Yet More Craigslist Stupidity!
You're talking about the edge card is if it's common knowledge. You do realize you're on a site called Cheap Ass Gamer right? Our whole shtick is that we get games for cheaper than most people. Guess what? Joe Six Pack has no idea what an edge card is.. most people aren't spending a lot of time looking for cheap video games and for someone looking for old Xbox games, $10 may be considered a decent price. You guys are clearly not the target audience. Yet, you all fail to realize that. If you have any decent Xbox games for sale for $5, let me know. ;)
Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, that has ever shopped at a Gamestop/EBGames knows what an edge card is, because they bombard you with the standard "do you have an adge card? Because you can save serious $$$ blah blah blah" schpiel every time you purchase something there. I've got plenty of "decent" XBox games for sale for $5 each, shipped. Madden 2001-2007, NBA 2001-2007, etc. etc. ;)

For an NES with Duckhunt and a Zapper? Oh hell yeah I would sell him that in a heartbeat for $100 if he was in my town. That's some serious profit right there...

I have Final Fantasy 3 for the Super Nintendo. It comes complete with manual, warranty and product cards. You wont find another one in this great of shape unless it is sealed and you wont be paying what i`m asking for mine. I am asking $50 for the game.

Here is the chain of communication...his final response is "Yeah". Should I take that to mean "Yeah, so what?" or "Yeah, I did...whoops".

My initial email:

"Hello, I saw your ad for the boxed/complete Final Fantasy 3 for SNES for $3. If you still have it, I will be happy to pay your asking price for the game. Let me know, thanks!"

Yeah, it's not a deal at all. If you have $1,000 to blow on nothing but damn Playstation games and that's all your life revolves around then possibly someone's popping a woody, but even you nerds need to take some viagra for this one.

I've never been propositioned to buy an Edge card. Not once.

All you have to know is that a good chunk of original xbox's library isn't worth any damn good money. I think the highest valued games are marvel vs capcom 2, baldurs gate 2 and futurama and maybe some more. Playstation, same thing, lots of crap thats worthless except for a few titles (final fantasy series).

Well, yes and no. For XBox, you are pretty much right. But for PS1, while there were sooooo many games for that system, well over 1000 maybe even 2000, and so much crap for the system in turn, there are quite a few games worth at least or well over $40-50 complete/mint, and many many more still commanding a good premium, from around $20 on up. But with emulation as well as more becoming available on PSN/PS3/PSP almost weekly, we shall see how much that affects valuation.

Clueless, clueless, clueless...

Wow, panama. Same idiot obviously, even if the phone numbers weren't the same it's so obvious. Someone needs to set that moron straight.

Unless those sports game bundles include multiple copies of Stadium Events, those aren't worth a $1 for the lot.

Here's one. Price isn't OMFG horrible, I mean yeah for us CAGs it's bad enough, but I just ROFL'd looking at that pick of the dog chewed controller. "Works great" though...just mind the holes and teeth marks.

Ok, I'm sitting on 2 extra tickets to see Coldplay / Snow Patrol in the 2nd row on Friday June 12th. Roommate and I just moved to Des Moines. We both had friends planning to come in for the concert who had to cancel yesterday. Neither of us know many people in Des Moines and this isn't really a concert for 4 guys to go to, which is why we're tossing this out there.

For what its worth, we're both smart, good looking, and fun. :)

Absolutely NO strings attached here, just looking for a couple girls to have a good time at the show.

A few requests:

1) Female
2) Age (22 - 30)
3) Must be fun and laid back
4) Willing to pick up at least 1/2 of the face value ($50/each)

Hit me back if interested and we can exchange photos.

I'm not sure what to think about that listing.

and I'm talking about actual good money that makes it worth it to resell. Not stuff thats worth like 10 dollars or 3 dollars. I mean the high valued stuff.

The stuff thats worth less then 10 dollars, i wouldn't even bother with. Anything that's worth 30+, that/those games, would be worth trying to resell.

Now that more people are realizing you can download emulators and roms for almost every game ever made, values are falling.

The virtual console on the wii, playstation network, and microsofts downloadable xbox games, people are going on that route instead of trying to hunt down physical legit game copies.

More than JUST the FF series were worth something on the Playstation. A few examples off the top of my head:

Silent Hill
Intelligent Qube

As for Futurama being worth anything, it's only worth what it is because of the actual demand for it. Otherwise, I don't believe it's a worthwhile game. I played it all the way through on the original Xbox and would it be worth $30 used to me to buy? HELL NO. I mean, I was a fan of the series, but it was nothing special.

So I met a huge douche on craigslist today!! here was our conversation

I put out an add for old games to add to my collection. Here was our conversation:

his first E-mail to me:

"I have the ff7, the anthology, X-2, the legend of dragoon, parasite eve, spyro riptos rage, Final Fantasy 12 collectors edition
what other systems are you wanting for"

My reply:

"how much are you asking for them? I have all the systems from NES to 360 except for stuff like the turbo, and 3D0
Joel"

Him:

"Ok i dont know what they are worth just tell me what you will give for them.. . and i dont know when i can get online again.."

Me:

"I will give you $25 for that lot, do you live close to bluffton?
Joel"

**NOT IN E_MAIL**(I have several copies of FFVII from garage sales and am not going to give market price for it)

Him:

"Bullshit man FF7 is worth 40 alone.. and 12 is worth like 15.. Nope not happenin"

Me:

"That is fine, btw, FFVII Is not worth $40 anymore they just rereleased wednesday for $10 on the PSN, Prices are droping like crazy.
Joel."

