You're in the Movies (360) $10 at Best Buy B&M after $10 off RZ coupon (until 5/17)

splintercell

CAGiversary!
Best Buy's free Gamers Club has an in-store coupon for $10 off a bunch of PC games as well as You're in the Movies for the Xbox 360. Since the game + Live Vision camera bundle retails for $20, this should take it down to $10.

Update 5/5: As several helpful folks have pointed out, the item seems to be currently on sale at BB for $9.99 even without the coupon, so if the coupon is also accepted it may end up being free, but YMMV on that.

Update 5/11: It looks like the temporary sale is now over, so it once again rings up at the full $19.99, and with the RZ coupon it comes down to $9.99. The free ride looks to be over.

This looks to be the link to check stock availability in stores (which seems pretty limited already, but the stock levels don't seem completely accurate): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...product&skuId=9112514&productId=1218024597755

The coupon is currently the fourth item in the Special Offers list under the Gamers Club section of the RZ site.

Direct link to coupon (probably have to signed into your RZ account): https://myrewardzone.bestbuy.com/viewDetails.jspx?tc=CPN_10

Coupon valid from 5/4 through 5/17.
So do these cameras work out of the box with Vista 64?
Mine did with Vista 32-bit. IIRC, Vista found the driver but then had to download an update of some sort. Or maybe I'm confusing that with the 360 controller :whistle2:|

edit: either way, it worked fine for me without any trouble.
I don't get the eye rolling at the sales associate when you came there KNOWING that the sale was a sale last week and not valid at this time.
B/c the associate looked at the marked price and assumed the customer couldn't read. It wasn't until he used the word "scan" that the associate offered to scan the item.

Agreed.. siberkat seems to be one of those douches that expects every retail worker to know everything about their organization.

Anyway.. my girl and I played some YitM yesterday. We didn't bother clearing out the background so the camera work wasn't perfect.. but we still had a lot of fun for the 10 or so minutes that we actually played with it.

My brother and I tried the game this past weekend....it blows big time. If the camera worked a bit better (i.e. was able to recognize you versus the background better) it would be a little more fun. Even if it was perfect, you do these dumb little mini games for what seems like a long time (granted they are fun the first few times) and then the resulting film is about 20 seconds long and they hardly use your footage at all.

We were left sitting there going, "all that work for that??". Oh well, can't beat free. At least I got the camera out of it.

Or maybe he expects employees to do something that is common across all retailers and doesn't require the employee to know anything: check the price?

I always just take the game upto a person near a kiosk and ask them to check the price (if they ask about just reading, i may comment to seeing 2 different price stickers for the same product) since sometimes bestbuy doesn't get everything tagged.

The price is on tagged onto the shelf. For most people, this is sufficient. You gotta realize that the site is for penny pinching shoppers, which are obviously the minority. The employee felt it acceptable to quote the price on the sticker, rightfully assuming that the shopper was either illiterate or had bad vision. If the shopper badly needed the game scanned he could have went to the cashier.
Why is this thread not in the Graveyard? All it's good for now is people arguing about irrelevant crap...

Shut it down.
Some people may be arguing, but the sale is still on. The game rings up for $19.99, and there's a $10 Off coupon available. I got the game for $9.99 + tax tonight.

So no, it doesn't make sense to shut this down.

except last week it was 9.99 in store and was free with the $10 off coupon available...

was at BB just today, the item appears to have "Delete" status now in inventories for stores. Kind employee informed me that this means they will have been removed from shelves, shipped to warehouse, and sold via website (where coupon is not valid).

Although, there were no copies in store inventories within 200 miles of Los Angeles as of Saturday or Sunday anyway.

Yes, that part of the deal is dead, but it is still on sale for $9.99 after coupon, at least for another week. That's still 50% off.

Well, I did not TRULY know that the sale was not still valid, until I tried. My "eye rolling" refers to the fact that the associate was a little condescending in regards to my questions. Since the game was marked $39.99 & we all know it is not $39.99 & I had to go back & forth with the associate, that is what made the experience: .
B/c the associate looked at the marked price and assumed the customer couldn't read. It wasn't until he used the word "scan" that the associate offered to scan the item.
Thanks progman3. :)

No. Siberkat just gets frustrated when HE knows more then the associates & when the associates give him a slightly hard time about doing there job. I was in retail for many years. If I was asked to check something, I did. Even if I was almost positive about the price, I did not just assume.

BTW, I am a "Kat", not a "douche".

It is funny that you say "illiterate or had bad vision". If you read my original post, I state: "I said I would just have the cashier scan them."

Don't understand all the "hate", dude. :???:

I think you got a raw deal in this thread, however, if you're going to refer to yourself in the third person, especially as an internet handle, you're a douche.:whistle2:#

Does that mean Mr. T & "Jimmy" from Seinfeld are douches as well?:whistle2:k

Why don't you go commit Seppuku or something.

I understood you from the beginning. Asking someone to check the price on something, and then having them read off the price on the tag like you are a moron, rather than actually checking, can be very annoying, especially if they give you attitude about it.

For the record. "Jimmy" from Seinfeld was a douche, yes, that was the whole point of the character. Mr. T is an exception to the rule, because talking about Mr. T is cool and negates "the douche effect".

And for the record, I don't think you're a douche. But it was funny. I'm off to fall on my sword (can't wait to see what jokes come out of that one from you witty fucks...):D

Also for the record, I have always enjoyed your posts. :) Hey, wait a sec, if you are going to listen to me about that, then send me $100.00 first, before you kill yourself!
