"homeslice" delightful.
I have read excerpts from the interviews of the detainees. The fact of the matter remains that what was described simply does not amount to abuse.
Nor is there any credible reason to believe that a Koran was flushed down the toilet.
But the bottom line is this: this thread was about Zarqawi being wounded.
None (well one of you after being berated for three posts) can bring himself to say this is good news, all you can do is complain about the US.
It speaks volumes about where your loyalties are.

Yeah, shame on us for expecting better out of a first world country that is talking the talk, but evidently not walking the walk in regards to human rights.
And then there's this:
I have read excerpts from the interviews of the detainees. The fact of the matter remains that what was described simply does not amount to abuse.
Really? The undeniable, objective, inherent nature of our relations with the detainees is that this is not abuse? How do you know? What makes you the expert? Are you muslim? Do you fully comprehend the significance of the Koran and its proper treatment? Tell me, how would you categorize this behavior by the United States if it is not abuse? Also, what is the clear line between whatever "this" is an abuse, then?

ing "facts." That word should be outlawed for those who improperly use it for subjective situations.
Consider the reverence and procedures you learn in the military regarding the United States flag; however, make the authority metaphysical and omnipotent (meaning the consequences of insubordination are much graver, and, er, long-lasting, than any government could apply) than the military authority. This is an overly simplistic view; the point being, we aren't taunting people with Cosmopolitan magazine. I'm sure plenty of your military friends would behave irrationally and suffer some psychological side effects if they saw the flag being similarly treated.
myke.
...what's with all the "you didn't say this, so you suck" arguments? I haven't seen you say anything about the Downing Street Memo, which proved that the reasons for war in Iraq were actively fabricated well before a reason was given to the public for going in there; does your silence on this document make you complicit of anything, or are you just a simple-minded conservative lapdog?
