lol BluRay on a SDTV

These are my working / sorted Atari games. These represent 3% of my games collection although I don't really collect games in the traditional sense. I buy them when they are cheap at sales. I took 2 pictures of each because of the flash. Last count it was 180 different working games with manuals. I have more, but they have not been processed.
I was lucky and played through the Asian version before it was even announced for a US release, so luckily I knew to keep mine sealed. I also ended up getting a deluxe edition through Goozex so I can read the guide if I want! :D

Thanks! I was eyeing it and it eventually went OOS at Gamestop and online and I wanted to grab a copy before Hitmangaming got all over it.
i've seen hitmangaming referenced in several Afrika threads on cag. who is he and whats the joke im missing? lol

I don't know if there is a joke but I think there a ebay or amazon seller or maybe both, I know I've seen the name in one or the other.
No, I agree. Way too organized mess. How do you play a game?

*takes out game, pile falls*

Why not any shelves? Did you waste too much money to do that? It's a good collection otherwise.

Oh man, don't ever get a cat. If you had a cat, it would totally jump on top of one those piles and bring everything down on top of you. Then, while you're being crushed by your games, your cat would walk away and lift up it's tail so you saw its asshole.

Yeah, cats are jerks.
if i remember correctly, these are on the top shelf of a closet so cats getting up there would be a challenge anyway and the reason they are there is because of a kid.

Sigged!

Yes, they are a bunch of Lego Star Wars Battle Packs, need to have a large Clone Trooper army! Lego is my other expensive Hobby. No, we have a house and I keep them in the closet because I just don't really want to have so many shelves, it just works at least for now until I get more games.

Partially =P It's actually a real picture from the bedroom.

We just got our second PS3 in yesterday from warehouse deals, so I wanted to test it. So I just put in Alice. However, it's staying connected to that SDTV until I get a second HDTV, which I'm keeping an eye out for.

When we bought our 37", 2.5 years ago, it was always intended to be a placeholder until we had money to buy a bigger one for the living room, and to use the 37" TV in the bedroom (I'm near sighted, so I can see captions on the 37" well without glasses).

For now, it's so pitiful that I was cracking up while taking the picture. I couldn't even read the menu on Alice.

P.S. Just started looking for TV deals, since there should be great deals now that Super Bowl's over. Haven't even settled on a size yet. Just know it'll be at least 46".

Nothing major just a 40" Samsung, I bought it I think 4-5 years ago when LCD like this were selling for over $2000. I really want to get a 3D TV but the wife won't let me until one of the sets break/beyond repair. I guess it's for the better to let the technology get better and not become an early adopter.

If you think that's good I've got a killer 19 inch beast.

It was a Best Buy return so asking price was $40 about six years ago.
Tech specs:
- The audio and visual (white and yellow thingies in the front) don't work so I had to learn what an RF modulator was. Before that I used a twenty-pound VCR that no longer worked as an adaptor for my Playstation 1.
- The picture is crystal clear in comparision to early gaming tvs I used, the color one with the skizzle bands constantly going up the screen, the black and white one that had "ghosts" as I played Dragon Warrior 1. I'm not even going to mention the one that would make high-pitched screams and burn a satan face into the picture tube.
i've seen hitmangaming referenced in several Afrika threads on cag. who is he and whats the joke im missing? lol
I'm pretty sure he meant hitgaming. Hitgaming is a mass hoarder. As soon as they see that a game is going up in value, they hoard all the cheap/cheaper copies and then charge a premium for them.
Shifted things around once again.

Took these pictures with my iPhone, so not the best quality, but gets the point across.

LOL, your DS collection is insane.

How much do you pay for each DS game, on average? Are you missing any key/popular game? Are all of those NA versions or do you also have imports?

27 are imports, the rest are all NA versions.

Missing some of the more recent popular titles from the last year since I had to stop and pursue other consoles up a bit, but getting back to it again now.

But working back up the DS collection again, after a small sabbatical.

Back to work! :D

I don't know what it is, but I love collecting guides. Ikea makes a great bookshelf (Billy!) to hold 'em in and it only cost like $70. The great thing is that the shelves don't bend or bow even with all that weight on 'em.

