Yet More Craigslist Stupidity!
But how much tv are you REALLY gonna get for $1k? You're not gonna get a 52" one for that price. If you ask me, for how long the LCD/plasma tv's have been out, they're still overfuckinpriced.

Plus, for my room I don't need a 60" screen, but the ones in the 20-26" range are $900 fuckin' dollars. All I can say to those prices is.....get bent.

I want a tv to WATCH it. I don't give a shit what resolution it is. A tv ain't worth $900 smackers.
What are you talking about, CAGGY? I don't know where you're shopping, but $900 for a 20-26" plasma/lcd? Ninja please! I just bought a 40" Sharp Aquos 1080p from Costco, no tax, fit right in my car, for $700 flat. Out the door, $700 even.

They have them at every Costco right now for $750 with an instant $50 off coupon at the checkout. At least, it was good through May 31st. But Best Buy had the same TV for $700 plus tax a couple of weeks ago. There are plenty of deals to be had on last year's models still. And those models are pretty damn phenomenal. Sure, you're not going to get a Samsung LED or something brand new and super cutting edge for cheap, but I've seen plenty of 32=37", top brand name LCDs for $450-550.

And warehousedeals, amazon's open box/returns clearance site, has insane deals. Simply insane deals. Got an amazing 52 inch W series Sony LCD 1080p on there, it was an open box but perfect condition, for $1213 including shipping, no tax, white glove delivery a couple of months ago, for my mother. I don't know how low and cheap you want these TVs to go, but considering earlier similar models were well over 2 or 3 grand, easy, no more than a year or two ago, I think prices are damn good. The recession has been very, very good for consumer electronics prices and the glut of inventory. That certainly will not last as production levels have already been ramped down and cut, excess inventory has already been worked through, and prices on new models are tight, high, and deals few and far between.

Actually, I have my eye on one someone linked in an 'upgrade to an HDtv' thread here on CAG that's like 20-21" and under $300 and I've seen a 21" widescreen LCD monitor for under $200 that I could use with JUST my PS3 which has HDMI and all the goodies.

So, I do know there are deals out there, but like I said I don't need a HUMUNGOUS screen.

Plus, we don't have any Costco's in Pennsylvania.

Ahhh, I understand. I haven't really looked at any smaller screens, so I don't know the pricing there. And no Costcos in Pennsylvania?!? What a travesty!

I love it when the market collapses and people still attempt to get top dollar for items that will very quickly be worth MUCH less. One example would be the Final Fantasy 7's that people are desperately trying to unload now that it's available on PSN for only $10.

Case in point #2...I bring your attention to the following amazon item:

http://www.amazon.com/G-I-Joe-Real-...ef=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1244051992&sr=8-5

And now, the listings...

These go for at least $50 each on ebay, you get both Season One Parts 1 & 2 for that. Part 1 pictured below, Part 2 has same setup with cells included, but with a red case.

Going on a road trip and unloading some DVDs to help pay for it. Already sold Pt 1 and the mini-series sets. Original box (some wear), contains all DVDs in great condition, disc 3 is slightly scratched but plays fine on both my DVD players (Sony and LG). Also included are the animated cells. This is a must have for any fan, especially with the movie coming out this summer. Cash only please. Hurry, this will go fast

Talk about Craigslist Stupidity!!!!
... and now back to video games....

wow brandie, you are such an idiot. that makes no sense. In case you weren't aware, you're supposed to sell gift cards for LOWER then whats on it, NOT face value....lol, should set up a goose chase.

He did say "frequently go for", not "sit around forever while no ones buys them."

Also, If I'm paying $1700 for a game boy, it'd better have free fucking shipping.
Whoops, that should just be Castlevania. I know on some I can get more on ebay but the 15% fee plus paypal plus shipping just kills me. Silent Hill is priced high until I can get around to playing it. Thnaks for taking a look though.

FWIW, I just sold a black label Silent Hill for $53.99 on eBay.

Yeah. There's no Costco's here and the one used book chain everyone on CAG keeps mentioning that takes in used guides for $3 or so each only has a store out in Pittsburgh, which is a FIVE HOUR drive from here.

If not for that, I'd dump some of the bulk guides I have been sitting on to them.

Those prices are fine bro..
Those prices are fine bro..
Um...yeah...those prices are not fine, especially for a yard sale! If that were in my area, I would show up and insult the SHIT out of those people for putting up prices like that. Yard sales are not fucking Gamestop or ebay for Christ's sake...

You guys are nuts. Those prices are normal. If you don't like them, then don't go the yard scale. But who knows, maybe some of the people who show up will find themselves a decent deal or two.

If a similar yard sale ad were posted in the Baltimore craigslist site, I might have actually went and checked it out.

Yeah... give me a list of (unless good ones) games you would buy on the xbox for $10... let's set up a deal right now...!!!!!!

I am far from savvy about the xbox360... but there are PRECIOUS few games for the gamecube I would buy for $15 ... and I can count on one hand with a finger or two to give the bird the number of games for the Wii that I would shell out $30 for USED and in the .... well... not so beautiful part of town....

