Someone's saying these are what'll be happening today and then tomorrow (but I'm not sure, since they've been uploaded on a separate site, Valve might have just taken them down because the url changing doesn't work)

So that would be $26.39 for Origins, and $29.99 for Awakening. As for the Collection... that seems to be something they're cooking up specifically for this sale, so there's currently no base price from which to subtract 40%.

I'd guess $70 since the combined base value is $80, so that'd be $42. 40% of $60(36) would be nice too. I'd hop on that.

As for Mass Effect I've played the first one half a dozen times on the Xbox. Might as well keep my save games on there for the 3rd one.

Okay price on ME2 but I'm going to pass since I haven't even finished part one yet. If the DA:O Collection runs in the $40 neighborhood I'll be on that one.

I finally picked ME1. I'm so excited! I've been wanting to play that for a long time, but just couldn't pull the trigger on the $20 price.

This is Steam/EA though, you know. ;) I wouldn't at all be surprised to see the Collections Pack simply being a method to move both the original and expansion at the 40% price which would make it $48. It's still a better deal than buying them separately.

I'm really reluctant to buy DA:O at $26 considering DA2 is coming in February. It's just about got to drop sub-$20 by then.

I have to agree. Both ME2 and DA:O is dropping fairly quickly. I am willing to bet a 10-15 dollars sale on each by the end of the year.
Not very "Ultimate" if you ask me...
For what it's worth, the Ultimate Box has all the DLC that existed when EA released it. And yeah, it's more than worth the price. Good game.

Thanks to a combination of deals, I picked up both of them for 18.17. They're definitely worth that price range. Now the expansion, that needs to come down.

Mass Effect 1 on Steam at $4.99 is a STEAL. Really good game.

As for ME2 PC, great game - and my favorite game released in 2010, so far. If you ain't tried ME2 PC and you're on the fence, try the 2GB Demo - in which you can carry your saves from the demo over into to the full version.

ME2 PC Demo in on this page:

I dunno why Steam don't offer ME2 Demo for download; they often have demos on their pages...

Mildly tempted on ME, having nothing else to play that is. Really hate buying digital though.

Is it better or worse than DAO? The only thing that got me through that game was Alistair being an asshole lol.

Well I've only played a few hours into DAO and I've put 40 hours into ME2 and from my experience, ME2 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better. DAO is still a good game, with a deeper level of RPG but I'd still say ME2 wins hands down.

After how dreadfully crap ME1's combat was, and after seeing DLC pack after DLC pack roll down the chute for ME2, I'm waiting a GotY version with all the DLC. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hope you guys can help me out here!

I know I am late to the party but I have never played ME1 or ME2. Obviously I would like to take advantage of the Save import from ME1 to ME2. It seems you can get about the same steam price on console if you are willing to go used on the console. My 360 is hooked up to a 36" SDTV due to my small boys. Can't afford them throwing anything at a LCD! Since I have 3 boys under 4 years of age, I'm not sure what version is best if they accidentally see what game I'm playing. PC is a 6 month old gaming laptop.

So, with that out of the way:
Which is the best fit for me? PC/Steam or Xbox 360 versions of these great games?

Thanks!

Probably will have to give your specs for you laptop to see if ME2 can run on it but that sounds like your best bet so you can play in your bedroom or some isolated away from the kids.

Thanks OP again. Bit on Mass Effect 2 (bought ME1 during holiday sale) probably will be cheaper during Holiday Sale but I might not be around for that so I will play as soon as possible so it will not affect me so much.

Thanks for the response. No problem running on my laptop. I would be using Tritton Pros for sound whether on 360 or PC. Just wasn't sure what would be best considering my situation. Thanks!

Is Mass Effect's dialogue better than Dragon Age? As in, is it better then listening to people's autobiographies whenever you approach them?

Looks like this is exactky what they did.

Pretty lackluster with DA: O $26.79 alone and DA: OW $29.99 alone. I was hoping for a better discount to pick up the expansion but $29.99 is still a bit too much for me.

Considering ME2 was just $24, I am kind of shocked DA:O is more expensive since its been out a few months longer. At $20 I would have bit on the main game, so I'll be waiting as well.

Darn. I was really hoping for a better price on Awakening. I guess I'll just keep waiting; plenty of games to play in the meantime.

I have an issue with Mass Effect -- the graphics don't seem that great, particularly the textures on the characters/weapons. My computer is very high end and the setting are maxed but my game doesn't resemble the screen shots I see of the PC version. It still looks good in general, but this doesn't seem like ultra settings to me.

I've got it completely maxed out at 1920x1080 8xAA 16xAF and it looks rather good, but characters still don't look as good as some of the screenshots.

I'm weak. I picked up DAO (deluxe) & DAO:A. Game runs smooth on my system, and apparently there are items you can earn if you play the DA: Journeys web-based game too.
