Video Game Baby Names!!!

Isles Guru

CAGiversary!
My wife has given me permission to name our first baby after a video game chracter. Sure, there are lot of names to chose from: from the cheesey Mario t o the majestic Zelda. But I am leaning towards Wesker if our baby is a boy. What do you guys think?

I think thats really cool, I have a friend who named his daugher Aries after the girl from FFVII, Wesker sounds cool, but wasnt he a bad guy....I dont know I guess I would feel a little weird naming a kid after a bad person/character, but thats just me.

If you're absolutely going to name your kid after a videogame character, for god's sake, don't name him Wesker. He'd hate you for life. My only suggestion is, for a girl, go with Azel.

Such a bad idea.
PLEASE THINK OF YOUR CHILD....DONT BE A BONEHEAD
i agree, you realy want your kid gettin mad fun of in grade school hearing how his daddy and mommy are nerds who named there son a video game character.

I thought for so long that I was going to name my kid Dilandou after the Escaflowne character... but isnt it pretty stupid?

You're kid is going to "think" you're the biggest loser when he/she finds out you named him/her after a game character...

I don't think I am being a bone head. In fact, if my son is a chip off the old block, I think he will appreciate being named after a video game character. For the records, my wife is well aware of my obsession with Resident Evil and she is even aware that Wesker is considered somewhat of an evil dude. I think it is more of a tribute to the game opposed to the twisted bastard the character portrayed in the game.

P.S. Yes, Wesker was his LAST name. But I did look up the name Wesker and apparently it is a Canadian FIRST name, as well, with the meaning: "defender"

Canadian huh? Does that count?
Name him Abobo

dude video game names are just up there with those names that want to sound real like laquisha or sumtin in that line...Laquisha is the only lame name i could think of.....

or put it this way...if you were a kid how would you feel if your named abobo?

EDIT* I guess if a name has meaning behind it..than it is good i guess...

Oh and for all of those people who are so concerned that his classmates teasing him about his name, consider this: the only people that will know that he is based on a video game character will most likely be Resident Evil fans anyway. It is a very, very obscure name so how would they know the origin of the name unless they played the game??? For all anybody will know it is a variation of the name Wes.

Name your child Big Boss, regardless of gender. If he or she asks you how you came up with it, say it's after their Grandfather, who died in Zanzibar on a mission. Say it was either that name or Morden.

If its a boy, name him Ganon. There aren't enough people named Ganon.

Oh, and don't be a dick...give your kid a name that won't keep him a virgin till he's 41.

I didn''t realize this was such a horrific thing to do. Me thinks some of you need to lighten up.

P.S. I guess Ms. Williams, below, is going to be in the same group therapy session my kid will be attending.

IT'S A GOOD THING HE WASN'T PLAYING CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN... Robin Williams' daughter is named after Link to the Past's heroine, Princess Zelda.

My firstborn male child will be named Lincoln, partially after the President, partially after the son of Gutzon Borglum (the original sculptor of Mount Rushmore) who continued his fathers work until funding ran out, and partially so that his nickname can be Link. I still need to find a woman who will be ok with this.

Yep, that's what I wrote. Got anything to add?
if its a him, name the baby cait sith.

if its a her, name the baby kate sith.
Hmm, I actually like the look of Cait for a girl's name. For a boy, anything that sounds like a traditionally feminine name is an invitation to childhood humiliation. How about Cait for a girl, and Sith for a boy?

Jimmie still needs to find a woman too, I'm guessing.

OP, don't do it. Chances are you'll regret it later.

here's what you do... pop in a copy of final fantasy tactics and start a new game. use whatever name they give for your cleric. sometimes you get cool ones.

Zelda was a princess...fathers like to think of and treat their daughters like princesses.

A. Wesker was a traitor and bastard. A triple agent. That should answer your question. oh, while you're at it, why not ask Capcom for sponsorship.

my suggestion, go with 'Blanka' cause you're a monster. j/k Bro, (just think of your kid first)

the idea is on par with naming your kid after a porn star.

How about Pacman? Nothing to make fun of there!!

Or Gaiden.

Deev (from Deep Fighter)
Strider
Toejam
Fifa
Ubisoft
Player99
Phoenix Suns Gorilla

My advice: Do this without looking back.

name your kid prince of persia or luigi clancy.

alos, saying robin williams kid is named zelda doesnt justify your crappy idea.

Oh, I haven't laughed this hard in a while. Big Boss? Optimus Prime? I LOVE IT! :D

I've got another good one - name him "King of All Cosmos". That should be a winner.

Or better yet, get a dog and give it a name from a game, and give your kid a REAL name. Or don't, it'll be your psychiatrist bill. :p

Roflmao @ Donkey Kong. That had me on the floor. Lol.

But, I have to agree with whoever said Leon. I love that name. I know the other poster was referring to RE, but ... I fell in love with the name after playing Castlevania: LOI.

Or .. Samus? That's kind of cool.

Oh wait. Wakka. Hahaha.
PLEASE THINK OF YOUR CHILD....DONT BE A BONEHEAD
I was thinking gimp actually, but I think he gets the point.
You're going to get your kid's ass beat in school.

Almost as retarded as the "Burger" family who named their kid Crystal....yes, that's a real name.

Name him Fargoth if you plan to hate him. Damn Fargoth pissed me off so much early on! Then the bastard was smoted!!!

How about first/middle Jill Valentine for a girl or Chris Redfield for a boy. Neither of those will get the her/him teased as a child, both pay homage to the one that started it all, and I think Valentine is an awesome middle name.

shame on all of you for not mentioning Rash or any of the other Battletoads

and if you do name you kid after a video gam character, name it after someone with a common name, like Billy or Jimmy, or Ken. As far as girls, bust out with the NES, because basically every NES game had a plot where some girl gets captured (i.e. Jessica)
Do you want to change your name to Homer Junior? The kids can call you Ho-Ju!

Actually Wesker's not a bad name at all. Apparently if its a real name (in Canada atleast) as he pointed out no one really has to know it came from a video game at all. I mean we don't automatically assume everybody we meet named Mario was named after the video game character. So I say go for it. BUt I also kinda like some of the other suggestions people made. Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy are both pretty cool names, plus they're the good guys to boot.
