Halo 2, while a great game, is FILLED with jerkoffs whose goal it is to ruin your enjoyment of the game. Here's the thread where you can bitch about your favorite annoying personas. I'll start it off :

1) Hey guy who goes "WHOA I GOT A DOUBLE KILL! HAHA YOU GUYS SUCK!" when you have a Rocket Launcher - you're not special. YOU HAVE A FRIGGIN ROCKET LAUNCHER. You get a double kill with a plasma pistol and needler? Good work. You get one with a Rocket Launcher or Sword? Expected. Stop f*cking bragging about it.

2) Hey idiot who got put on my team in Big Team Battle and won't shut the hell up - SHUT UP. We're your teammates. No, we don't know each other, but instead of annoying ME, your partner, by singing and yelling "n*gger" every 10 seconds, you COULD do what you're supposed to and annoy the OTHER team by kicking their ass in the game. Interesting concept, I know...

3) Hey kid who hasn't hit puberty yet - don't talk. Look, I'm sorry to say this, but when you hear a high pitched 12 year old voice go "hey guys listen to me, here's what we have to do!" everyone basically ignores it and laughs. You aren't becoming the leader until you sprout a chest hair or two, bud.

4) Hey jerk who goes "leave me the sniper rifle!" - shut up. Go for the sniper rifle. If you don't get it, tough crap. Get another weapon. A truly skilled Halo player is dangerous with multiple weapons, and can do more things than stay on top of the safety of the base and pick people off. Learn to play the game.

Well, any others you want to ad besides "jerkoffs who start Halo threads bitching about certain types of players"? :)

And in keeping with the title of the thread - my most annoying H2 experience was playing with this frickin guy in Team Skirmish who would grab the enemy flag, get 2 steps away from scoring, and jump off the end of a ledge. The whole rest of the game he decided it'd be fun to betray the rest of his team. So basically we had to boot him. The entire time the guy is singing the theme song to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and just being a real annoying piece of shit.

General Halo 2 annoyance? The SP and the ending. What a waste.

As far as Live goes, I don't play it anymore. Too many annoying people like you just mentioned. Lots of little kids too that say whatever they want however inappropriate.

That's why I don't play unless my group of friends are on. Its really a lot more fun playing custom games anyhow.

The most annoying thing for me?...

Cheaters.

I can handle the people who talk all sorts of dumb things because I know it's just somebody trying to make fun of me or act cool over the internet...Which sounds extremely sorry on their part, so I let it slide.

Most annoying? I have had several people quit with like 30 secs left. That hangs the whole thing up. Why they couldn't wait 30 more seconds is beyond me.

bomb squatters. you know, the ones who send you into hours of overtime by hiding in the zanzibar sea with the bomb after the clock has timed out just because they got whomped.

a team slayer match last night on coagulation, the other team was getting their asses kicked, so they just started fucking around, driving the warthog up to our guys and saying "get in the gunner seat" and of course we just blew them the hell up, 50-12 or some crap.. in the post-game lobby, they're all making fun of us cause we "take the game too seriously" and "we're losers"

It's soo cool to be an ass over the internet.. and I don't mind annoying people, because they're almost never good players, so they get destroyed, i don't need to say anything, except "scoreboard"

My most annoying experience is not being able to play anymore. My apartment building has free internet but apparently Live hogs all the bandwidth when I'm on it. My landlord and the other tenants don't really like that too much.

I had a guy the other night who wanted the sniper rifle. I got to it first and took it. Things are going pretty good while I'm sniping, then all of the sudden someone betrays me by running me over with a Warthog. I think it's an accident and just blow it off. Someone runs me over AGAIN. It was the asshole who wanted the sniper rifle. PLUS the whole team is pretty much cheering him on. So I focus on getting the rocket launcher. With about 1:30 left we're tied with the other team 1-1 in capture the flag. I tell my so called teammates that I'll guard our flag with the rocket launcher so they can all storm the other base to capture the other flag. They all leave and I let the other team take our flag and just as they do our guys show up to score and win with very little time left and just as they pull into the basement I launched a couple of rockets up their ass and we end up tying. Somehow the other team didn't score so we'd lose, that would have been super sweet.
Next game guess who's on my team again. Same asshole (name was something like "sniperdaddy" or something like that), he takes the sniper rifle, I take the Banshee, kill him and take his sniper rifle. So I spent the next 5 or so minutes just shooting at him and killing him every once in awhile as he respawned.
People need to realize that they don't OWN the weapons in the game. Man I was a super asshole that night wasn't I?? I just got fed up with all the whining about weapons, racial slurs, and all the other bullshit some idiots do on there. I just want to play the game and have fun and I guess I got to give someone a taste of their own medicine.

What's your Gamertag?

Does anyone know why sometimes you can't boot someone who betrays you?? Is it something in the game set-up??

