Your collection - post a photo - show us what'cha got!

The stuffed guys I got from one of the Nintendo Power catalogs they used to do back in like 1998 or so when the 64 was out. Not sure if they make them any more but they sure are cool.

Havn't done an update in a while, as I've actually trimmed down my non-SNES collection down quite a bit. Notable additions are MegaMan X Controller, Dreamcast System, A couple handhelds, and a freaking sealed UForce! Also I took some close ups of my games so there are quite a few pictures, EXTREME CLOSE UP, WHOAAAA!

Out of curiosity, how much do the carts sell for the arcade unit? Where was that MMX controller available, I don't remember it being sold at stores, actually looks pretty neat!

It depends on the rarity, some as high as $300 if you have the kit. Others you can pick up for a few bucks. neo-geo.com has a handy dandy price list. The MMX Controller was pretty limited, it was released thrid party and hung around for a pretty short time.

Thanks guys, you were all very helpful. I think I have some ideas for inspiration now.

@tooshorty - What was that thing called? And by cut it down the middle, I assume you mean you sawed it down so it has less depth? At any rate, your setup looks perfect for what I had in mind.

I am not sure of the exact name, when I'm at Target later this week I'll check for you since I can't seem to find it on the site.

Yeap, precisely. Cut it right down the middle so each shelf is just that of a DS/NES game pretty much, 31" long and 4 shelves then instead of just two.

How do you deal with having so many systems connected to one television?

Nice. Did u take it to a photo shop like CVS?
I just framed my Bioshock 2 posters.
Check out www.neogaf.com. They have other game art.

Looks like a typical frame that you buy at Wal-Mart or the like - a clear sreen with four sides that you put on when the picture is in there. I have a few for some of my posters.

Now if only I could find someone on Craigslist that would buy my NSMB Wii poster...
How do you deal with having so many systems connected to one television?
Well 360, PS3 and Cable box are all HDMI, Wii is component, DC is VGA, SAT, N64, SNES and Xbox are normal RCA which are hooked up to a switch box, and the NES and GEN go through the cable line.

Will CVS enlarge copywritten work? There's some game art I'd like made into a 22x28 poster just like they used to send us at Game Crazy. I still have some of that stuff framed.

Going to do this over 2 posts cuz there is a lot of pictures.

Wow that's an amazing collection Vendetta. Although I do wonder why do you have multiple copies of certain games? I see at least 4 copies of Mass Effect 1 ;)

For franchise I like, I tend to collect sealed copies. ;)

Wow. I can't believe how much stuff some of you guys collect. My collection consists of about 15 games in between the LBP2 bookends. It's not much to look at, and I trade stuff in way too often. There are only a few games I keep for more than a few months. Kudos to those who can actually collect games and resist the temptation to trade them.

I like having sealed copies of games I like too but not more than 1 sealed copy. And I'm glad I'm not the only one with bent bookshelves.

Does everyone that sees ur shelves feel the need to say "do u know they're bent?" >.

o_o Vendetta's Collection is... is....
screw it, I can't think of a word that describes the awesomeness! Dx
I'd post pics of my pathetic collection, but but most of the game cases are in a box somewhere... >_>
I have everything on spindles xD I need a shelf :p

A most impressive collection, ZxT. At this point, there's no comparison...aside from the guidebooks stored under my bed. I just don't find any appeal in displaying/organizing them when I can utilize shelf space for more lovely moe / mecha figurines :p .

Yeah I bought the frame at Target noting special. It's also not a poster. It's a puzzle.I put it all together, put the puzzle glue, and framed it.

Vendetta has a very impressive PS2 collection. I didn't even see a single Greatest Hits case in there.

Nice Kosmos and Telos collection too.
Sealed copies are a waste of money and space. Even if it's your favorite game.
You could say the same about sealed toys or movies. No need to knock on someone elses preference in their collection especially if your not contributing anything positive to the thread.

BTW nice collections to all the posters in this thread. When I finally get mine set up I can't wait to show it off in this thread.

Not really to knock those who have sealed copies either, I think games are meant to be played and not left sealed. My collection doesn't contain dupes (well not many since a few are present from lot purchases), and anything sealed just hasn't been played yet. And I probably have just as many Virtual Boy games as I do DVD's.

my sealed collection of games is worth more than your unsealed collection of the exact same games.

lets not even get into the long run.

I have to agree with Lotta. Games are meant to be played and enjoyed. I don't see the point to keeping a game sealed up forever! I'd rather buy another copy (or two depending on how much you play it and who'll be playing with you) and have them unsealed. Now, I do see the point in keeping them sealed IF you want to sell them later on, but is that what having a collection means to you? I just like having my collection to show others what fun times I had in my past and, hopefully, my collection will be around to show my kids and their kids what fun original Playstation or NES games are like! ^^ That's why I collect games: to preserve a childhood memory.

This. My collecting habits are due to showing them off mostly and to remember all the good times gaming so to speak. The money (value going up) isn't that important to me honestly.

If I wanted to invest money it sure as hell isn't going to be in games because that is chump change compared to other true investments like in a business, stocks, etc.... That isn't to say I want my sealed stuff to go down in price. Who the hell wants something to go down in value. ;)

Yeah, what Spanky said, everybody has different taste. Don't hate on the guys hobby if it's not your forte don't put his stuff down. I have way too many games that I don't even play but you know what, I enjoy collecting them.

One it probably isn't, and two there's no gain if you had to buy 2 copies each time. The amount of sealed collectors is small and they're the only ones who might pay a price even close to what you expect. It's only worth what someone will pay. In these days of remakes, greatest hits, and emulators you're not keeping anyone from a copy. It's better to have bought one copy, enjoyed it, and kept it mint for the next person. Sorry but you lose on this one.

one, lol.

and two is just LMAO(for finding a way to make yourself win, when i double win that way, lol)

Wow Ven. I have to quote this, as it really is a collection to try and live up to. There are some things I didn't even know existed inside of it. Well done mate, well done. :applause:

As for the conversation on keeping sealed games, I have to say that overall it is worth it to keep some that way if you really love the game. Not many think of it, but there is the phenomenon known as disc-rot that gets at all discs eventually. Yes, even if they're sealed, but it will take much more time when kept away from air and moisture and whatnot. If my first copy goes belly up, and they cost a fortune in the future, I am happy to have a fresh copy on hand.
