@Tooshort nice collection but three CIB N64's is overkill and ridiculous. Makes me think you're a collector before a gamer. Which you probably are. You probably spend more time shopping for games then playing them lol. A lot of your current gen stuff is still sealed.

Good to know that you're always lurking around the corner, ready to insist that someone's doing it wrong. Strong work.

Or that tooshorty has a super big backlog of games. As for the CIB N64s, maybe tooshorty managed to pick them up or cheap? I'm sure a lot of people have more than that, especially if you include the Colored 64s.

not me. ive only got my launch N64 which has had a busted reset button since three months after we got it. works like a charm otherwise. dont know how that thing still functions its been beaten to hell and back. that and we used to have mastiffs that were clumsy as hell and naturally stepped on the damn thing God knows how many times or simply tripped on the controller cords and knocked it down and im sure drooled on it. yet it still works lol. and im sure its never been dusted or cleaned once either. cant get quality products like that anymore.

Oh nice, more power to you then. ;D

I've only seen it cheaper at Walmart in the past for $29 on rollbacks occasionally, but they usually don't go much cheaper than that.

OK, I'm sold on that cinnamon cherry Sauder. I like that the shelves are adjustable. In your collection pics though, the shelf looks really dark, almost black. Or is that not the cinnamon cherry that you have?

Those darker shelves are the Espresso color.

Very nice collection.

Is that a floating shelf? That's really cool. I've always wanted one of those but they cost a lot and I'm always it'll fall off.

I can say for sure I am a collector. I have beat 5 games last year. some people collect cars, books, or dvds. I choose video games. I don't do drugs or drink, I am not married and I pay my bills. now I am also a cheap collector, I wont go over 20 dollars for any game.

Well I found a better TV this weekend at a yard sale. $5 for a 27" Samsung flat CRT. The sucker weighs ~100 pounds!

Anyway, here's a pic of the setup with the new TV (sorry for the kinda blurry pic):

Do you hook up all of your vintage video game systems one at a time or do you have some kind of adapter that lets them be plugged in all the time?

Most of my stuff is a daisy chain of RFUs. Newer stuff goes through a 5 way composite switch.

I'm not sure what everybody else does, but that's what I do.

^^^ Switch boxes. I think that's pretty typical of many retro gamers.

I'm guessing a lot of us in this thread associate more as collectors than gamers (I do). But I think people are bothered by the fact that needler420 comes into this thread every now and then to point out how someone isn't a gamer because he has x number of games and/or has sealed games. I honestly don't know what he expects from this thread, which is about posting/discussing "collections."

A million times yes. Thanks.

Same. My collection is similar in size if not bigger. I beat more then 5 games per year though. Even when I was employed and barely played video games I still managed to finish more then 5 games a year.

I don't drink often but I do a little drugs all the time.:booty: I guess the difference is I collect games too I just also play them.

Why do you think you are the only person who can have a collection and play games too?

^^^ Switch boxes. I think that's pretty typical of many retro gamers.

Yeap same with me. The rest are on VGA, Component and HDMI all directly into the TV.

http://shop.bresoftware.com/

Hit or miss and a tad expensive, but awesome if you get lucky on completing some rarer titles.

we've all been there where we had to make a choice between sheer volume vs. chaos taking over our lives.
by the way, the silver thing with your ce's- is that one of those cat toys or is it a video game related thingy I'm not aware of?

Edited by guinaevere, 12 March 2013 - 01:56 PM.
auto correct - sheer volume. not sheep volume. ( >_<)