I'm not really comfortable giving out my gamertag on here yet. I don't want people fucking with me. I'm finally just now getting the guts to post on here.
I'm not really comfortable giving out my gamertag on here yet. I don't want people shaq-fuing with me. I'm finally just now getting the guts to post on here.
Christ man, grow the fuck up! I don't mean to be rude, but it's not your address or name or social security numbers. It a fucking gamertag. Geez.

Here's some more.

The "I KILLED THE GUY WITH THE SWORD!" jackass. The sword is a great weapon, but it doesn't make you unbeatable. It really bugs me when a kid goes crazy over killing the guy with the sword as though he just beat the game on Legendary or something.

The bomb guy who doesn't listen to his team and just goes his own way. Look bomb guy, its important to follow the people who actually, yknow, have weapons drawn. When you decide to go take off on your own route chances are you're going to get put down fast. Its common sense that apparently 90% of the people on XBL don't have.

The guy who laughs and talks shit when he steals your vehicle. Everyone has boarded a vehicle and taken it. Its nothing special. Its part of the game. But some assholes love acting like king-dingaling just because they managed to snatch your shit. I love getting these guys down to no shields, letting them take my vehicle, and then killing them with one simple shot to the skull. Its so satisfying to go "NOW TALK SHIT JACKASS. AND DONT EVER TRY TO TAKE MY GHOST AGAIN."

The guy who breathes into his headset. Look guy, if the headset is either stuck up your nose or is inside of your mouth, we're going to hear static. Its quite alright for you to move the mic a few inches from your mouth - we'll still be able to hear you.

If you don't mean to be rude, then don't be. I'm sorry, but I'm new to posting things online in a forum and I'm just not comfortable yet. Amazing how that bothered you so much?!
You proved my point too by the way, about why I don't want to post my gamertag.

Explain to me why you don't want to give out your gamertag?...I'm just a bit confused because it isn't very big deal.

Oh, that was me, sorry.

and I also, "Ended the killing spree!!!! w00t, w00t!!!"

Far from being the best Halo 2 player, I just try to have fun. My personal best is 19 kills in a Slayer match -- good for ONLY 3rd place. #-o

Yeah exactly. I mean, unless you have serious social issues, I don't know why you would be afraid to give it out. I just ogt pissed cause it just sounded so strange.

It's just a personal thing I guess. One thing is I have students on here who check the posts and I don't want them to have my gamertag.

You guys give me yours and I'll join up with you online then you'll know it. Is that cool??

Ah, makes a bit more sense now...I still don't think they could do anything with your GT even if they did have it, but I guess it works for you.

maybe his social security # is his tag...

I just don't like the people that talk trash when your playing a video game. It's very pointless, and annoying.

What I find annoying is the total and complete lack of sportsmanship in some people. I fly off the handle sometimes, and emotions usually run high during games, but some people just go out of their way to prove that they can't handle winning or losing.

For instance, if you aren't performing as well as they are, you're a noob who needs to learn how to play the game. If you're winning, you're a loser who has devoted his earthly being to the game, while they spend their weekends in Aspen sipping cognac in front of warm fires or something.

Like the OP said, you have folks who brag and boast about their ONE MEASLY ROCKET KILL.

"OMG! Did you see that?! He totally died when I shot him with a ballistic explosive!"

His team can't hear him, because your teammate has already given him the happy meal, but that won't stop him from bragging to the audience that can't hear him/doesn't give a shit to begin with.

But as frustrating as the whole experience can be, killing these people makes me feel so much better after a rough session. They are a necessary evil. They exist so you have something to fight against. Something that leaves you with a feeling of satisfaction and justice after a win.

Whether we'd like to admit it or not, we need these people.

When I get a double kill or greater I'll be like "Triple kill...I do this all the time"

Man, people get so mad over that. Priceless.

The most annoying thing for me are the Monday Morning Quarterback players...If someone can come up with an online equivalent post it.

Most of their communication consists of..." why didn't you do this or that", "man you should have done this or that when that guy was running with the flag", "i would have..."

Maybe their attention would have contributed to the team effort if it was directed to their gameplay and not mine or someone elses. Hindsight is 20/20, unfortunately it's not always so clear during gameplay.

Luckily with impoved use of the radar this doesn't happen as much to me anymore. When I first went online, my dumbass would run around like an idiot trying to find that damn red dot bogey on my radar. Now it just annoys me with all the Professor Master Chief's out there that seem to know exactly what should have been done in every situtuation to achieve victory.

I disagree with some of the stuff you say. I mean a 12 year old kid can be a leader of a team too. SO what hes only 12, if he knows how to play halo good then he can be a leader of any party. And if you dont believe me try playing Murc hes only 14 and he's a pretty good leader.

I'm not saying they CAN'T be leaders, my point is that whenever people hear that little squeaky pre-pubescent voice they usually laugh instead of paying attention to what he's saying. If you haven't hit puberty yet you're better off turning on voice masking.

Or playing a game that's not rated M. I agree, the high pitched voices get annoying after 5 minutes or so.

