Mel= My wife
99 = the year we were married.
Eric + Mel + 99= Ericnmel99.

Since ive been married we both use the name for pretty much anything. It keeps things less complicated.
 
Much like Kaijufan's name -- mine is japanese for "giant monster" (i.e. Godzilla,Gamera,etc etc) - I use this and often the variant Kaijuguy (my Xbox live name even) as my initial forays onto the net many years ago often were related to finding info on obscure .jp monster flicks , selling or buying .jp monster related toys and merch and so on. Although I still am immersed heavily in this type of thing, my nickname just sort of spilled over into all my other fanatical hobbies as well. :D
 
Let me say I have really enjoyed reading the identities of the usernames.When I first started high school I use to use fwtpimpin03till as my aim name, email address, etc. It stood for football, wrestling, and track ( the 3 sports I played in high school for 4 years ), then pimpin till 03 was the year I would graduate. Then when I 1st registered for this site for some reason it did not let me use that name so I thought of my 2 favorite fighting (
 
I was a big Tolkien fan in H.S. and I started looking for obscure names throughout The Hobbit and LOTR and Girion just stuck in my head. Only mentioned in The Hobbit four times and I figured he wasnt some big popular hero guy so I'd be safe in using it and be recognized when I go to other places. ( He was the last ruler of Dale before Smaug burned it down).

Another name I found much later is Turin Turambar. Turin being his name and Turambar meaning "Master of One's Own Doom" I kinda wished I had used that instead.

My username dates back to when I was trying to think of a nickname for playing Halo over the LAN in college. My initials are WET, so I was thinking, "What goes with wet?" My roommate suggested "dream," but I declined and chose "ninja" instead because it was around the time that the ninja website was popular, and I thought it was funny. It turns out that, Halo aside, "ninja" has a videogame connection: in the mid-80's, when I started playing videogames, videogame plots often involved ninjas kidnapping the president.
 
i remember seeing the name in a book somewhere when i was trying to think of a cool name to use when playing games...my friend had come up with the name greylorn, and for some reason darkmere and greylorn sounded badass to us...so it stuck

well, my user name (swetooth9), is like that killer clown in my sig and avy (Sweet Tooth from the Twisted Metal series) cuz he's my fav video game character of all time :p

and the 9 is there cuz i walk around w/ my nine in case some bitchass annoys me, lol j/k..9 used to be my fav number, but now its 21...

Hmmm....Where could I have possibly found my name from....I think it was this game called Chrono Cross :wink:

But seriously, Karsh was always my favorite character in Chrono Cross, and probably one of my favorite characters period. I used the name in a couple other places, and it just stuck. So now I use it all the time. I used to use Ghaleon all the time, from the Lunar series, but too many people started using it, so I stopped.

Gomer is the nickname that was given to be back in my high school JROTC days since people had problems saying my last name (Gamache) and the 1andonly is added saying that I'm Gomer, the one and only.
 
The Owl from Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening was an all-knowing, Yoda-esque character who in the end was a Guardian Spirit. Hence "Guardian Owl" or as lazy typing like to call me "Gaurdian" Owl

J/K :) Actually, it's just a name I started using back when I was playing a lot of Age of Kings because I thought it sounded cool. Now I use it for all online forums and suchlike.

oh, my avatar has two "E's" since the character's actual name is "Sweet Tooth"

my sig has one "E" since my actual username is "swetooth9"

captain - added to the beginning for email purposes

captainfrizo - the finished result. It's my username for all the other boards I'm on along with email and instant messengers.

I always have such a hard time picking
screen names. It usually takes me hours to decide.
 
I'm just using my b/f's username, and he uses it for everything. Its something stupid he made up when he was younger.

Sadly, "Cata Pillar" and "Casa Nova" were my best 2 characters I played during my 4 year EQ stint. At the time, I needed a yahoo account and ended up just combining the two and it's stuck ever since.
 
Well, i was on my old AOL account and i saw somebody that had the name ElfAngel. I liked it and added my lucky #7. That's it.
 
My screen name come from Fei gear in Xenogears, (the best rpg game ever made) Weltall. Blue because thats the color he's really is. The game says he's black but the developers must be color blind.
 
I'm clumsy as hell, and bang my head on a bunch of stuff. So "Captain Inertia" is sort of an ironic nickname I gave myself. I think I first used it as a guild nickname in Ultima Online.

Actually it started cause Darke Katt liked the character of Darke Katt. So I decided to make my own character using Darke, and since I like wolves I just made it into Darke Wolfe.

It pretty much stuck and used it for RPGs or forums or AIM, Yahoo and so on, except sometimes Darke Wolfe is taken. If that is the case I just use D4rkewolfe...or really I use it online, so I don't have to remember which Handle it is Darke Wolfe or D4rkewolfe
 
mine's from clayfighter 63 and 1/3. The chinese karate guy had a taunt that sounded something like "zee crane, zee lion, zeemonkaaay" So I just took that.
 
Back in HS football, we were watching game films and my coach said I was one big ass corn fed white boy.. well the name sorta stuck.
 
Back about 9 years ago, my friends and I were very, very bored, so we decided to go online to chatrooms and annoy people. My friend came up with the name "Tromack" no clue, how or why, but I've used it ever since.
 
My username is one that I've used for years now, probably 8 to 10. Final Fantasy III/IV is probably my most favorite game ever. I originally started using it on a local BBS, Flying High. I needed to make up a username and I couldn't really think of one. At the time my Final Fantasy III guide was sitting nearby and it was open to a page with a picture of Kefka on it. Just added the Krazy with the k before it and KrazyKefka was born.
