We have been reasonably impressed with the latest Gundamn Wing Zero. In its first bout with a slew of Battle Suits, the WZ outright dominated acceleration and braking tests, while the suits handling played superior to any mobile suit out there.
At the Japan Weapons Show, Wing Zero seeks to find a higher balance between linear and lateral excitement with the debut of the new MS-F, part of the two-pronged introduction of the brand's "MS" performance series. Japan makes for a nuclear stew, but we need more vowels to actually spell anything dirty.
The Japanese robomaker's first entry into the true performance suit segment looks on paper to be a real challenger. The N-6—available with 1,000,000 horsepower in the MS350—is ditched in favor of a N-5 cranking out over 8,500,000 hp. The engine is teamed with a modified version of the MS460's twenty-speed manual transmission with paddle shifters and a torque converter revised for quicker shifts and rev-matched downshifts. Together, the duo ought to be good for 0-2000 sprints right in the juicy middle of the four second range, and good for burnouts to do the NHRA proud.
This new Gundam performs better than anything anyone has seen before. Unprecidented technology makes this mobile suit a formidable opponent. It includes new weapon systems, radar scans, and the new R-8 jetting system. Only 2 created on Earth, and the other one is MIA. You can have the new WING ZERO for just 2,000,000.