The only system I know about is the Xbox 360 and there are plenty of games worth $30 and up. The other systems might be slightly overpriced, but not enough to warrant a post. There's some Xbox games that are worth quite a bit: Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter Collection, Steel Battalion. Who knows.. you might find some gems. If you guys think $10 for an Xbox game is unreasonable, there's something wrong with you.

Those prices are NOT normal for a yard sale. A yard sale is supposed to be where you get rid of things you don't want, not try to make as much profit as you can. If they want to sell them at ebay prices, they can go sell them on ebay.

LOL, okay. I'll send you 50 different games for the XBox for $5 each - that MUST be a steal since you seem to thnik $10 a pop is a reasonable price, and I'll even throw in shipping. Sure, most of the games will be sports games, but you'll also get plenty of other $1.99-2.99 used at gamestop non-sports gems, what do you say?

Don't tell me you won't jump at the offer, otherwise you're being unreasonable.

There are about 100 games that Gamestop itself sells fot the XBox for over $10 now with their 25% off all XBox games clearance (+ 10% Edge) - and of those 100, a HUGE chunk of the games are pieces of shit that no one in their right mind would be interested in. Teen Titans, Xiaolin Showdown, UFC 2, Midnight Club 3, Ratatoiulle...and it goes on and on. And that 100 or so games (including the pieces of shit) - that's out of roughly 900 XBox games they list:

http://www.gamestop.com/Browse/Search.aspx?Ns=Price|1&N=80+137

Yeah, all of 10% of all XBox games are worth over $10 according to Gamestop, and we all know how they inflate values. $5 a pop would be 'reasonable' for XBox games to the average Joe (not to us CAGs, of course), if you're selling them all at the same price. $1-2 a pop would be a good deal. And Steel Batallion without the controller isn't worth jack shit. That's why gamestop sells the game only for $5, and the bundle for $50.

You're talking about the edge card is if it's common knowledge. You do realize you're on a site called Cheap Ass Gamer right? Our whole shtick is that we get games for cheaper than most people. Guess what? Joe Six Pack has no idea what an edge card is.. most people aren't spending a lot of time looking for cheap video games and for someone looking for old Xbox games, $10 may be considered a decent price. You guys are clearly not the target audience. Yet, you all fail to realize that. If you have any decent Xbox games for sale for $5, let me know. ;)

^I know that "average joe" might think that $10 is a decent price. But this thread is created in CAG.com for us, CAG so it's valid to joke about the CL listing then right?

And since you're the only one complaining here in this thread, are you an average joe or a CAG ???

By the way, whenever you list your stuff at CL in your area.. just put "CAG" on it somewhere. I promise that I'll not mock your ad. :)

I was offered an edge card today if I ordered a 1 year subscription to game informer for $13. I politely declined because I only go to gamestop if I'm desperate for a certain title.

Yes, it's incredibly ridiculous. I'm sure most of those are old madden games and the like. Not worth 50 cents, but if you want to buy them at ten dollars a pop, I think I can direct you to a guy :)

I think he just tagged that onto there as some sort of makeshift legal disclaimer haha. $8 for a backup might not seem like much profit... but it definitely adds up if he has a lot of customers x requests.
Dude, actually that ad isn't bullshit. I emailed her and she will seriously pay $100 for all of that. If you guys in Boston wanna make a quick $100 on something worth about $30, send her an email.
Get in there Dokstarr, hiya hiya!!!!
I'm a little bit of both gi60. This thread is for really ridiculous craigslist ads.. $10 for Xbox games isn't ridiculous.
By any standard, $10 is ridiculous. Yes, there are a few titles that command a pretty penny, but the operative word is FEW. It is a dead system and the replacement is not fully BC. $5 is too much for most tiles, but at least it's within the ballpark. The guy is looking for over used retail for his crap and that is ridiculous. He is hoping some grandparent will be duped into buying something.

i posted an ad on craigslist just for any games just to see what kind of responses i got and i just got this email

"
I have an atari 7800 unit witb multiple controllers and lots of games. I would like to get $100 or I'll just keep it under my bed."

hope it has fun under your bed!

So, this isn't game related, but I saw this and it was too funny not to post anywhere...

"""I would like some yard work done ie. weeding and turning up dirt with a shovel. $5 per hour. PAID IN CASH UPON COMPLETION! This should be done this weekend. Thank you!"""

Get this job while its hot, what an unbeatable offer. And I thought my neighbor was cheap when she gave me 10 dollars for 45 minutes of work (moving a heavy ass tree, already cut up).

Collectors Playstation - $100 (KPR)

up for sale is a original playstation (with controller, memory card) and 3 games
the games are
gran turismo 2 (simulation and arcade disk)
stage rollcage
tony hawks pro skater 3
it has the original controller and PS3 jacks and power cord
it is very rare becuase it has the s-port on the back
and i have the modchip i would sell seperatly for $10
the modchip lets you play games that you burn onto a CD-R disk
so basically you can get any game ever made for the PS1 with the modchip
this PS1 has not been used since 98 when i first bought it
it has been in storage ever since

100 dollars or trade? first reasonable offer takes
thanks

If I was him I'd sell all that stuff individually. Secret of Mana and chrono trigger are worth a pretty penny on ebay, as well as the PS3 and the Wii (even though its filled with fucking roms).