Him:

What now Punkoid...."

Me:

"What are your issues? the price is comming down!! It was about $70 for the cheapest copy last week on amazon, I predict that It will be at less than $20 by july, good thing I got my copy at the pawn shop for $5, all I wanted from your lot was parasite eve, but I'm not gonna buy from you since you are acting like a jerk!!
Joel."

Him:

"Shut your big flappin tits you obviously wanted all of them....
I understand that you need to make profit but im not a jack off and what pawn shop.. THe owners of those things are like 244 and dont know anything..."

Me:

"Dear Terrets sufferer,
I always purchase all the games in lots I buy here on craigslist, If you want proof come see all the copies of Mario 3 and Mario/Duck hunt I have in my room, lol. I'm actualy not wanting to make a profit here, I want the complete series, and not emulated copys. If you want what stuff sells for on amazon go there. I'm just telling you the truth, FFVII is not worth $40, even looking at ended auctions on Ebay they are only going for about $20-$30. For me FFVII is not special, I see it at garage sales almost every week i go, It was the best selling PS1 game of all time selling 50 million copies in the US and Japan, so lets just let thsi rest and you can go tell someone else about your grandmas flapping tits."

did I do anything out of line?

P.S. [email protected] is his e-mail addy if anyone wants to ask about his grandma.

You lowballed the shit out of him, that is what you did. You offered too low to be someone who wants to play them. I had a guy offer me $20 for MGS Twin Snakes. Not the highest I could have gotten, but high enough I know he wasn't going to sell it.

If you "predict" FFVII will be $20 in July, then wait until July and get it for that much.

Just for those seven games I would have offered $90 (assuming all black label). That isn't the most he can get for them, but it isn't low enough that he thinks you can make a profit reselling them.

i also find it funny he doesn't know the values, but knows enough to not accept that offer.

You met a big douche on CL today? How so? Did you look in a mirror? Seriously, if I had some shithead offering me $20.....excuse me $25 for SEVEN harder to get games and expecting me to take it willingly, I'd be just as beligerent as that seller was.

There's lowballing and then there's being an asshole, douchebag lowballer. You sir, are the latter.

Sinnbox you're a perfect example of the scumassgamers that inhabit this thread. You completely lowballed him.. then said FF7 isn't worth $40 (it obviously is) based on a prediction that emulation will force prices down. Dude, no one gives a flying fuck about your "predictions".

After all that you claimed to only want a physical copy and not an emulated copy....

Ridiculous.

Wow, I mean...just wow. The guy blatantly lied and said "well DURRR, I don't know what they are worth, throw me an offer durrrrr..." so Sinnbox lowballed him. I mean, what would you guys do in that situation? Tell him what the market value is on each of those and pay it? Pay 90% of it? 80%? 75%? 50%? He was asked for an offer and he gave it. Lowball that it may be, the dude doesn't have to accept that's for damn sure. And then he turns around, going from "I don't know the value" to FF7 is worth $40 minimum, wah wah waaah. Yeah, that was a SERIOUS lowball offer, but it was an offer nonetheless. No need to be rude about it, especially when the seller was FISHING and no doubt hoping that Sinnbox would offer more than what he wanted to sell them for. He didn't, and the seller threw a hissy fit because of it.

Well then, the seller should have stated originally that he had an idea of their values and indicated at least a RANGE he was targeting. The guy wasn't straightforward with Sinnbox to begin with, lowballing arguments and emulation arguments pushing values down be damned. There is validity to both those arguments, though.

But check it. You want to talk about lowballing scumbags in this thread? I just dropped a G on the most incredible G1 Transformers lot. Guy had an IAP of $1,200, let me find the ad. I certainly didn't lowball him, he may have lowballed himself but he knew he was selling it all on craigslist and wouldn't get eBay individual prices for the lot. Hell, it's worth at least 5 grand, probably upwards of 10 grand. But I paid him 84% of his asking price. Here, I'll post it in the craigslist finds topic.

:applause::applause::applause:EXACTLY. Seriously, what's with some CAGs coming in here and pointing the finger when they would do the EXACT SAME THINGS if given the opportunity. Pay the asked for $5 for a copy of Earthbound, or be "morally superior" and tell them what it's really worth? Methinks some are simply being jealous/bitter, or were insulted by this thread because some of their ads have been posted and mocked.

I ask people to give me a range or a ballpark price if i'm interested, and then i'll make a counter offer, only thing about that though they stop replying

but if they're to high or just downright insane i just pass

This exactly. Don't tell me that you wouldn't lowball a guy who didn't know what they had/wanted to get rid of what they had. The yard sale thread is full of that.

Nintendo System for trade

I would like to trade a NES with controllers & games for a PS2 or PS3 with games.
Thanks

I bet you would. I've got some old useless baseball cards that I'd like to trade for an HDTV.

Lowballing is always OK imo if no price range is specified, and the receiver can always counter back or reject the offer. No need to get angry or anything. That's not CAPITALIST, but COMMON SENSE. I don't do it to family and friends though, only stranger.

LOL, except a more appropriate analogy would be "I've got a few black and white and color TV's from the 70's and early 80's, I'd like to trade them for a Plasma or LCD flatscreen, preferably 40 inch minimum.

I think that when Ghostwire comes out for DS.. (if it's good), I'll probably sell my DS Lite and get a DSi instead. Already put the DS Lite (EZFlashV combo on craigslist). Hope I get some hits. :\
