Alright. Here's the deal: grab your digital camera and take some snapshots of what your gaming area looks like....hopefully we get a bunch of people to do this, but I could see me being the only one and end up getting heckled. Oh well.

The Sitting Area

OK, this is the chair I sit in. I've had it for years. Actuallly, I don't really sit in it that often. It's really not that comfortable; usually, I just sprawl out on the floor and rest on some pillows.

The Gaming Screen

This is my TV. Pretty crappy one. I have that $20 Altec Lansing Speaker Set hooked up. Works a hell of a lot better than I thought it would for that price. Really changes your gaming experience when there's a whole new dimension added to the sound. (I couldn't imagine what it would sound like on high-end audio equipment...) Anyway, this is my gaming TV.

The TV Screen

This is TV numero 2. No, I'm not obsessed with games. I do, however, have two TVs in my room. You'd probably think I'd game like 12 hours a day, but that's just not the case. I probably play games for 1 to 2 hours a day. (Although I do occassionally fiend on a game, such as when I get into a really good RPG, or get hooked on playing Halo online!) This TV is what I watch my sports on, usually. It's great having two TVs. During loading times, you watch TV. During commercials, you play games. I usually do both at the same time, though.

The Consoles and Games

And there are my systems. Yeah, the shelves are a little bare, but I'll fill them up in due time. I've got all 3 next-gen systems, plus a Dreamcast; can you count that thing as next-gen? Anyway, the reason that's out is because I play emulators over it. Call me a pirate or whatever, but that's what I use to play my NES and Master System games over. I still do buy old console games. (I just bought a Genesis today for $5 from a Thrift Store, as a matter-of-fact...)

You can also see, to the right, my game shelf. Not sure how many next-gen games I actually have. But, trust me, since I got a job and started coming to CAG, the number has sky-rocketed. I kinda collect games. I'd say I'm more of a game collecter than an actual gamer...

And then to the left is the $10 shelf I bought from - * GASP * - KMart. Cute little thing. I got my system swapper on there, as well as my CD Spindle Plastic Cover (which doubles has a memory card holder). And then the bottom thing is filled with my surge protector, which is covered up by my GameDocter in the picture...

So, what do you guys think of my setup? I'd love to see anyone else's. I find mine very spacious, and a hell of a lot of fun.

Note - Protected by Brink's Flame Shield. Anyone who thinks that having two TVs in one room is totally superficial, and fails to recognize the fact that having two TVs does not translate to obsession. Any and all flames are hereby declared illegal by the Supreme Court.

Ive got 2 tvs in my room too. And i do the same thing. Watch TV and play games, or if a friend is over we can both be playing different games at the same time.

your setup is sweet; much sweeter than mine. though, my tv is named PANDA and I do have a voltage converter and it does occasionally brown out the power in my house. Most of my tv stations are in French and German (thank god german people understand english and aren't language snobs, simpsons in english is the bomb), but at least Cartoon Network is in English. No Comedy Central, but the internet provides for my Daily Show fix. Its also all sitting on the floor (tv, ps2, xbox, gc) cause I'm a fucking lazy cheapass and won't go buy a tv cart.

2 TV's? Lightweights - I got 3 one for games, one for movies, one for tv. If I'm playing something not too cinematic I turn the TV on to the 24/7 news channels with the sound off...

Thank God you labled those pics! I was trying to figure out what the hell that box was with the guy's picture in it, but now I see...it's a TV!!!! :p

Heh - nice setup. The emergency food supply (i.e. the Dorito corners next to the gloves) is a smart idea! More gaming, less moving :)

I used to play games exclusively on the ground. I couldn't stand to sit in a chair, on a bed, or anything. Now I can't stand being on the ground and demand a comfortable couch or chair. Plus, I'm so blind that I need to be like 4 feet from the TV or I can't read any text so whenever I play, I pull my couch up to the TV. Curse my eyes.

That is sweet - I'm in a tiny ass appartment/dorm and I barely have room for one 27 inch TV and my systems - I had to sell my DC to make room for my PS2 ( =( I kinda miss that thing) on my tv stand with the Xbox. I long for escape from my 10' by 10' cell and I'm insanely jealous with your nice setup (esp. speakers - those look good).

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera (yet), so I'll just have to describe my gaming set-up.

27 inch TV
1,000 watt Koss DVD/Home Theatre System (Dolby Digital, 6.1, Pro Logic 2, the works)
Xbox (Dolby 5.1 rules in Halo 2)
Gamecube
Dreamcast
SNES

I also have a PSX, N64, and a VCR, but at the moment they are not hooked up.

Nice set up, however I don't really like the systems on a shelf )of course I have kids and that would be a disaster waiting to happen.

usually have my GC out in the lower family room, not bedroom and I have a 32 inch out here. Then in my room I have my DC hooked up to a 19 inch with a recliner and I also have a 20 inch in my room.

XD. Yeah, but cousin stayed over like a week ago, he brought his own TV, too. So we had three in my room. Consoles on two of them, and then a third to watch TV. We bought a big pack of chips. Frantically grabbing chips out of a bag during a system linked match of slayer leads to some of them spilling. I'm usually too lazy to clean my room, so...needless to say, they stay put. I kinda wish I woulda cleaned it up a little bit. Looks ugly with the controllers hanging down and crap!

I don't really have a setup at the moment, so I can't really share mine. Once I finish my basement though, I'll post some pics. That might be a couple years though. Hopefully CAG will still be going strong!

no pics,
Xbox (in FR)
51" Hitachi HDTV
Athena surround speakers
700 Watt Kenwood 6.1 DD/DTS Receiver
Dual recliner sofa
Just got Halo 2...now for the 3-day weekend

Gamecube & dreamcast in LR with 27" TV

I've been using a projector (Epson S1+) since early summer. Here is a picture from when I first set it up in my room at home. Note that the lights are on in the picture only to show the scale of the image. I play with the light off for better picture, of course. At school, it is a bit bigger (132" diagonal) because my room there is a bit deeper. It took a few hours to remember to look at my health/ammo/radar/etc. in the corners of the screen, but now I have no trouble.

My Xbox, Cube, and DVD player all output component video (prog scan) into coverter cables that connect to a VGA switchbox. The switchbox sends out the selected signal through a 25' VGA cable to the projector at the back of the room.

For sound I'm running a home-theater-in-a-box Sony 5.1 Dolby Digital & PLII/DTS 480W setup. I'm really not a volume or clarity junky, but I love 5.1.

I sit in a papasan chair (big cat bed thing) from Pier 1 (new Xmas gift). I've tried the fabulous AK Rocker (ak.com) in the past, but I'm about 2 inches too tall for it.

I keep my games in one of those hanging shoe organizers from Wal-Mart.

Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with how things turned out. I managed to keep the total project budget (projector+sound system+cables+prog. scan console add-ons) under $1300. That pretty much ate up my summer savings, but I don't regret it at all.

Here is how my setup is

Xbox, PS2, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, and 5-Disc Panasonic DVD Player on cheap ass glass table and end table that came with a piece of crap metal futon.

All of these are hooked up to one 20 inch screen tv. :p

Also, have to state that I had even more systems. I also use to have a NES, Dreamcast, and N64 hooked up too. Had to get rid of these to make room for the next generation consoles.
so say the pics are in my pictures they wouldnt have there own link would they?
No, they wouldn't, so you need to host them somewhere. I'm pretty sure you could upload them to your album on CAG and use that as a link. If not, then you could just tell us to look at your album.

That doesn't work anymore.

Yes it does, you just can't
them anymore, but you can still do it the budget way:
