Yoshi's Island 2 - 82%
I have played it in an EB, it feels so much like the first one at times I thought they took levels from the first one and added them to this one.
It feels like the first one for a while, but then you (or at least I) realize it doesn't have that "magic" of the first one as the levels really never go anywhere in terms of creativity and stay much more straight forward than in the first one.

I played it the other day and honestly, I'm not impressed. I can see Artoon put effort into making this close to Yoshi's Island- the same graphical style is there, as is the gameplay- but they did TOO MUCH. It feels almost exactly the same as the first, except with two screens, multiple babies and a few new gameplay elements (wind-flowers). The first boss is literally the exact same.. except there's two. I just can't get into it. I was hoping for something similar to Yoshi's Island, but still having bunches of new gameplay elements and having its own soul.

I can't help but feel that Artoon followed too closely to the original blueprint because they lack the talent needed to make a genuinly AWESOME, five star game.

Beat the game last night, and I have to say I enjoyed it. I thought the level design was plenty creative, and Jesus did it get REALLY hard in the last few levels. And now I opened up the first 5 secret levels...

I've wasted 20 lives or so on that "fickle platforms" section of Secret 5 (the third section of it). Yeesh!

After putting some more time into it, I can definitely say it is a good game. I really liked the ghost boss in paticular.. it's been done before- hell, even in other Mario games- but I thought this was done the best.

Still, for the most part my opinion on it hasn't changed. Yoshi's Island 2 feels a bit samey.

Okay, I need serious help here. I'm about to snap my DS in half in frustration

I'm playing Secret 5. When I started the level, I had 78 lives. I now have 13.

I'm on the very last section of the level...
Where you transform into 'super mario' and run along the spikes through all the pirhanna plants. I can get to the very end, but then there's a big ass rock blocking between me and the door...so time runs out, i turn back into Yoshi and die. What the fuck? HOW DO I GET PAST IT?

ARRRRRGH!:bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

I've gotten 100% all worlds 1-4 and half of world 5 and I haven't even beaten any of the extra or secret levels. Trying to get 100% on some of the world 5 levels is pissing me off, should I even bother trying to get 100% for the whole game? Is it even worth the frustration?

I'm just starting to play this. I'm on World 2 right now. Do they have the effects when you hit stuff like when you get dizzy on the first one?
