ZUNE and your X360 - ZUNE HD Now in 64GB - Latest Update Now Supports AVI/XviD

I just hope Zune 2 has a 160 GB version, much longer battery life, and easier software. The sound quality and interface are fantastic already.

Ill probably stick with my Zune for a bit before upgrading to the Zune 2, ive got a 2 year plan at Best Buy so i can always say it's broken and get a gift card for the value. I hope they do some upgrades in the 'community' department, a browser or instant messenger would be a nice addition.

Off topic, the touch ipod looks really nice, the only thing that would keep me from buying it beside the price is that it only does 16gb. Ah well, i'm more than happy with my Zune, touch screen isn't the greatest thing (smudges all over the screen, blech)

Wow. So Zune 2 comes out moments after the Halo 3 special edition? Now it's even more pathetic to get the Halo 3 edition.

How's the DRM on the Zune? Apple shoving iTunes down my throat is the reason I've never gotten an iPod. I'll be in the market for a new MP3 player, so just curious as to how people like their Zunes currently.
My main reason why i don't have a zune yet is due to me waiting for the next zune model.
+1

Oh, wow, I have been wanting a Zune, but $250 was always way too much for me. Now that it is $200, and the white being even cheaper, I may consider one now. I will wait to know about the Zune 2 and Zune flash, but the only way I would get the Zune 2 if it supports games, while the regular Zune doesn't. And considering an iPod Nano is like $200 for like 4 GB, I wonder how much the Zune flash will cost, as that will be my second option if I don't get a regular Zune.

I never shopped from the Zune marketplace. Every song I have on mine was either downloaded through P2P or downloaded from CD. Never had problems with it. Its also pretty easy to find good movies if you know where to look for. I got The Simpsons DVD Screener, Bourne Ultimatum pretty much a week after release.

Probably already answered but is there any chance that the zune 2 will support xvid and divx? Especially now in light that the media center does.

Nothing to the effect is known yet, the pictures I posted are a rumor until MS proves otherwise. I'm sure they are bound to announce something pretty soon, considering that Apple just made the annual announcement.

I have a 60GB Toshiba Gigabeat now, and it's filled to the brim...everytime I add a new album, I have to delete something I don't like as much. I would definitely score a 80GB Zune...I hope that bit of the rumor is true!
Meh. Unless they get rid of chaining you to the software it comes with, I'll pass. I hate having to install the company's software to add files. A MP3 player should have drag and drop functionality.

I'll stick with my Clix 2: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/2007/08/iriver-clix2-review.php

Best MP3 player I've owned.
Thats my problem with the Sandisk Sansa. That and the hideously slow fast forward and rewind.
Hopefully an announcement this weekend? Think it could happen?
Sure it could...they have to keep up with IPOD and their new products.

You know, you can put your own music on an iPod. You don't have to buy a single song from the iTunes store. And, by the way, the DRM on Apple's stuff is much less stringent than the DRM on any other store.

I traded with another CAG for a Zune a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it overall!

I have probably close to 150 albums on it and 7 full length movies and 150 pictures and the drive isn't even half full yet. The sound is great and the the screen is great for movies. I also love the ease of compatability with the 360.

My only gripe to this point is the software interface. From what I can tell, I have to keep anything that's in my Zune on my computer as well or it won't sync. Is this correct? That kind of sucks....Wish I could put stuff on the Zune then delete it on my computer. Also, I have occasional sync issues where an album will split itself and some songs will show up in two seperate syncs on the Zune. Small gripes overall, so I'd definitely suggest it at the new lowered price....

i want a zune, but the zune software is such crap. Plus, transfering 80+ gigs from itunes to zune would be such a pain in the ass

The only updates ive heard is that theres a Blue Zune coming out and limited edition "Stylized" zunes as well. There was a Pricing list Leaked on zune 2 accessories but other than that nothing. Also The Headphones that come with the zune 2 are shown to be High Quality nose canceling headphones with nylon thread wire or something...so yeah. I Think we wont see a zune 2 until maybe Thanksgiving or Christmas and if not Maybe we'll see a zune phone by christmas.

Why get a 30 gig Zune at $199 when you can get an 80 gig iPod for $249? I have yet to see a single compelling reason to get a Zune. Am I missing something?

