Yet More Craigslist Stupidity!

Hey, all GOOD toys kill the kids.. I remember my good ol' lead based Voltron that got recalled because it gave kids lead poisoning.

Yup, more cheap Chinese trash that will be in dumpsters across America come January and February. Zhu Zhus are just the latest "must have" fad toy following the looooooooooooooooooong line of such toys as Chatty Kathy, Furby, Tickle Me Elmo, Tomagochi, Teddy Ruxpin, Cabbage Patch Dolls etc.

I believe "Zhu Zhu" translates directly into "poison bomb of shit for entertainment of simple American minds"

Look at this enterprising motherfucker. $45 each, or 2 sets of all 4 of these retarded fucking things (8 total) for $350!!! I gotta get my hands on a Toys R Us truck/shipment of these things, LOL:

I'm reading some reviews on amazon and it appears the retail price is $8 each for them at walmart, yet on ebay and amazon they are listed at $35+. See the problem with it is that so many people resell them that the market gets flooded with them and in january the demand will drop and all the people who bought truck loads of them are gonna be stuck with them.

Check this out! Someone must be crazy and doesn't know the meaning of NIB:p

NES Vintage 1980 NIB - $500

I have a original NES from 1980 action set. I stored it in my attic all these years and it still looks brand new. This NES system is not a refurb, it is completely untouched with original documentation and packaging. Similar systems in similar condition have sold for well over 600 dollars. If you know anything about vintage systems and are genuinely interested Email with any question or concerns.

Cl is all idiots thinking they can get back exactly what they paid 5 years ago. But still good for sellers since yours will stand out from all the shit.

I am paying you $7000 and I CAN'T PICK IT UP?
I would love to be a fly on the wall December 26 when she/he is lugging it back to the store saying, "It's not really what I wanted."

This looks like one of those "even scummier than OLD GAME flippers" ... new product flippers... finds NEW stuff on sale or clearance and then to the ebay... I am going to watch this item... but I see a lot of zhu-zhu eating come Christmas.

So far, dealing with Craiglist buyers has been a PITA. We have a bunch of people call to schedule appointments to see the items we have for sale, and then never show up! WTF? Although we haven't had anyone try to haggle with us on the price yet (and I swear, if I hear one person say, "I need it for less because I'm poor broke parent etc., I'm going to up the price by $100.)

This is happening to me as well. I get a few calls, they schedule to come over and never show. Maybe 5 times on 4 different items. Its crazy. I dont know whats happening with craigslist, but i do not like it, no sir.

Whatever you do, don't meet them anywhere. Tell them they have to come to your house and if no one comes just call the next person. I used to waste my gas trying to meet people at places and when I got there they would vanish without any further contact. To not even have the decency to tell someone you changed your mind is a dick move.

Do you really want these weird people knowing where you live?
Do you really want these weird people knowing where you live?
One thing I've done is to make sure all my items that are for sale are kept in the garage, and only shown in the garage, so I don't have flaky strangers walking through my home. (Although, granted my home is a mess because I'm in the middle of a remodel....)

Say you're selling something for one hundred dollars, a person messages you and says "I need it for cheaper!" You should then email them back and say the new price is 150, but you'd be happy to knock 50 bucks off just for them.

Well yea, on the other side of the coin letting them know where you live you risk dealing with a crazy person who will ask for a refund if they break the item and say it didn't work and they'll start threatening you if you refuse.

"I'mo come to ya house wit ma boys if you don't gimme ma money back yo"

I rarely sell on craigslist... but when I do... I just tell them to meet me at the Walmart that's about a block from my house... and I only give a 15 minute window... "I will be there at 12:00; at 12:15 I am gone." If they don't show, there's always something at Wally World that I needed to pick up...

LOL, maybe this guy got ripped off by that vintage game store in the OC that "allegedly" stole some kid's complete Earthbound/Chrono Trigger/DS Lite, depending upon which story you've heard...

make sure you know the value of your games before you let them go at a cheap price

example- nes
Duck Tales 2: $37 – $130
Rarity = 5
Duck Tales 2 is the sequel to the original Duck Tales game on the NES and is, of course, based on the Disney TV series that many of us grew up with. The single biggest determinant in the game being hard to find now and a collector’s item, it was released in 1993.

n64
International Superstar Soccer 2000: $44 – $80
This PAL only release is one of the hardest to find N64 games of any region, but since its an old sports game, there isn’t a huge demand for it. Every now and then you can find the carts for under $50, but they are especially hard to find complete with box. If you find a complete copy, you can expect a much higher premium from collectors.

ps1
Valkyrie Profile: $89 – $155
Rarity = 3
Valkyrie Profile is an action/turn based RPG hybrid and has become a cult classic to the many RPG fans in the Playstation crowd. The original game is hard to find now, but it has since be released on the PSP, which probably sparked continued interest in the original.

this is for every reseller trying to rip people of by asking 10 for earthbound or $3 for a complete ffvii

---------------------------------

And then we have this...note the incredible camera work...sure to hypnotize people into paying 3 times (maybe even 4 times considering the PSN release) the current market rate...

Sometimes i wonder if that site should be "Scammerslist.com"

fucking Chinese spammer thieves...