Can't say I've had too many annoying Halo experinces. I don't have XBL, so I always just play with my friends, and its a good time just to hang out.

There are a lot of things that annoy me while playing Halo 2.

For starters, I hate cheaters. I mean honestly, what's the point? You were more successful than me because you uesd an unfair advantage. Is that an accomplishment? I'm guessing some do it to boost their ratings, but...

I hate people who care about their rankings. I mean, really, though. People who care about their level are usually too uptight. They just worry about winning and forget about the most important thing -- having fun. OK, so I care about my level...but not to the point where I let it interfere with me having fun. And besides, so many people out there cheat to get high levels anyway, so it's not like your level is necessarily reflective of your "talents."

I hate the Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle Combo. And by "Plasma Pistol" I'm referring to the green Covenant weapon you charge up. The combo sucks. The thing I've always loved about Halo is how much balance their is in everything. It's like rock-paper-sissors, only on a bigger level. Everything has it's weakness. Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle seems way overpowered, and it just pisses me off.

I Hate People who are Cocky. Trash talking every once in a while is OK. Every once in a while I'll do sometihng that puts a grin on my face and I'll leave a little message while I'm standing over someone's dead body. (Like, say I anticipate someone's move, make a difficulty "super" jump and then finish it off with a melee...) But people who cock off the whole round just piss me off. Like that Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle combo? I had a group of guys who, every time they killed me, would say, "Oh, I just dirty combo'd that guy!" Other times they'd say, "Dirty combo, dirty combo!"

Also, a friend and I had this 2 vs. 2 game on Slayer. The guys we were playing made me irate. One of the two we were playing was going, "Oh, damn, you guys suck!" The score was like 25 to 23...(first to 50). He made it sound like they were just crushing us when really it was pretty close the whole game. He also chimed in with stuff like, "I'm on the phone with the telephone company paying my bill and we're still kicking your ass!" Oh, and they also had the nerve to end the game with the score 37 to 30 (them being up). They go, "Oh, we don't have time to play losers like you, we need a challenge." Those guys pissed me off to no end.

I Hate being Interfered With. You're fighting one on one and some jackass comes and picks up two easy kills. You're about to take out a bothersome sniper, and then a Ghost comes and mows you down. I realize that Halo is a team-based game, but when I get killed in the midst of another fight, I get mad.

I Hate Everything Outside of Slayer. Not really sure why. The first Halo captivated me with Capture the Flag and Slayer. "Classic" CTF isn't played very often. I absolutely despise assualt. The games are so time-consuming and they bore me. Big team I also hate. There's always lag (be it me or someone else) when I play. I just like to stick to slayer and CTF Classic. So really, it's just slayer.

I really don't know why I play Halo. Actually, since MVP came out, I haven't really played it at all. (And MVP I haven't really played much either, because I'm waiting for rosters.) I get so many headaches playing the game, that it often times seems like it's just not worth playing. It can be great fun, especially with friends, but sometimes I do feel like snapping the game in half and never playing it again.

I agree. Tonight we had a fun clan match where they glitched us using the dummy glitch twice on CTF on Headlong. Well we also scored twice, but did it legit. And since we were red, we won automatically. It was great beating the team that was cheating.

I don't get why they care about their rankings either. You typically find it more in clan matches than you do in regular games, though.

I realize that Halo is a team-based game, but when I get killed in the midst of another fight, I get mad.

I can understand what you're saying, but honestly I think its good strategy if you see two people fighting to let them take out each other's shields and then move in for two quick kills. Doesn't mean I don't get annoyed by it when it happens to me, but at least I understand it.

Does anyone else get the random guys on their team whose mission seems to be to rack up as many suicides as possible before the end of the game? Yesterday, my roommate and I had a guy on our team that managed to accumulate a score of NEGATIVE 31!!! He seemed to just want to keep the cumulative score at zero the entirety of the game. Then again today we had another teammate who did the same thing. I don't understand the concept behind the "killing thyself" method of playing Halo. Anyone care to enlighten me?

the most annoying thing to me is carrying a game-grudge over 1 kill.

i'm not good at the game at all, and it's obvious, so maybe that's why these happen.

but it seems like 90 percent of the time i'm able to find somebody who is sniping, sneak up behind them, and bash their head in. it's probably the one thing i do well.

then they take it extremely personal, start calling me names, start screaming NO I WAS SNIPING THAT'S NOT FAIR I COULDN'T SEE YOU COMING and proceed to focus entirely upon me for the rest of the game.

i suppose it may be the method, and the fact that i'm obviously not very good, so they get embarassed and have to "show off" by killing the guy that sucks. still, it's really annoying and not very cool.

it has inspired the in-joke amongst my friends of running up behind someone and going 'ROCKET LAUNCHER TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD', since the first time i did it the only item i had was a rocket launcher with no shells.

I can't stand those people who you kill over and over again and then they finally find a rocket or sword and nail you one time and respond with "Man your ass got beat down, you suck"