Well, I was offered one in trade, so that's why I initially got it. I guess if someone had offered an ipod, I'd probably be enjoying that right now. 30 GB is way more than I need right now anyway, so 80 gigs would basically be a waste for me. I haven't had a chance to see an ipod video in action, so I really can't compare, but I'm definitely happy with the Zune.

This is Microsoft's dilemma, there is absolutely no reason to buy a Zune right now. I mean almost everything in it is inferior to other products(apple, creative and so on).

I have a Zune and I love it, but I can't recommend one to someone. There are simply better products out there.

Well, there's always the chance that people will like the design of the Zune better than anything else, and pick it based on that. That's why my girlfriend wants one, for instance; she loves the brown and green one.

I'm glad I made the right decision and got the iPod Classic in black, the software and interface of the Zune just turns me away from it, plus I would have to convert all my music to WMA, forget that

I do love my Zune, but there's still so many things that confuse the hell out of me. The Zune Marketplace, well, sucks. There really isn't that much of a selection. Also, the Zune has a really awesome widescreen...so..where are the video downloads...??? I mean the Zune has been out almost a year now (or has it been a year already?!) and we still don't have a Zune Video Marketplace? The funny part is, we have an Xbox360 Video Marketplace. But on the 360, we don't have a music Marketplace? I mean, what's the difference? The 360 is also meant to be used for media and you can log into the 360 Marketplace & Zune Marketplace with the same account and use the same points...but you can't download videos for your Zune & music for your 360..?

I mean, if ANYTHING, why can't we upload videos from our 360 to our Zune?!

I love the product, but once they can address these issues...I probably won't upgrade until then. I mean the perfect Zune would work on your PC & 360 and be able to upload & download to and from your 360 without any problems. (Putting music on your 360 or putting videos on your PC)

It's a shame, because I really do love my Zune. :(

Less than a month til the Zune 2. I hope it has some good features. I got a 2 year warranty at Best Buy, so i think im gonna just say mine broke so i can get a gift card for the value to use it on the Zune 2.

I would love to see some kind of messaging system, though i guess it would be a bit annoying to type with. The community feature is semi lacking. A crack for the 3x3 would be nice too.

That is kinda Stupid...I think it has something to do with how to manage Media through the 360, Maybe something to do with DRM and copyright laws. Although if Microsoft offered that kind of Connectivity they would sell alot more products and gain ahead against Apple's insane popularity.

But M-Soft dont like things to be that easy, Especially the marketplace its nice after a while but then it gets old. and the constant glitching has got to be fixed.

Hopefully ( I doubt it) the zune 2 comes with its own upgraded software, and not the same one packaged with the Zune (Classic or diet?).

Ive also heard that some 80gig versions of the Ipod have Horrible sound quality, Will the Zune 2 have the same problem?

My 80GB iPod sounds pretty good actually...just not as good as my old iriver H320 which died. Luckily, I had a BB replacement plan, and I ended up with a gift card, but the only choice over 30GB was the iPod...I like how the thing navigates and such, but I hate iTunes with a passion. Plus I hate the way it handles, say, a soundtrack or compilation, because it puts every single friggin artist in the list. I much preferred the folder structure of the iRiver...

For you guys with a Zune and looking for Video downloads, I strongly recommend going to Zuneboards.com, register for their forum and the video section will open up, there's tons of movie/tv/music video downloads and its free.

That's not the point, though, but thank you! I have other means of putting video on my Zune. It should be there and available FROM the Zune Marketplace to begin with, or be able to transfer stuff from the Video Marketplace on the 360 to your Zune.

I know what you mean...but I just threw it out there, they seriously have movies before they release on DVD and sometimes even movie theaters.

dude that's a sweet site. however i bite and got an ipod a few months back. are there any boards/sites that offer videos for ipods like that?

I doubt it will come to Canada, so I'll stick with my soon to arrive Ipod Touch. I only have about 1500 songs anyway, and it holds 3750, so by the time I reach that many, the Ipod Touch will be worth approximately 2 cents.

No clue...I don't like iPods. I tried the converters from Zune ready format to iPod with my sisters iPod video and it lost a ton of quality. Totally not worth it.

Wireless syncing? I really help the firware update for the orignal Zune adds that in, and the podcasts, so I automatically get the CAGcast