Although the Engrish in their ads is pretty damn hilarious:

"if your spending more than $500, we offer 32gb ipod touch for free, if your spending more than $1000, we offer 16gb iphone for free, the more your spending, the more great worth free gift waiting for you to come and collect."

What I don't get are the no-shows from people who used their WORK E-MAIL ADDRESS to contact you in the first place. Umm... I now know that you're John Simpson from John Simpson Real Estate.

Had some guy interested on tuesday in some PS1 games I wanna unload. Said it was "late" and would come tomorrow (wednesday). Asked for my address and number and said he will call when he's on his way. No call. No email. Not a soul shows up. What's funny he gave his number. I should prank call it.

Or sign "Jacob's MAO" email up for some viagra spam.

Yeah, unfortunately the items I have for sale are not small. Three year old kitchen set, in working order-matching fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and oven-the only reason I'm getting rid of it is because my home is being remodeled. Its not like I can just throw them in the back of my car and say "Hey, meet me at Walmart in 15 minutes for the sale!"

At this point my husband is going to call some of his clients (property management companies, local landlords, etc.) to see if they need kitchen appliances at a deep discount. I really wish the stuff was just gone though...I have an entire set of kitchen appliances sitting my garage where my car should be parked...grrr! How do I tell my car it has to sit outside, parked in the cold every night?

It looks like a competent person could rehab that with about $30 in parts from dealextreme. It's certainly not a steal, but to the right person it might be a decent deal.

When I put a new case on a ds, one of the harder parts was getting the hinges apart. At least with this one that is already done for you. :)

Gotta love craigslist haters. Reminds me of the time I tried to flip my BlackBerry 9700 before it was available to regular customers, and someone kept on flagging it. I'm assuming it was the other guy who had a listing for the same phone, so I did the same thing to him.

So, spend $30 on said broken phat DS system and HOPEFULLY spend only $30 more on parts...$60 total so far...then put in the time and effort to repair the system (even if you're highly adept at repairs, you're still looking at a half hour to an hour of your time), OR go to just about any Gamestop and get a similar DS phat, allbeit WORKING and in 1 piece, for the same $60. Again,

Still a "decent deal"?

Man im pissed. This dude had a xbox 360 and some games for sale for a nice price. I emailed him and set up a time to pick it up today because he was busy yesterday., That bastard wrote me at 1:30 in the morning saying he sold it.

I've been trying to sell some stuff for a while on Craigslist. I picked up a Compaq Laptop (~$400 new) and a 360 Elite w/Fallout 3, Too Human, and wireless adaptor for $350. I kept the 360 Elite and the laptop for now, and tried to turn around and sell my 360 Pro 20gb. You wouldn't believe what I go through with this thing.

I know there are better deals, but I'm selling a perfect, no issues (never had an issue) xbox 360 Pro 20GB, with both games mentioned above, controller, all wires, original box, paperwork, AND receipt (really, who else has that with their box? Purchased in 05/08 which means it's still under warranty!). I have listed it for a few different thing. W/wireless card for $240, W/O wireless for $200, W/O games for $180. Trade for a PS3, trade for a Wii, whatever.

I get 2 or 3 emails a day on these things, but not a single person has followed through. My favorites are the 3 different guys who are trying to trade me paintball guns that range in value from $180 to $1100 apparently, though I know nothing about paintball aside from using rented equipment and shortly owning a Tippman that someone else customized. I also remember it being too expensive to interest me further. I also get these people who want to trade, set up times to test equipment and just don't bother to show up.

My new rule with this or anything in the future is that the buyer has to give me a call an hour before our meeting, otherwise I am not guaranteeing I'll be there. I have never been a dead beat buyer. I email anyone and everyone. I even email people back to tell them that I appreciated doing business with them, refuse their offer, or answer any and all questions.

Craigslist is the greatest, but most frustrating thing ever!

Thanks, I definately plan to. I found this site while looking at the sponsers of that bus driving charity event. I can't remember what it's called, but I think it's awesome none the less. I read about it last year and caught another blurb this year. This year, however, I saw the sponsorship and loved the groups name.

I wish I had more to put up for sale/for trade, but I tend to keep every game I buy or play. I still have another 15-20 games in plastic since buying them because I havn't had the time. One day I will!!! :) Now I just hunt for bargains and try to turn them around, or sell other things for games, etc. I've already listed my have/want list :)

Let me preface this by saying that I am a black man that has always been capable of "handling himself" .... and let me also state that with said information, I wouldn't go to this neighborhood after 5 without a BIG FRIEND or some heat....
Of course, the price is a big giveaway... this is a "jacking" ready to happen..
Nintendo Wii + Games - $75 (D Street, LV)

Hello folks! Selling one Nintendo Wii video game system with four games: New Super Mario Bros (a total riot), Mario Kart (with wheel), Madden 10 (Go Browns!), and Wii Fit (Exhausting!). The console is in superb shape, but I do not have any controllers because my dog keeps chewing them up. The wheel for Mario Kart has chew marks, but still works. I am selling at a low price to move it. I am only willing to accept a cashiers check or a money order (for obvious reasons). I will be available to meet at or around my house (sorry, no car) after five.
