I'd rather do this than make a brand new topic. :)
looking forward to Crossfire 2 soon as well :)
I peer reviewd Crossfire 2, it's GREAT. Make sure to try out the score attack mode. Awesome stuff.
