YMMV ToysRUS "Green" Clearance is up to 70% off!

I picked up Sin and Punishment for the Wii ($5) and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition ($12).
The had a variety of other games, I picked these up in Leominster MA.

The worker said the prices will steadily decrease, but he is not sure when the next drop will be.

They had an assortment of other games on ALL consoles.
Some hidden gems.

Just look for the games with a Lime Green tag on them. They all say "Was $##.##" but don't give the real price until you check them either at a register or kiosk.

I was just told that bringing in so many receipts was depriving other guests of the customer service desks attention. lol

Got about 40$ back so far, I noticed that the exchange receipts seem to lose the blue/green tag which is annoying.
From the looks of the local TRU's around me, these non existent customers must be clamoring for that service desk

I was disappointed at the lack of quality in my local TRU's clearance selection when I visited this morning. I was even more disappointed to see Wonderful 101 wasn't marked as Clearance. After seeing some posts in this thread about it not being marked but still ringing up, I decided to go back and try on a whim this evening after my last final. I asked the girl working there to scan W101 and it showed $12, so I picked up the last copy they had for $12.64 with tax.

Now I just gotta wait until I get a WiiU.

Edit: TL;DR - W101 wasn't marked as clearance but it was anyway

Thanks thread.

Stopped by the Sugar Land, TX store tonight after work. Picked up Jak and Daxter Collection and MLB The Show 13 for :vita: for $12 each, and Hot Shots Golf :vita: for $8. Also picked up 2 MOGA PowerA bluetooth controllers for $12 each to give as gifts.

Got there late. Wish I would have had more time. There are still some games there.

You can buy my Wii U and your problem is solved :)

I updated the master list with the new prices due to the price drops. Link is in my sig. Will try and get it moved to the OP as soon as I can.

Just an fyi for people looking at Wii U games at Toys R Us, 007 Legends is 9.97 at Amazon through third party fulfilled by amazon top rated sellers.

Picked up Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation :Vita: For $12 yesterday. Ran to Target and did some shopkicks which I redeemed for a $5 TRU Gift card so it actually only cost me about $8 OTD.

So if I understand their policy correctly....

I purchased 3 Wii U blue clearance items this past Weds.  I can take just my receipt back in & get an additional 10% back now that the blue tags are 70% off, right?

That's typically how price adjusting works. But if you get a pissy employee or manager they may make you bring the games back in sealed for a return/rebuy.

Anyone in SoCal seen the more choice DS/3DS/WiiU games in stock at a TRU? Star fox, kid Icarus, project x zone, wonderful 101? Kindly PM me or report the location if so please, thanks!

My local one is empty, but the girl told me the ones that have it are in the boonies, she said riverside and Ontario (I'm not sure how this is the boonies to someone, I thought Ontario was supposed to be nice?) have a lot. This was Monday though so don't know about now.

In case this is relevant.

West Mifflin only has Steel Diver and a few other garbage for 3DS.

No more Kid Icarus, Kingdom Heart, Layton, Naruto, Starfox.

What WiiU games are you finding blue tagged? Only blue tagged games I've seen have been things like those 3DS games with the bobbleheads.

Getting the right employee is key. I got shot down last night when I tried. At the same TRU, one employee let me do it at the first drop but not when I brought it in at a second drop, another employee let me return and rebuy without a problem, and then the one last night who refused. There's at least one other employee there who I know would refuse me so it really depends on your luck.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but I'm not going back 128 pages to check.  My store has been pretty picked over for a while but I noticed a few of the clearance titles are available on toysrus.com for full price.  An option would be to order the title and do a return/rebuy in store to get the clearance price.  I ordered 2 copies of Wonderful 101 to do this with.   The only issue with this method is that the order must be 49.99 or more to qualify for free shipping.

I found 8 of the Xbox Live Gold 12-month Membership Day One edition marked $59.99 (blue) so it would have been $18 each.  Tried to ring them up but it didn't come up discounted.  The store manager tried but he said something about cannot price adjusted these because they are like gift cards.   I said Oh wells. But he gave me $50 store credit and ran up my 4 ($2.50) toys items for free.  Nice guy.

Also found some Afterglow wireless and wired headset for $99.99 and $59.99 (both blue) if anyone in the area is interested.   This is at the Hesperian, Hayward, CA store.

Anyone near the store in Royal Palm Beach, FL....  The store is doing very bad in customer service and management will do anything to make you happy to get good feedback.  They've been taking coupons from companies that aren't even competitors.  Just an fyi...

So did you just returned and bought it again on the spot? No hassles from manager or anything...

I just ordered it today so I'll let you know how it goes this later this week. I don't think there would be any reason they would hassle you. The stores accept returns from the website so if they won't let me do a return/rebuy, I'll just do a return and then ask them if those two copies of Wonderful 101 are for sale. Worst case scenario is I wasted a small amount of my time.

Best thing to do in this case would be to not use a rewards card for your online purchase. Take your packing slip in store and say you want to rebuy it to put it on your rewards card.

That Plan wont work. online it is $29.99 right? so $29.99 x 2 = $59.98 plus taxes. now read this policy they have.

Online purchases returned within 90 days to our online Returns Center by mail will receive a refund of the price of the item and any applicable taxes will be issued in the original form of payment used to purchase the item except when returning an online item to a store and when returning an item paid for with our Pay in Store payment option.

Returns to stores with an online packing slip or gift receipt:

  • If you are returning an item using a gift receipt or .com packing slip, your refund will be in the form of a merchandise credit
http://www.toysrus.com/helpdesk/index.jsp?display=returns&subdisplay=returns

so by there policy you spent $60+ taxes on your online order and now when you return it you will get your two games for $12.00 a piece for $24 total plus tax after the rebuy but then you are going to be stuck with $36 in toys r us credit from the returns. You actually didn't save nothing unless you shop at toys r us enough.

Yeah, strange you would get a merchandise credit just for buying online.  If they let you rebuy the same games instore, you should be credited the difference on your card.

Are they constantly tagging new items for this clearance cycle? Just wondering if possibly some of the older Vitas might show up eventually.
To my knowledge, and that of my co-workers, nothing new has been added to the clearance promotion for a week or two now. At this point, seeing as the lowest % off is 40, I think they're done adding items to the promotion - they'll just increase the % off until everything is gone.

That is a good deal, but if anyone is feeling down about not finding CoD Ghosts for Wii U, it's 28.50 with Prime Shipping through the Amazon marketplace. Even Amazon themselves is selling it for 29.99.

Of course, price adjusting it when it drops is going to yield a much better deal than Amazon has right now

I can tell you first hand that the following TRUs do not have what you're looking for: Alhambra, Monrovia, West Covina, Chino Hills and Upland.

Hope it helps.

I want to thank whoever mentioned using Shopkick to get a Toys R Us gift card earlier. I totally forgot TRU is an option on there (I usually just cash out $5 Best Buy gift cards soon as I'm able. I had enough for $5 already and realized with Target's scans I'd hit $10 so did those then went to TRU. Found Puss In Boots (360) for $8 and Adventures of TinTin (PS3) for $4. Paid $2 cash then went to Best Buy and traded them in for $9 each so $19.80 total with GCU. Basically turned what would have been my $10 Best Buy gift card into a $20 so I'm happy. Wish there had been more copies of TinTin though, I can't believe that gets $9 at Best Buy still (for PS3).