Oh, and the bottom shelf is my collection of Nintendo Powers. I was gonna ebay 'em, but when we were packing up to move to Utah, I started going through them and realized I can't get rid of them yet. There's actually a couple with some really great posters still attached (Super Metroid, Star Fox). I'm debating about taking them out and having them framed!

Finally got in the last two plastic shelves to complete the transformation of my super mega ultra handheld shelf.

It's a little over 8' tall.

Holy crap! I have over 100 video games include PCs, PS1/2, and PS3. Someday, I'll move out to a new apartment and fill my new shelves with a bunch of video games, then take a snapshot of mine. :p
No... I hate that f'n place, they moved to a new location last year, or the year before? Don't remember.
I hate that place too. Everytime I've gone in to shop there, the place was always filled with screaming kids doing card tournaments and the employees would be yelling at them. So, not a pleasant atmosphere to shop. But the big reason I stopped going there was because their customer service sucks. I took a console in to be repaired, and they gave me an estimate of a week for the work to be finished. It took them almost a month to fix the console (and me calling everyday harassing them to finish the work), and when I showed up at the store to pick it up, the employees had it hooked up to a TV in a corner of the shop and were playing games on it. This made me strongly suspect that the employees had just kept the console over the repair time just to keep playing it themselves. I never went back there again after that.

I finally got around to taking a picture of my console collection, but unfortunately there is one missing from my roster; my Game Boy Micro. He has gone AWOL and I will begin the search for him tomorrow.

Took me a while to get my new hosting figured out the way I want but the site is back the way I had it. I know posting pics would be easier for you, but when there's about 50 pics it would be better to do it this way.

http://home.roadrunner.com/~dpsx7/main.html

I updated the site and added a couple pics from late last year. However there's about 25 recent purchases that haven't been added yet so this site is always changing. There's also some collectibles I want to add besides the MM9 press kit at the bottom. Maybe if I have some time this weekend...
Damn, Lotta. Nice collection.

And, yes, I know. I want a SEGA Saturn and Dreamcast. I just haven't found one cheap enough, yet.
Oh, don't forget Sega CD

Thanks. I got lucky on both DC and Saturn. Had a DC once and sold it around the PS2 launch. Later buying another although I never filled out the collection. There were a few great games on there despite not liking fighters and sports.

The Saturn was an ordeal. To make it short I bought it on Ebay after sniping the sniper (it came with Nights, the 3D controller and Guardian Heroes). Thanks to UPS it took about 2 months to arrive and most of the cases were smashed. I replaced what I could and keep an eye out for other games that catch my eye.

The reason I'm missing stuff like the Sega CD, Jaguar, TG16, or Neo Geo is either price or lack of interesting titles. My collection only consists of games I'll play rather than padding it with fluff. There's more I'd like to add though if the right deal comes along.

I've been looking into getting some shelving for one of my rooms in which to store my collection, but the problem I'm having is I have this blasted ledge that juts out from one of the walls (it sticks out about 5 1/2"). I was wondering if any other CAGs have had to deal with that and what they did to work with it or if someone knew of some shelving units that I could set on top of these ledges that I could use instead? I looked at some other images in the thread, but 60 pages of them was a lot to sift through to see if someone had a similar setup.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Is it like a mantle type ledge? Or an indentation? If so, those Ikea wall units I use and someone else had might be good.

Basically, it's like part of the wall juts out further than the other halfway down. So, like an indentation I suppose.

Do you happen to have a link to the wall units you were referring to?

Those are the perfect size for cd cases. I used to put my cds, ps1 games, dreamcast games, etc around the whole room.

I have that precise situation in my room. Here's what I've done with it.
814043351_photobucket_40017_.jpg

So I bought this random thing at Target that looks like it was made for shoes, cut it down the middle and then just stacked it on itself. I got it for $9 or so, so pretty good for the price. Then I just added a few of those clear Init DVD cases that were mentioned earlier.

814043351_photobucket_40018_.jpg

The ledge continues behind my big DVD case so there is technically wasted space, but really no other way for me to fit all my games. Also, getting closer to replacing all my GHs.

814043351_photobucket_40031_.jpg

My measly Bluray collection just got kicked out by my growing 360 games, still trying to think of a good place to put them.

814043351_photobucket_40034_.jpg

More awesome ledge-ness in the living room.
