Your thoughts on Super Mario Sunshine

My only problem with the old school levels was when I couldn't see Mario due to the poor camera, but I couldn't move the camera because I was standing on a disintegrating block of sand. So if I try to move the camera I fall, but if I don't move it I have no idea where to jump.

Extremely annoying. Other than that I loved it.
Mario 64 is my favorite game of all time. Sunshine is a worthy follow-up and should be played by anyone who owns a Gamecube.
While it is not my favorite of all time or anything, I did play the shit out of it. Overall I'd say that I liked SM64 better (better camera, more level variety), but SM Sunshine was great too.

I think that with a series like Mario (or Zelda, Metroid, GTA, etc) you have to be willing to roll with the changes; yeah, some may not be as good as others, but variety is the only way a series can ever grow.

Like Zelda TWW, for example. Yeah, a lot of people were turned off by the whole "toon" thing, but I thought it was a good thing in that the developers weren't afrais to try a new angle on an established character (even though I still prefer OOT  )

3rd best.
1. sm64
2. smb 3
and then super mario sunshine this game kicks major a** spent so many hours playing when should of been sleeping.

Mario Sunshine was pretty cool for a 3D platformer, but it's just not Mario to me. A Mario game in 3D with voice-acting and cutscenes just feels wrong. And there was too much collecting considering I've heard getting all the shines does nothing. Though that water-pack was cool I wish they had used the spraying more. Cleaning graffiti has never been so fun. Still I'd prefer a 2D mario granted they could create one longer than the short SNES games.
