I'll call the # on the receipt just for fun, since I've already been jerked around by local WM employees. I might as well give some back to some somewheres else. :D:applause:

Thanks for the information about the price change. It'll be a little ammo for my return trips to track down the elusive PM'ing manager who "left for the night." I bet he was in the back taking a smoke or some such, and all had a hearty guffaw at my expense.

Thank you;)

I called back again at my local walmart. If there will be a price drop, it will happen after 7:00A.M. when the day shift settles in. Let's cross our fingers!

I cruised to 2 WM's here in Dallas and found the following at $19.82, but sadly ES was still reg price of $60. :whistle2:/

Again, hold the phone till tomorrow. Let's see what happens. By far and large the price drop wont be universal till tomorrow morning if at all.

It only makes sense that there may be add'l Wii or PS3 games added to a Walmeezy 12/31 19.82 clearance no? Any insight?
True enough, but what kind of CAG would I be if I didn't give it a concerted effort? I'm not far from two WMs, so I'm going to return and try again.

--BF
A smart CAG because Walmart is not suppose to PM other Walmart. The manager that agreed to do it isnt doing what he is suppose to do.

Who cares if said manager does in fact do the PM.

Anyway I'll personally hold up to see if there is in fact a price drop tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. I'd bet money this is just one crazy YMMV deal not to be replicated and 99.99999% of stores.

Oh please. This goes on all the time all over the country. This situation also accounts for the YMMV tag, as people will likely find those who will match and those who won't.

In the end, WM is supposed to help me save money and live better. One way they can do that is to sell me Eternal Sonata for $19.82 :applause::D

I'm going to stop by after work tomorrow and see what's up with this...I'm in NY so I don't think they'll PM this receipt - but worth a shot!

Never seen a video game bin at my Walmart... I guess I'll search around the store for some general merchadise bins and see if I get lucky.

I have to wake up very early tomorrow anyway, I might as well pass by my local WM since I don't live very far from it. Hopefully, I'll be able to grab a copy. I've been wanting this game and for $20, it's a no-brainer for me.

Did you hit Frisco/Plano and the Little Elm ones? Just so I know which one to check out.

No it does not. A walmart is not even suppose to PM the Walmart across town. If a manager said it is okay, fine. But if you dont know for sure and to drive around Walmart trying to PM with a receipt from another walmart is a waste of time. This isnt really to you BF but more to other people who try to PM at walmart.

I'll check my WM today after work....every time I tried to call the electronics department, I get asked by the person picking up, "Is it about the Wii?" No, you idiot it's not. Then when I finally get the electronics department, the person picking up the phone acts like she can't talk or even answer my question. I have to be pushy and hope they'll come back from putting me on hold (which they don't).

Here's the deal:

I live in the same area as the OP. However, I am about an hour away atm @ my girlfriends for the new year. I went to EVERY walmart in the radius except for that one. ALL but ONE of the stores had it in stock and the ONLY one that did it was still priced $60. I asked the manager with the scanner if it is a universal drop and he said no, he just updated all the prices. I asked him if I could price match with a receipt from that store and he said no, just drive to it since its only 50 miles away. He mentioned that he was 95% certain it was a pricing error or it was the last copy that the store manager may have just clearanced out by accident or needed case space.

If I had to bet, I would say this is a special lucky case and not even a YMMV.

Ok so doing my part I stopped at a Wal-mart in Clarksville,Indiana the game was still in the glass case marked at 59.82, asked an associate if he could scan for the universal drop and he did still rang in at 59.82. I check the Wal-mart in New Albany, Indiana. Same story at this one. Then before coming into work this morning I stopped at the Wal-Mart on the Outer Loop at Louisville Kentucky and didnt even see the game in stock.

3 wal-marts, all failure. YMMV strikes again.

Congrats to the lucky op who got Eternal Sonata at 19.82.

Congrats to the lucky op who got Eternal Sonata at 19.82.
I believe it. I live in the Fort Wayne area, and I remember when they marked down Disgaea 2 and TotA cheap. They did it at two of the northern locations, while the locations near me (which is more south) didn't mark the price down. Wal-Mart game prices do vary by store.

As for ES, I'd buy the game asap at that price, but I doubt I'd see that price.

For those of you who don't have a clearance "bin", my WM's have a rectangular shelfing unit right outside the electronics section. It holds Game Guides and $19.82 games. Unfortunately no ES, but Beowulf, FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Sonic the Hedgehog, and some other assorted crap was in there.

Also, they had a shelf across from the glass video games cases (which I hadn;t noticed before but is adjacent with PC games) with $30 games like Crackdown, Shawdowrun, Darkness, etc.

Just got back from my local WM. It was a no-go. Eternal Sonata rings up $60. If anyone finds some for $20, don't forget to buy a few copies for the rest of us :)

I'm off to make my attempt now in Bel Air, MD. I shall log the results of my journey upon my return.

Edit: Fail. This is very much starting to sound like a deal bragging thread, rather than a YMMV. But good enough to keep checking anyway.

I went to my Walmart in Venice Florida and I checked the bargain bin and ES wasn't there. I did check the Xbox display and it was selling for $60. Anyway this game has sold poorly as well as Blue Dragon. I expect both to be around the $20-30 price point in 6 months.

Blue Dragon is already at the $30 mark, at Frys at least. It was in one of their recent ads, so you can PM if more convenient.

It's also $30 at GameCrazy for the New Year's Sale, or $40 at EB/GS regularly. And, dammit, I was really hoping this would be universal, as I have a Walmart gift card and never even go to walmart, so I would have like to use it up.

I've got to buy some groceries, I'll post if I find cheapass Eternal Sonata.

EDIT - Nope, come to think of it, I can't remember ever seeing ES at my local Wal-Mart. Good luck to everyone else.
Wal-Mart has clearance bins? Since when? At mine, all games are locked behind glass :/
The same with my Wal-Mart they never have a clearance bin and all the games are locked up.

Just got back from the Wal-Mart in Fresno, Ca. Shaw & Marty...

Eternal Sonata is $59.82....

No luck here

lol and that recipet was self checkout too, I think you luckied out lol if there was a empolyee on that check register and knowledgable of that game price, I think you would've been shot down haha

Wal-mart employee knowledge.......never

Didn't find the game at all at the Walmart in Clairemont Mesa, San Diego, CA.

It seems like the "bargain bin" is just a case that has a bunch of games for 19.82. The selection of games in the case was horrible as well.

I checked 4 different Walmarts today in Austin, and it was listed as $59.74 at all of them. Oh well, congrats to the OP, and good luck to everybody else! :)

I happened to notice this game today at the local Walmart and its a no-go for the south Miami walmart. Was 59.xx there.

you didn't even bother trying to goto walmart for this anyways, it's reality :applause:

why? if op found it at $19.82 and it rang up $19.82 and they have a $19.82 bin, what's the problem? congrats op, even though it's a ymWv.
The hell? Yours had disgaea 3? Can you pick me up some?
I meant Disgaea 2 (although I badly wish that was Disgaea 3, lol). I greatly apologize for the typo.

No luck at Wal-Mart in my area.
