Bf:BC is the game I hands-down, logged the most time-on this console generation so it does irk me when I see regenerative health and they cut 1 class from multiplayer. I kind of expected the Frostbite engine to be more optimized with their ample experience with Bf:BC, Mirror's Edge, and Bf:'43 to at least add 8 more players in the mix for a total of 32 (desperately needed for Conquest), especially with the Blackhawks playable this time. I'm not the guy that says regenerative health is dumbing things down, but I just don't think it'll be Battlefield with regenerative health since it relied heavily on Health Kits (at least reviving people is back... I guess).

I need more convincing from DICE, Bf:BC2 is not a day one buy.

This is what I wanted to see for classes.
Assault
\ Assault Rifle
-\ Fragmentation Grenade x5 or M203 Grenade Launcher x8
--\ Grappling Hook Launcher x2
---\ Auto Injector xINFINITE

Specialist
\ Submachine Gun
-\ Smoke Grenade x3
--\ Satchel Charge x5
---\ Tracer Dot x10

Support
\ Light Machine Gun
-\ Repair Drill xINFINITE
--\ Mortar Strike xINFINITE
---\ Ammo Pack xINFINITE

Medic
\ Assault Rifle
-\ Sidearm
--\ Shock Paddles xINFINITE
---\ Health Pack xINFINITE

Demolition
\ Shotgun
-\ Sidearm
--\ Mine x5
---\ Rocket Launcher x6

Recon
\ Sniper Rifle
-\ Sidearm
--\ Motion Sensor x3 or Claymore x2
---\ JDAM Binocular xINFINITE

Ugh, I can't say I'm excited for these changes, but I'm still too excited for this game not to buy it day one. I have to question the class changes (it essentially sounds like they took out two classes (Demolition and Specialist) and split the support class into two different ones), especially since the medic class seems unnecessary with regenerative health. And I loved the story of the first game because it was so hilarious, so I'm not too excited to hear it's more serious this time around (but at least Bad Company is still around).

I was also hoping for a raise in the player count for multi, but even if they just add support for private matches (the squad system is pretty lame, honestly) it'll be better in the long run. But even with how negative I may be sounding in this post, I'm still super excited for this game. BF:BC is my favorite game from this gen, so I can't help but be excited for the sequel.

Here's off-screen gameplay from multiplayer (2nd video down): http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=158363

I'm done crying over the regenerative health, though I sincerely hope DICE reconsiders upping the player count to 32, Conquest maps really need that extra 8.

Video reveals a lot from minor details like how sprinting now shows the gun jostling. If that's a UMP (looks like one) then that means they didn't half-ass the iron sights for them this time, yeah! Though I wonder how balanced it'll be once classes get a wider selection of weapons since I've been conditioned with the large Bf:BC hours logged that each class should be limited to a single firearm family. Looks like no more red dots over enemies, but maybe that's due to the over-exposed quality of the video. Overall, HUD looks cleaner with no more eye-throbbing red overlay for when you're low on health, just shaded corners. As far as the Kill Cam is concerned, they should just make it so when you flop to the ground, waiting to be revived, the camera pans to your killer's general direction instead of seeing where he's hiding/running to.

hopefully they actually do include more than one game-type this time, dont get me wrong, I think gold rush is fun, but I wish they would have included more modes in the first one.

just played through the first one and I'm disappointed to hear that they are making the campaign more serious, it was an excellent change of pace (from COD or other serious FPS titles) and made the game much more enjoyable in my opinion.

Not really a demo, more of a montage of the one map they're letting people play at E3 which is fine by me since it shows someone competent playing and a lot of revealing gameplay - ie gun attachments (2 different scopes), micro and macro destruction, brutal stab animation, and new vehicles.

@3:50
Here's a weird APC; the driver can shoot grenade launchers and the gunner can control an anti-air attachment.

@4:30
Shouldn't need this Med Pack since they put in regenerative health.

Not that I don't like the MP stuff, but I wish they'd release a SP trailer already. I'm definitely curious to learn more about the story.

