lolx just bought Crysis for $4 on ebay. Good deals though, im considering warhead. Is it that much better than Crysis?

The multiplayer is supposedly a lot better, along with the mod system.

I played very little of the MP, but the SP was awesome IMO for both Warhead and Crysis.

Play around with the url of the promo image and you can see what each day is about (this does not include the prices, however):

Monday: Crysis Day
Tuesday: Military Day
Wednesday: Command & Conquer Day
Thursday: Racing Day
Friday: Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Spore Day
Saturday: Mass Effect Day
Sunday: Dragon Age Day

Pretty good deal, to bad I got it back when it was a deal 6-8 months ago. I'm having remorse for not picking Morrowind UP and Preorerdering Fallout Vegas (but assuming it will be avil to preorder for awhile).

C&C day.... hope its the everything pack ( i keep misplacing my DVD's for the black decade pack).

I already have the original Crysis retail and would bite on the maximum edition (just to have it on Steam) if it didn't come with securom. Thanks anyway op, great price.

I'll jump on Mass Effect day and Dragon Age day if the deal is sweet enough. I just bought Bad Company 2 with my Amazon credit. Too bad
Balls. And I just spent $43 on Fallout 3 GOTY, Oblivion Deluxe and Magic: The Gathering.
LOL. Same here. Although extremely tempting since I've already played through Crysis but not Warhead, I'll pass on those for now but Saturday and Sunday could be potentially ugly.

I hope mass effect 2 drops down to about $20 its already $30 everywhere else and I have been waiting on a steam sale for months now

Crysis and Warhead are great games. Anyone who claims they are "generic shooters" didn't play them. Which is not to say that everyone will love them -- I did, but I'm not going to guarantee your personal enjoyment -- but generic they are not. Definitely check out the demo. While the system requirements are high, they have been exaggerated in the past. Game still looks great on medium, don't pass up this opportunity just because your computer can't run it on super-duper settings level.

Mirror's Edge, coming later this week, is still a fantastic game. Really good on the PC, controls perfectly. Story is incredibly stupid, I recommend skipping the animated cut-scenes. They add nothing.

Dead Space is fun. Remember to go to the settings and turn off V-Sync. If you don't, mouse control will be horrible. A known and still un-fixed bug. Don't come complaining in the forums about the controls if you haven't turned off v-sync yet.

Lastly, as far as I know C&C 4 still has Ubisoft-style lose-your-connection-for-a-moment-and-game-quits-on-you DRM. Just a warning.

I have most of the games up there, but I am hoping for a good price on Battlefield. Not too much into the multiplayer, which is why I haven't gotten it yet, but if its cheap enough I'll get it for SP.

Wouldn't mind picking up C&C Generals if it comes on sale during the C&C day. And as people have mentioned, a good sale on Bad Company 2 would be sweet.
I have the boxed version of Crysis. If I get Warhead on STeam will it work?
Yes

Crysis Warhead is a standalone release and does not require ownership of Crysis to play.

"3rd Party DRM"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OH WOW

Anyway, I played Crysis and it was pleasant as a stealthy shooter, though certainly nothing worth your time compared to better offerings on the market. The game looks UGLY AS HECK on any setting below maximum. It scales down like crap.

Untrue. I played the original Crysis a while back, didn't finish it because I had let a friend borrow it, and it looked great even on Medium. Better than anything else on the market. Sure BF BC2 might look a bit better now, but Crysis still looks excellent.

Thanks OP for the deal, about to pick this up. I lost my CDs for the original to the aforementioned friend, who is now in Afghan and I doubt he remembers where he left em.

Did you play it on high? its not about the quality of the graphics but the atmosphere lowering anything that makes a fps differance make the island look all dull and grey.

Damn steam sure likes eating my money. However, the deals on ME2, Dragon Age, and C&C has to be pretty darn good for me to bite. I'm knee deep into the wastelands of Fallout 3 and loving that game. I could see myself spending over a 100 hours on it just like morrowind and oblivion. Of coarse I could just hit the main quest and burn through the game. I really want to play dragon age but really want to play in the wastelands. And don't get me started on how much I want to play in space trying to romance the alien women. To many games.

