Yakuza Dead Souls $35.99 @ Deep Discount

I canceled this order recently and got a confirmation for the cancelation. My order history still shows the order status as "open".

Hey, that sounds familiar! They assured me I was never charged, but Discover showed a 35.99 charge on my card. DD told me it would disappear in a few days, but then I got a shipping notification. Now I have to wait for the damn thing to show up and mail it back so I can actually get a refund.

I've sent a second cancel request and received the same macro e-mail response saying they canceled it. My DD order history's showing order status still open. Probably means shipping by X-mas...
 
Oh just got the email!! It's been shipped!! Yes!! I didn't have to send an email or fake cancel after all! =D

Anyone else still waiting I guess they're slowly shipping out the rest this week.

@oni_saru, LMAO Dafuq?!!??! Mine just shipped too, just checked my email. Even after they said they canceled my order at my 1st request and the 2nd. You have me to thank. What a shady company....

Received an e-mail this morning that it had finally shipped. Not thrilled with the delay but for such a low price on the same day it released, I'm not sad that I pulled the trigger.

Credit card has a pending charge. Anybody get any tracking info? Mine just says:

"Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office."

Same here, I've been checking the tracking status since Friday last week, but no status info available yet on USPS website. I think that DD just sent the email out without actually shipping it. If they did, it should've been updated by Saturday latest.

Well, here is funny thing. I actually made a complaint on their Facebook page regarding their decision to fulfill my order that was told to be confirmed two weeks, then they sent me an email with a return shipping label with RMA info. But, how am I gonna return it when I don't even have the package? It's just unbelievable that they pulling this kind of unethical act... No more order from DD at least from my side... :???:

Btw, I even found the following story, and some people even had to file a complaint to Attorney General's Office in IL to get their money back. I hope that I don't have to go that far...

I did - my copy is in a California mail processing facility right now, so it should probably get here by the end of the week (I'm in DC).
 
I got an e-mail saying it shipped but I had canceled the order a week ago. So far my card has not been charged.

Yeah I dunno what these morons are doing.
 
Now I know they will never process an order cancelation request which I kinda knew from all the horror stories. All these wrongdoings. That's a lot of complaints. What the hell is wrong with this business?!... The email salutation says "Dear Valued Customer," that's cute...

My card is fully charged now and my tracking info updated; it shows it was picked up by the carrier on 3/31 at a California facility even though DD is in IL. I'm in CA so hopefully it won't be too long. I got a good friend in DC too.

I like how FatherChesz puts the RMA label back on it. Do they deduct shipping upon return? I have mixed feelings. Part of me wants to do the same, but I really want the game.
 
This thread is funny to me. I've never had an issue with anything I ordered from DeepDiscount, but I understood from the first time they take forever to process and ship orders, even on stuff they have in stock. Most companies aren't Amazon or Newegg.

I used to buy a lot from DD for their free shipping on everything but since they changed to minimum order I don't so much. Seems like lots of people got impatient, cancelled but their orders were probably already being processed for shipping, and now everyone is crying about it.
 
Gah I just checked & they haven't charged my card. I got the shipping email. Maybe free game? *o* haha jk. but no seriously I better get it in.

@CheapLikeAFox I've ordered from DD twice but the items I ordered were in stock so no problems. This is my first time ordering a pre-order from them and my first time waiting so long.

I don't think 2 weeks is an acceptable turnaround time for a prepackaged item. I cancelled my order, was told it was cancelled and "I was never charged" and four days later it ships. I have better things to do than fuck around with a company that can't communicate a cancellation in four days. I think a nine dollar premium was worth going with a company that actually knows what the hell they're doing, like Amazon or Newegg.

Sure, but most companies also aren't DD. A few days notice to cancel an order is more than reasonable, especially when they confirmed the cancellation. Shipping the item to the customer anyway and charging their card is a violation of the terms and conditions of most credit card company merchant agreements and plain and simple credit card fraud in my opinion. Similarly, it doesn't take more than a few days to process and package an order even if you're guy in a storage shed somewhere. This company is complete garbage in my opinion and deals from them should no longer be posted here.

Amazon knows what they're doing, but Newegg are bumbling amateurs at best, accepting preorders they can't fill (Dark Souls CE) and then canceling on the day of release with no notification to the customer (me) that they were going to do so, followed by not responding to many e-mail inquiries about the cancellation. Amazon is the only place I order retail games on disk when I absolutely have to have the game ASAP, but when the deal is as good as Deep Discount's 40% off on Yakuza DS, a game I'm interested in, but which I don't have to have immediately, I'll go with Deep Discount. I'm just aware that it's going to take weeks to ship and I'm ok with that.

Note: this is not to excuse DD's shipping of orders when they've already sent out cancellations e-mails - that's a shitty way to treat customers, obviously.

My biggest gripe with Newegg is the lack of post-order support. I pre ordered a few games from them last year and my credit card was compromised and cancelled by Discover, so they sent me a new one. Newegg would not allow me to change the payment info without cancelling and re-ordering. They also would not match their pre-order discount on the re-order. (Well, I'm sure if I threatened my way up the chain they would have but it wasn't worth 10 bucks to me.)

Amazon on the other hand is the model citizen for online orders, and more often I'm hard pressed to buy anywhere else, as these ordeals have taught me.

Same here. Game arrived today. Disc was loose in the case. Manufactuer's fault I'm sure. Bless the sturdy BD disc.

I sent two cancellation requests and received two confirmations. TWO! At least I got the game. But I'll do whatever I can to avoid using DeepDiscount in the future. Good riddance. I expect a some of courtesy and customer service from all businesses, not just Amazon or Newegg, Amazonewegg--how's that for revengeance. Unfortunately, I don't remember seeing DD stating satisfaction is guaranteed with them. Whatever.

Installing the game. So excited! The install screen reminds me of MGS4. Come to think of it, it IS like MGS in the sense that you play, get rewarded with cutscene, play, then cutscene reward, so on. Whatever happened to those days when you could just enjoy a cutscene with no interactive QTE cutscene BS. I know I'll be enjoying the fuck outta this game!

So I pre-ordered this, then realized I was going to be low on funds, so I canceled my order. Turns out my funds weren't going to be as low as I thought they were, so I still wanted to get in on this deal, but it was too late, because I had already cancelled it. Reading others stories in here though, and now checking my order status, which now still says, "open"....I might still get the game? I don't see any tracking info though.....
 
Did you get a "order has been shipped" email? I believe it means they're not going to cancel it. I still have the "open" status order even though I received my game already. Send in a cancellation request and see if it helps push their efforts to get you your order out as quickly as possible. Stupid company... I feel they need to be shut down.

I cancelled my order for Mass Effect 3 a few days ago and got confirmation that it was cancelled. The hold on my card was also dropped. Now it says it has shipped and the tracking shows its in California. Does that mean I get ME 3 at no charge...?

nah. they'll charge you eventually. I got the shipped email before they charged me. A day before the game actually came in, they finally charged my card. So no free game for you =P

Btw the manual for Dead Souls is pretty terrible. lol at four pages. They might as well have not included one!