LE announced! Same price as the regular edition and sounds like the only difference is 6 unlocks from the start in mp.

Taken from http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/61056

Four vehicle warfare unlocks
 • Improved Vehicle Armor - An up-armor package is mounted on all vehicle types, decreasing the effect of both explosive and penetrating warheads, significantly improving vehicle survivability.
 • Supreme Vehicle Firepower - Additional weapon packages are mounted for the driver of all armored vehicles, greatly expanding the range of targets the vehicle can successfully engage and destroy.
 • Vehicle Motion Sensor - Use this electronics warfare package to locate enemy units in direct proximity to the vehicle.
 • Tracer Dart Pistol - This magnetic dart attaches to any vehicle surface, allowing squad members to track, lock on, and fire rockets onto moving targets even beyond line of sight.
Two classic Battlefield 1943 weapons
 • M1A1 Submachine Gun - Reliable but heavy this classic weapon is a powerful force in the hands of any Battlefield veteran.
 • M1911 Pistol - Highly customized M1911 are favored for its dependability and the power of its large .45 caliber round.

If I knew that I could get the LE from amazon I would pre-order on amazon already.

Now I have to wait for my $20 MW2 gift card.
Who else is going to pick this up at launch in a few months?
i am. its basically paid off at gamestop cuz i traded in brutal legend for $31 while they had their 30% extra credit promo. on top of my old pre orders of u2 and r&c (bought them at tRu with their promos) i only owe like $5 on the game.

I think there is an open demo coming to both systems around the end of the month, but I can't find any concrete info on it.
Been keeping a very close eye on this game. Either g4tv or GTtv is supposed to have a SP reveal soon. I think tomorrow, but forget atm.
From Joystiq

This Thursday at 12:30am ET, the new season of GameTrailers TV is set to debut with a look at Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Specifically, the trailer for this week's episode promises that the show will display the first footage of the game's single-player campaign (we've seen multiplayer already, after all). Beyond the Bad Company 2 footage, GTTV will also have a clip from the upcoming Halo Legends anime collection. This might be a stretch, but we're guessing there will be Spartans in it.

I'm jumping right online when I get it, who cares about single player?! haha.

ugh... March but... I can't fucking wait! I'm gonna so suck but it's gonna be fucking awesome. You don't know how much I've been craving Automatic gunfire.
Have you guys been checking out the videos?
I've pretty much lived through the African Harbour videos during the beta. Three does look a little staged, because in the beta everyone was always doing their own thing--hardly organized like that video. Anyway, I hope the demo in Feb has Squad rush.

Yeah whats up with the demo? Is it open to all, or only for those who pre-order? I'm confused about that.

So far speculation says the demo will be out on Feb 4th. I haven't read anything official if its going to be public demo, but I would think so considering that is what they did for the original Bad Company. Hope more info comes in about it soon.

I just got the first one a week or so ago. So far, I'm really liking the single player, but can't really get into the multiplayer compared to Call of Duty. Might still pick up though.

Squad Rush details from battlefield.com (NamPahc posted the trailer video above)

Battlefield Bad Company Squad Rush Gamemode Details!

We'd like to officially announce the new gamemode and clarify the details surrounding the "Squad Rush" gamemode for BFBC2. So let's start with the video and get into it shall we. :)

Squad Rush Summary

Gamemode: Squad Rush puts a squad of four players versus another squad of four players for a max of eight player matches in this intense one crate/two base infantry only version of the Rush gamemode.

How To Access "Squad Rush" at Launch

North America: All customers that pre-order from GameStop (local retail store or website) on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will have an Exclusive Access* for 30 days to play the "Squad Rush" gamemode and any friends they bring with them. This means you can always play with your friends if you have the Exclusive Access* never forcing you to split from them, plus those that have this Exclusive Access* are a bit more popular... even if only for 30 days. ;-) *This game mode would be automatically unlocked for everyone after 30 days.

