Alright. Here's the deal: grab your digital camera and take some snapshots of what your gaming area looks like....hopefully we get a bunch of people to do this, but I could see me being the only one and end up getting heckled. Oh well.
The Sitting Area
OK, this is the chair I sit in. I've had it for years. Actuallly, I don't really sit in it that often. It's really not that comfortable; usually, I just sprawl out on the floor and rest on some pillows.
The Gaming Screen
This is my TV. Pretty crappy one. I have that $20 Altec Lansing Speaker Set hooked up. Works a hell of a lot better than I thought it would for that price. Really changes your gaming experience when there's a whole new dimension added to the sound. (I couldn't imagine what it would sound like on high-end audio equipment...) Anyway, this is my gaming TV.
The TV Screen
This is TV numero 2. No, I'm not obsessed with games. I do, however, have two TVs in my room. You'd probably think I'd game like 12 hours a day, but that's just not the case. I probably play games for 1 to 2 hours a day. (Although I do occassionally fiend on a game, such as when I get into a really good RPG, or get hooked on playing Halo online!) This TV is what I watch my sports on, usually. It's great having two TVs. During loading times, you watch TV. During commercials, you play games. I usually do both at the same time, though.
The Consoles and Games
And there are my systems. Yeah, the shelves are a little bare, but I'll fill them up in due time. I've got all 3 next-gen systems, plus a Dreamcast; can you count that thing as next-gen? Anyway, the reason that's out is because I play emulators over it. Call me a pirate or whatever, but that's what I use to play my NES and Master System games over. I still do buy old console games. (I just bought a Genesis today for $5 from a Thrift Store, as a matter-of-fact...)
You can also see, to the right, my game shelf. Not sure how many next-gen games I actually have. But, trust me, since I got a job and started coming to CAG, the number has sky-rocketed. I kinda collect games. I'd say I'm more of a game collecter than an actual gamer...
And then to the left is the $10 shelf I bought from - * GASP * - KMart. Cute little thing. I got my system swapper on there, as well as my CD Spindle Plastic Cover (which doubles has a memory card holder). And then the bottom thing is filled with my surge protector, which is covered up by my GameDocter in the picture...
So, what do you guys think of my setup? I'd love to see anyone else's. I find mine very spacious, and a hell of a lot of fun.
Note - Protected by Brink's Flame Shield. Anyone who thinks that having two TVs in one room is totally superficial, and fails to recognize the fact that having two TVs does not translate to obsession. Any and all flames are hereby declared illegal by the Supreme Court.