Crysis is an incredible action game. Warhead is just more Crysis. Both of them are good, though I preferred Crysis partly because it's a bit longer, but that came at the cost of a part late in the game that I didn't enjoy. Both games are GORGEOUS games, and are NOT "grey" when the settings are turned down. They scale beautifully, and anyone who says otherwise has ridiculous expectations. I have seen Crysis on Medium and on Ultra, and the differences are not extreme. The vibrancy remains, but the shading detail and the texture detail is lessened. That's really all there is to it.

If you get these games, play around with some of the mods that change enemy AI and game difficulty. I wanted to play on hard, but the cost of that is that your suit doesn't recharge for something like 20-30 seconds. Play with the .ini file to get regular suit activity against more difficult enemies to get the full experience.

FYI last time I checked Crysis does not come w/ a 64bit executable, and the 32-bit wouldn't run on my copy of 64-bit win7. If you're on a 64bit os I suggest shelling out the extra 5 bucks for warhead which has the 64bit executable.

Maybe somebody has a work around, or this is only a rare case, but figured I'd throw the info out there.

I liked Crysis - never beat it, but any game with a sprawling setting is a game I'm destined to never beat.

But a 5 machine activation limit on Warhead? Securom? That's why I've never bought Crysis: Warhead, and I still won't. I was hoping that maybe they wised up and removed the activation limit - especially since it's on Steam! - but they haven't, so I'm not going to buy.

Man, the complete Spore collection is $90! Even at 50% off that's way too pricey. I've wanted to check that game out for a while and the sale is interesting, but if I do I would likely just get the original. Can't believe how expensive that expansion stuff is.

I disagree about skipping the cut scenes, if only because I like the animation - even if it does remind me way too much of the eSurance commercials. Game is great fun, though. Of course, I got it for $5 last winter :bouncy:

I actually already have the games on sale for Monday, Tuesday, Friday - Sunday, and most came through Steam for good prices. Hope the prices rock for the rest of you ;)

Cool, I've been considering buying Dead Space last few days, now I'm glad I didn't do it yet.

5 machine activation limit? fuck you, EA! I will continue boycotting your PC games as long as you use SecuROM and activation limits. And I'm not liking the way you are heading with Online Pass, either... :shame:

I always wanted to play Crysis and have the PC to run it maxed...but not too sure with the activation limits. Does the EA Activation Removal Tool also work for the Steam versions of both Crysis and Warhead? Is it a pain in the ass to use and actually reclaim an activation count?

Thanks...the sale for this is winding down and don't want to pass up on a deal if it's actually worth it. If not, I'll just keep waiting for even cheaper...if that even happens.

Yes it does work with Warhead. I don't think Crysis uses the exact same DRM. At least I've never had to bother with any revoking tool.
Hoping for $10 on Dead Space.
Dead Space was a daily deal for $10.19 during the Holiday sale. Worth every penny and more. I hope anyone who has a passing interest in Dead Space jumps on it because they won't regret it. I played it ready to not believe the hype or rave reviews but in this case it was warranted.

I got Crysis back during the holiday sale. Still great for $20.

This week could hurt me, Still waiting on BC2, Dragon Age, ME2... but wondering if I should wait for "Game of the year editions" on DA:O and ME2. BC2 I need nao!

Thx for the info on Warhead being stand-alone. I wonder why they called it an expansion?

What "better offerings" are there on the market than Crysis for PC FPS at that price? The CoD-style shooters are so different as to almost be a different genre. They're both fun but it's nice to have a little variety with some open world elements.

Generals really holds up well, I was playing it the other day. Got it on Amazon for $5 a couple of summers ago.

Arghhhh! I have a Steam account in the US but am in the UK on vacation. Any way I can get the US prices in my US account from the UK? I'm only seeing prices in £ at the moment. I have Team Viewer on my iPhone but was energy conscious and turned off my PC before leaving the house!

I believe that's one the biggest issues around Steam that they haven't really found a good solution for.

The best thing to do, probably, is to get someone or a friend to gift it to you and pay them back later.