Rest of The World: No Exclusive Access, as this mode would be unlocked day 1 at no extra cost and you can also invite any of your American buddies to play as well.

* No Exclusive Access on PC, as this mode would be unlocked day 1 (no extra cost).

===

I think its bull that those in NA are having this mode locked for 30 days unless we reserve from the crap that is GS.
is the demo more multi player or single player
Multi:

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 console demo and PC beta will feature Port Valdez, a new vehicle focused map where up to 24 players (32 on PC) will compete against each other as either the US or Russian armies in the game's Rush multiplayer mode. Players will have access to five land and three air vehicles where the Russian side can use everything in their arsenal including Main Battle Tanks as well as the fast-moving Quad Bikes and Mobile Armored AA. The fight will also be packed with plenty of infantry combat fought alongside the waterline towards a great oil industrial landscape in the Alaskan mountains.

Here is the demo's trailer too.

Hmm I was hoping to try out a different MP mode. To see what the other types are. I had fun playing the beta, I think I actually played it more than I did MW2. I'm very close to the edge of buying this game but with school and other games I don't think I will have time for it. Looks great, maybe I'll change my mind as release date gets closer.

Update: The US PlayStation Network has not yet been updated with this week’s new content, and as a result, the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 demo announced to be available today is not yet accessible. The demo will become available later today when the US PSN is updated.

DICE and EA have announced that a demo for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available on the North American PlayStation Network. The demo is already available to Xbox 360 and PC gamers around the globe but hurry because it ends on the 25th of February.

The demo for the game features Port Valdez, a new map focused on vehicles where up to 24 players can compete against each other in the Rush multiplayer mode. Players will have access to five land and three air vehicles (including Main Battle Tanks, Quad Bikes and Mobile Armoured AA and can look forward to infantry combat alongside the waterline.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on the 2nd of March in North America and on the 4th of March in Europe.

I hear its on the EU store, not sure how that'll work.

Update should hit later today though. I'll be checking it out for sure tonight.

Well downloaded the demo, it is really nice, and I love the tagging system. Had a great first match (61-14) even though my team just all over the place until the we won at the last two objectives. I know its a demo, but the majority of the guns are locked (at least looking from the stat screen) where they say "available in the full game." Still, I thought the demo was pretty solid.

Yeah, the previous demo didn't have the weapons locked as far as I know. Not that it matters to me, one of the best rifles is the starter for Recon hah.

This version is better then the last I can say. I like the minor changes to the HUD. Also I think they need a crouch icon, know they want to minimize the screen clutter but it is useful. Can't wait for the full game high res textures.

You can mark enemies with the UAV now which is handy. Though I still can't figure out how to swap the weapons. Shooting those things down as they move is a lot a fun with a rifle.

I actually pinged I guy coming down in a parachute with a rifle. Didn't kill him but he was trying to scope troops as he came down... Floating in a straight line- bad idea. :)

Anyway add me if you want to squad up- Starkkat. (STARK KAT, not "Star Kat- MEeeoww" as some guy in me squad kept saying when I killed someone lol).

I forgot how great this game is (so far.)

I also pinged two guys coming down on chutes with the sniper, I wanted to get a chute kill so badly.

Although, it's going to take me awhile to get used to aiming and burst firing again.

Damn you, MW2 and MAG. Actually not MAG so much, it's still my baby.

See thats not fair, because I'm an Assault---and I need my AUG! The XM8 blows as a prototype weapon in real life and it blows in this game lol Seriously, though I'll switch up classes depending on the situation. Usually, I'm assault or sniper when attacking and then defending I go medic or engineer.

Anyway, I'll see which of my accounts has space, and I'll shoot you an invite.

I unlocked the second weapon for the recon and medic class, so you should have at least two guns to play with.

I found it easy to pick guys off in MAG coming down with chutes. I think because there were clouds and stuff going on up there and not large areas of empty space. Easier to read them.

Tried the demo, much improved from the beta and I thought the beta was really fun. I still suck though, but have so much fun playing. It's going back to a Day 1 purchase for me.
